Pretty average hotel, not fancy like some Hiltons I have stayed in but the rooms were clean, everything functioned as it should have. Had tea, coffee in the room and bottles of water if you wanted to pay $2 to drink them, fridge, iron, hairdryer. Checked in was smooth but clerk could have been a bit more talkative/informative. Large conference room on the first level, pool and outdoor seating was nice but it was December so I didn't utilize those. Easy walk to multiple restaurants, bars & shopping at Spice Market across the street and only about a 15 min walk to downtown Waco. Bar & restaurant in lobby, cleaning staff was very accommodating and friendly. Over all good average hotel experience but there are more modern hotels close by. read more

I feel like this hotel, though it has the potential to be the Top Stay in Waco, continues to fail. "Renovations to Improve Your Experience" have been going on since the birth of Jesus. The outside looks like, not exaggerated, a hotel ready for demolition. There are beautiful views on two sides of this hotel. Some terrific staff members (Cheyenne at reception, a gentleman immediately came to fix the phone in our room, and Catherine Wiley...and only her...in the restaurant actually cares about the customers), please close more bottom floors and focus on top, for pity's sake get the outside cleaned up, fix the very low quality/high price in your restaurant...Hilton can turn this around. This is my spot when staying in Waco. Good clean well kept hotel. Rooms are well kept and clean. Hotel staff have always been friendly, welcoming and helpful. Also there are several food options available right across the street within walking distance. And if you need to walk off that meal you can walk along the Brazos River before heading back to the hotel. Trust me you will not be disappointed when staying here. read more

Had a quick 1 night stay at the Hilton Waco. It is conveniently located/connected to the Waco Convention Center if you need to be there. I thought the lobby/reception desk area was cute. So small. All can be viewed all at once. Front desk staff was friendly. I enjoyed the nicer than normal room toiletries and plenty of coffee and key with free waters for Hilton Honor members. Beds were super comfy! Sometimes hotel pillows give me a neck ache and no problem here. read more

Location, location, and location. This high rise hotel is located next to the convention center. The Waco Suspesion Bridge and riverside parks are literally across the street. Doris Miller Memorial is on the other side of the bridge. It is also within walking to most of the local and trendy coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, shops, and Dr. Pepper museum. In fact, we walked to many of the eating and shopping places. Baylor University and museums are only a 10 minutes drive at the most. However, our hotel room needed a major renovation. Closet doors not closing, mole in bath tub, bathroom tile missing, cold water in the shower was weak, and so on. In addition, ice machine on our floor was broken. There were some positive. Free wifi was strong. Refrigerator was cooling nicely. Parking was free. The cost was about $415, tax and fee included for a two nights stay. Not sure if the Staybridge is a Hilton Hotel or not. Frankly for nearly $350/night it was a HIGE disappointment. Broken taped-together mirror in bath, bath faucet not sealed to wall, toilet seat ready to fall off. Breakfast area constantly out of large plates and service (while rooms have more than they likely need!!!). Hustling employee in breakfast are but ..... Appears to be a big management issue to me. Sept. 23rd our Supper Club dined at the Brazos Grille located at the Hilton here in Waco . Our group total was 22. I called the week before to make arrangements. My contact person was Patrick and he could not have been more helpful and assuring that they would be glad to have our group dine with them and looked forward to seeing us. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were treated top notched. Our table set up was beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff was cheerfully accommodating, and the chef came to our table to welcome us. Breakfast was buffet style, but you were able to request additional items and they were made so well. I stayed at the Waco Hilton during my conference. The property is definitely on the older side; the ceilings are stained and old while the lobby and exterior are dated but not horrible. Thankfully my room was clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff did a great job for my second day. Internet was on the slow side. The staff at the property were truly amazing. The only friendly, helpful staff was the maintenance guy! Had a really odd experience. Desk girl shooed me away to take a personal call on check in. She charged my card, and I'm pretty sure the conference i spoke at pre-paid for the room. The shower didnt drain. At all! It held 4 inches of water all night. If they clean the tub, wouldnt houskeeping have noticed? No internet service. And my phone died, with my 5am alarm, when the power strip in the bed side lamp didnt work! We've stayed at the downtown Hilton several times and of course there are both positives & negatives: Positives: - incredible downtown location. Across the street are several awesome food trucks with some of the best chow in the city. - Beautiful views from the 11th floor concierge level which overlooks Baylor University, McLane Stadium, Magnolia market and historic downtown Waco. - next door to Magnolia market, Baylor and the historic suspension bridge. Not so Positives: - Hilton markets this property as a full-service / destination property but staffs it like a Hampton Inn. Always feel like they are short staffed at the front desk and bar / restaurant areas. - Room Roulette - I've had decent rooms and "upgraded" rooms that are as narrow as a bowling lane. Seriously - some of the rooms have showers you have to dance and turn sideways to get wet. - Pool - not a huge hotel pool guy but after a day of kids travel baseball games would like a pool area bigger then my poor uncles house pool. Give Hilton a shot when I'm beautiful Waco Tx - but check-in with your expectations set. read more

