This place was wonderful! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It's close to great restaurants and the Silos, Waco's biggest tourist attraction, making it easy to explore the area. Well located. Convenient parking. Clean common areas and rooms. Well managed and organized. Incredibly kind staff. All of that is sort of what is expected from the Bonvoy brand of hotels. What makes the AC Hotel Waco amazing is the air conditioning. Oh my gosh. No, it's the kind staff ... and the amazing air conditioning. Given that the hotel is situated on the surface of the Sun - sorry Waco, you've got a crazy hot city - well functioning AC is not a premium, but a must. The AC Hotel delivers. I guess you can say, the hotel lives up to its name. Oh geesh, sorry - that's a really bad pun. Look the take home from my review, this is a really nice place to stay while in town. AC shut completely off and the thermostat switched to a green "smart/environmental mode" message. The second it detected movement from me, the message disappeared and the AC immediately kicked back on. So naturally I called the front desk. That's when the comedy started. I was told the hotel has been having "backup generator issues all day" affecting the AC. Interesting considering the entire city of Waco has had zero widespread power issues today. I actually laughed out loud when she said it. Then I asked for a simple box fan. They had none. Ironically, placing a fan where the thermostat sensor detects motion would likely keep the AC from shutting off in the first place. What really sealed it was when I was told:"There is no motion sensor on the thermostat." ...immediately followed by an offer to move me to "a room with AC." Wait -- I thought the issue was the generators? And if there's no occupancy sensor, why did the AC magically turn back on the second movement was detected? The proof is literally on the thermostat screen. I don't mind problems. Hotels have issues sometimes. I DO mind being insulted with explanations that make absolutely no sense. Just be honest with guests instead of making up stories that fall apart in thirty seconds. read more

If you're looking for a short stay, extended stay, out of town stay... this is by far the best place in Waco! It's right next to all the tourist places, walking distances to restaurants and shops! We were greeted by Ms. Loretta at the front desk. She has the southern hospitality to the T. She is a local to Waco and directed us local eateries and places to go! We enjoyed having her. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit - otw there is a strip of shopping areas near by. Perfect size pool for the sundown swims. Several patio lounging chairs in well lit areas, two fire place seatings, provided towels easily accessible for use. Security key doors all around the hotel. There's a restaurant/ bar inside hotel! The dinner at the bar restaurant for a Cobb salad was not good. The chicken was super dried. Opt for the charcuterie board. Pepperoni pizza seems to be popular but they add the peppers. Make sure you know this before it's for the little ones. Excellent service hotel staff all around! Highly recommend to come stay for a few days! It's a perfect spot! read more

The location of this hotel is perfect for those looking to make a visit to the Magnolia Silos. It is located right down the street and is conveniently walking distance. Check in was easy and all of the employees that I encountered were great. The hotel feels very new and is clean and modern. Navigating parking was a little inconvenient as the garage is not attached to the hotel. It was a little annoying to have to lug our stuff outside around the pool to get back and forth. The rooms were nicely appointed with plenty of outlets and lighting. The bed was a little too firm for my liking. My biggest issue with this hotel was the bathroom door. There is no real door, just a sliding glass partition that gaps. This means that you have essentially no privacy in the bathroom. I was travelling with a friend and this was a huge issue. The hotel was also hosting lots members of a sorority conference during our visit. The rooms are not well insulated, as I could hear my neighbors on all sides yelling late into the night. My stay here did not feature any restful sleep! Overall, this is a convenient location for Magnolia lovers, but if I would not stay here for more than a night. read more

Nice little hotel in downtown Waco. It is new and modern and while not the largest property when compared to many other hotels, it still has all of the main amenities (gym, pool, bar). I'm not super familiar with Waco Texas so I'm not sure of what there is to do there, I do know that many people go there for to see the Fixer Upper silos. This hotel is located literally right across the street from the Magnolia silos which was a huge plus. There are also a lot of other little shops and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel (including a Terry Balck's BBQ across the street). Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel despite friendly staff and great location. While on a business trip, I checked into my room and to my extreme disappointment and instant regret, the bedsheets were not changed. As soon as I pulled the top bedding back to do my normal checks, it was very apparent the bed had been slept in previously. Safe and clean accommodations is my priority, and should be any hotel's priority as well. Additionally, the vinyl floors did not appear to be swept/mopped. This is a new location and unfortunately, if the upkeep to the property and rooms remain at this standard, it will continue to go downhill. I enjoy Marriott as a chain; however, will opt to stay elsewhere when in this area. 2 stars for the excellent staff. read more

