Stayed here for two nights in late October. Rooms were clean and the mattresses were comfortable. Wifi was fine. Breakfast consisted of about two hot items that varied slightly each day. The first morning they had biscuits and gravy and omelettes. The second morning they had sausage links and egg white omelettes. Items that were available every day included bread, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, oatmeal, coffee, juice, tea. They also served cookies in the afternoon. We got back around 5:30pm one day and there were still some left. They were yummy!

My wife and I spent the weekend here on the spur of the moment and turned out to be quite pleased. The hotel was pretty straightforward in its offerings but we were impressed by their COVID procedures and overall cleanliness. The staff was also very pleasant and professional. The grab and go breakfast left a bit to be desired but is not really their fault due to the current pandemic. The location is close to Acadia, downtown and the waterfront. We would definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Acadia Inn in June of 2021 for three days with my husband. Pros- The beds were clean, and comfortable. Parking is free. You are close to the park. Cons- The pool was cloudy and did not appear to be clean. The water was green hued and did not smell pleasant. It did not appear inviting in any way. At one point while we were staying a maintenance worker was weeding the deck by spraying chemicals on the weeds than digging them up. All I could envision was people tracking the herbicide in the water before swimming. For the three days we were there, the hot tub never functioned properly. For two days it was closed for maintenance. On the third day it was open, but in no way warm. I would have called it a lukewarm tub at best. The "grab and go" breakfast was underwhelming. Highly processed muffins, and a limited selection that never changed. It was edible, but that is the best one could say about it. The toilet in our room was LOUD, and finicky. It was fitted with a power flush, and it you did not jiggle the handle exactly right it would run for hours. Actually, everything was loud... the hallway, the toilet, the neighbors upstairs. You will not miss any goings on in the building as you will hear it all. On our last night we woke to the sound of running water. The unit above us flooded, spilling water into our bathroom. The maintenance person was apologetic, but the front desk was pretty silent over the issue. No offers of another room to shower in, or compensation for a dirty water bathroom. WORST PART- I call this out as the worst part, as if I was traveling alone, I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Our room was located next to the front desk. This means every time we went in or out of the room, I could see the office space. At least 5 times while passing the office the door was propped open. What looked like the master keys (3-4 sets of keys on big rings) were hanging by the door. Not even a full arms reach into the office. Anyone could have walked by and snagged the keys easily. The employees were busy at the front desk each time. This clearly is not safe to have the keys accessible to anyone. I fully admit that I am not sure they were room keys, but they appeared to be so. Overall I would give this hotel a 2/10. It was clean but I will not return.

It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

They were definitely not the quality that I usually get at a Hampton Inn. For some reason, the mattresses were marked with the word "summer" in black. I have no clue why. Possibly they put the bad mattresses out for high season. The other furniture in the room was outdated and the fabric was stiff and scratchy. It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. I enjoyed sitting at the bench on the hill taking pictures. Only stay here for the view.

This location did not disappoint! I was able to check-in via the mobile app and select a room. The hotel space was very well-maintained. The room was also great with a large king bed a sofa-bed as we requested. The bathroom and water pressure were great. There were lots of outlets throughout the room as well as an iron, ironing board, alarm clock and refrigerator. The refrigerator was larger than most and had a separate freezer section. There was NO microwave in the room...which was a bit disappointing...especially when you are traveling with kids and frequently need to heat leftovers and other items. Instead, there are two microwaves available for guest use in the lobby. The TV was on the smaller side for a room of that size, but had a lot of channels. The free breakfast they offered was great...better than expected with a few hot options including omelets, sausages and home fries. They also have some other great options including yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, waffle maker with lots of toppings and good variety of bagels, breads and pastries. There also had some cold juices and milk available for breakfast. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for free all day in the lobby! The fitness center was bigger than expected. I used it twice and it was empty both times. Though we did not use the pools, all of them (indoor, outdoor and hot tub) all seemed well-maintained. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves while using them. There was a small "business" area with some work/counter surfaces, chairs and outlets. There was also a small play area with a table stocked with crayons and coloring pages, books, a small tent and a TV with cartoons on at all times! A great little area for the little ones to unwind for a few or just wait while the grown-ups check-in/out. There are a few shuttles available from the hotel that go into Acadia...but we drove and did not need that service. Although it isn't a bad idea...even for those with cars as parking at the popular areas during our early-afternoon ventures into Acadia were very challenging during our visit toward the end of August. Short drive to Acadia (5-10 minutes) entrances. Also, a shorter drive into downtown Bar Harbor (2-3 minutes) or a 10-15-minute walk if desired. Large and free parking lot. All staff we encountered were very nice, helpful and patient.

This hotel offers simple accommodations, free WiFi, parking on site, light complimentary breakfast, bikes, etc. But the emphasis is definitely on the downtown Bar Harbor location and how close this hotel is to many shops and other businesses. Enter from the main Mt. Desert St. entrance or from the back by the parking lot. These folks almost (key word- almost) thought of everything because signs are clearly labeled. For instance, if you park out back, signs will lead you to the Lobby, Elevator, etc. Lighting in our room was glowy even in the evening and bed was comfortable. Our getaway was peaceful, front desk ladies were all super pleasant, beds are done in crisp white sheets. And even if the cool weather didn't let out, we took advantage of our balcony facing Bar Harbor's Village Green. Our stay was affordable. But my major concerns where the slow (clogging) water flow in our bathroom sink, the odd yellow discoloration on the toilet cover lid (didn't bring up these 2 issues with management as we didn't want anyone in our room- so wrapped a towel over it), the bathroom curtain wasn't ironed and the ill-sounding HVAC system was annoying. Thank goodness we could regulate it ourselves. Affordable or not, expensive or not- issues like these can't and shouldn't happen anywhere. There are several pluses and minuses here- but I want to feel comfortable in my 'home' away from home in every sense of the word. But decided to cut our stay short. I know it takes a lot of moving pieces to maintain a hotel- but damn- wouldn't you want your hotel to run like a well-oiled machine so patrons are satisfied?