We were in our room on a high floor. There was a loud party going on in the pool area. The music was so loud we could not even hear the television in the room. The front desk said they had numerous complaints about it, but they could not do anything about it. They could not locate the manager to have him/her handle it. We were not allowed to switch rooms either. The party did eventually die down or perhaps the manager was located and said something. At any rate, hotels, especially higher end ones, IMO, should manage for the comfort of all guests and put a cap on how loud music can be when it impacts the stay of other guests no matter the time of day. read more

We reserved an ADA room at the Hilton in Waco due to my husband breaking his leg. When we got to the room, we found a bucket filled with water in front of the door. Turns out there was a leak on the floor above that made it's way down. As my husband wheeled his way into the room on his scooter we discovered that the water had also soaked the carpet, which then splashed into the entryway and caused my husband to slip. We checked throughout the room for further leaks, and found substantial ones in the bathroom. There was a big leak coming from the light fixture onto bathroom floor and into the tub. We call the front desk for help. We were surprised that even though they knew about the leak on the floor above and had placed a trashcan to contain some of the leak in front of our ADA room, They hadn't checked inside the ADA room. We asked to move into a new ADA room, but they were sold out. They said they could try to fix the leak which didn't make us comfortable since water was coming out of a light and there was no way the carpet was going to dry out that quickly which caused a safety hazard. Our only option really was to go and find a new hotel. They did not help us move our luggage nor find a new hotel. Keep in mind that I have a disabled husband and two young children. We drove over an hour to Dallas Fort Worth, where the Marriott took us in and provided of excellent service. I travel weekly for work and have found that Hiltons continues to decline in service. This pains me to say as I prefer Hilton properties. The manager was supposed to call me, but I have not heard from him. I would not stay at this Hilton. Especially if you have the need for an ADA room. #adafail read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here. This is the first trip I've made in a long time that didn't involve booking lodging based on pet policies, so I took advantage of the big discount that came with the government rate here. I loved the option of choosing my own room before arriving - we got a 10tg floor king corner room with river view, and got here just in time to watch the beautiful sunset reflected on the Brazos. I received a text from guest services when I checked in welcoming us and asking if we need anything, then they brought a room service (Brazos grill) menu just moments after I asked for it. And our food was rushed up shortly after as well. Check the pics,he food was pretty tasty and still hit and fresh when it arrived. They also easily accommodated my request for late check out (1pm) to give my daughter extra time to splash in the pool. Would love to come back for another stay! read more

Don't know how this is only a 3 star place. We were welcomed with a friendly greeting and great recommendations on where to eat and sight see. Beds were comfortable, walking distance to nice places to eat and the river walk is across the street from this hotel. The breakfast on the morning was good also. We only stayed one night but wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Also, I left my phone on the bed and when o called they were extremely helpful and overnight shipped it to my home. I wouldn't say it's a 5 star hotel but they definitely get 5 starts in customer service etc. Thanks for all you did! read more