So we were visiting Waco for a couple days to experience Magnolia and other than that we just figured small, sleepy farm town... probably won't have much as far as accommodations, food, etc. I went ahead and booked this Marriott because I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member. This is a new hotel. I think they opened in early 2024, along with a lot of other businesses in town. I was immediately impressed by the lobby/breakfast area, the sizable bar area and seating options, outdoor space and pool area. The bar is solid and will serve you drinks in a plastic cup to take to the pool. The pool was wonderful, there are plenty of chaise loungers and comfy seating surrounding areas with TVs making a day/night at the pool feel like quite an experience. We ended up spending an afternoon in this area and also one evening after we got back from dinner we chose to sit out in the lounge area in the back of the pool area watching a basketball game in the most perfect weather and we kind of felt like we were being spoiled. I also know this is kind of weird, but I have to mention that their music playlist is epic. The music that was pumping out of the pool speakers was really impressive. This important detail they share with a lot of the businesses in town, so thoughtfully curated and intentional in design. It helped make Waco the most interesting place I've ever visited. The rooms are wonderful too, beds are super comfy, great bathrooms. The staff here was kind and accommodating which I would expect because everybody we encountered in Waco were kind and friendly and polite. What's also really great is this hotels location - everything is walkable like you can literally walk around all of downtown Waco and find places to eat, drink, shop no problem at all. Also one block from the silos. Businesses in this town don't take for granted that people are going to spend time in Waco because everyone wants to see Magnolia, so for sure they're gonna have customers forever. They're not lazy, every single detail is thought out and it will bring this town great success. Overall, I would absolutely stay here anytime I'm visiting and I never thought I'd say that I would probably come back to Waco for a vacation, but I actually would.. We visited Waco, Austin and San Antonio on this trip and I choose Waco hands down. Like how did Waco feel as trendy as the West Loop in Chicago? Upon arrival we were greeted by Loretta with a warm smile and everything was pleasant. She was so kind and helpful even walked us out front of the hotel to point us in the direction we wanted to go. She was amazing! The following morning my daughter and I were taking a selfie ( it was my birthday) an employee asked us if we would like a picture? My daughter answered YES please and let her know it was her mom's birthday. We came to find out this was Lauren the front desk manager. When we returned to our room she had put a birthday card under my door with a complimentary drink ticket. That in itself was so very nice but it didn't stop at that...... Lauren, herself and 9 other employees hand wrote a birthday message to me on a birthday card I couldn't believe it! The most thoughtful gesture I have ever received at any hotel.... ever. The entire staff was awesome! The hotel itself is so very nice. Very clean, new, modern, and a great close location to Magnolia. The bed and bedding were super comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with good counter space. We can't wait to return. We want to go back just to visit Loretta and Lauren! Average hotel. Stayed 3 nights for a conference during January. Many of us talked about how hard it was to maintain a comfortable temperature in our rooms. Meeting spaces, which are normally cool, were frigid. We had to wear several layers, including jackets, just to tolerate. If you're coming to Waco for the whole Magnolia experience, this is right next door and within easy walking distance to several restaurants and retail options. Check your bill closely. I had two credit cards on file. My room and parking were supposed to go on my corporate card while all others on my personal card. I've done this a million times without any problems. When I went to check out the hotel had already emailed a receipt and I could tell something was wrong. I went to the front desk and spent over 30 minutes trying to get it sorted out. On top of not knowing what she was doing, Loretta was slow and rude. I finally had to ask for a manger after opening my credit card app and seeing multiple random charges from the hotel for odd amounts that made no sense. It will be several days before I can verify what charges went through and which ones were refunded so the drama may not be over. The thing that bothered me the most is how no one owned their mistake. I was told several times I could just call to sort things out. Why were they in such a hurry to get me out opposed to correcting the problem on site. The whole thing tarnished my impression of the property and I wouldn't stay here again. read more

Great hotel - pool is amazing. Great breakfast. Wonderful location close to Terry Black's BBQ. Hotel bar very nice as well.

We visited the hotel for brunch and it was amazing! The staff were nice and accommodating! The mimosa flight was great! I got the stuffed French Toast which was delicious. The eggs, potatoes and bacon were all cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back again soon. Shout out to Mario he was awesome! read more

We had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was clean and fresh. I loved it. They had hot chocolate at the door and water. We parked on the street but they also have a garage for a small fee. I really enjoyed this facility. So close to the Silos and Dr. Pepper museum. read more