Super outdated and needs a whole renovation. Stains on lampshades, couch no longer holds shape, closet is so tiny bathroom super tiny, furniture is old, dinged, shower caulking is missing and looks old/molded, mattress bouncy, pillows completely suck. Too much money for the quality. Oh and they gave us a note saying they are shutting the water off at 11am...good thing we are leaving! Won't stay here again....will look for something else next time. The Hilton in Waco is a little outdated. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Restaurant was slow serving lunch when we ate there with our group of 8. parking can be problematic when there is an event at the convention center that is adjacent to the hotel. The best part of the Hotel is that there are many restaurants across the street and also a food truck park next to it. read more

Danny, Decorey, Leana and Joy were great to talk to and gave great service. They all made my stay enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Hotel seems nice, but it need updating and/or fixing. Ceiling in room had water leak stain, shower head needs replaced or calcium cleaned out, the water sprays everywhere. Bed was comfortable, staff was friendly. Low rating is due to needing fixed up. read more

Put on your comfort shoes and walk down to the attractions. It's about a 20 min walk. The Hotel is nice and clean. The shower was nice and hot. The internet: weak. :( ... but oh well. Check out is at noon which is a first for me although check in is at 4pm which seems kinda late. read more

Ok i just have to say I just finished having the best hotel free breakfast since before Covid. Great variety, everything fresh and hot, wonderful service and clean and bright atmosphere. Buffet is behind glass with an attendant placing what you want on a plate but you can also order an omelet and or Texas-shapes waffle with berries and they will bring to you. So no worries about a bunch of people touching the food. Coffee was hot and perfectly brewed too! With window views overlooking the park and river and the sun rising, I didn't realize how much I had missed all of the niceties. And that was just the food. The room was super clean with a mini fridge and coffee pot (even that coffee was good). The Hilton CleanStay stickers are in place with a package-wrapped remote and hand wipes around the room if you are concerned about those things. Views from our 9th floor were great including a fantastic view of McClane Stadium and the rest of campus, the silos and a quaint little Waco town. The hotel is older but kept nice and nestled amongst many restaurants and things to do within walking distance. I would recommend Billy Bob's Burgers. I would think during football season this place gets crazy but we hit it in August when everyone was just getting ready to go back to school. With fountains and benches outside, the river path across the street and places in downtown Waco, this is a sure bet. Only down side was a weird fragrant smell that must've been some cleaning product because we only smelled it last night in the hallways. read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews here. I recently stayed here 2 nights on business and had a perfectly lovely stay. Check in was a breeze. Front desk staff was very pleasant. Precautions were taken for COVID and I felt safe. My room was clean and smelled fresh. No issues with the internet. The bed was comfortable. Checkout a simple, and again, easy process. While staff were very nice, we were disappointed with the quality of the room. Stains on the walls. Everything just sort of dated and crusty, if that makes sense. It gave Motel 6 . And we even found a stain on our duvet that appeared to be blood. Pretty disturbing. We called the front desk and they replaced the duvet, but we felt uneasy thereafter...wondering what else was unclean or unsanitary. Disappointed with the Hiltons lately. We stayed while in town for a game and had an awesome night. The hotel has the best amenities I have found in a hotel in a long time. Executive lounge was well stocked with jars of gummy bears, animal crackers, Chex mix and drinks that quickly became an addiction. Nice room with typical style of a Hilton room. The breakfast was the best I have found. Fresh fruit bar was delicious, lots of hot items from bacon to potatoes to biscuits and gravy. Then made to order omelets and waffles. Great wait staff and friendly front desk folks rounded it out. It's also across from lots of places to eat and drink and right in the heart of downtown so makes it easy to get out and stomp around. For a Hilton Hotel I was very disappointed. The service wasn't awful, but the food was disgusting. I mean, how do you mess up scrambled eggs??? The room was awful and dated looking. With a cramped bathroom and stiff beds and pillows, I left after 2 nights with back and neck pain that I had to see a chiropractor before I could return to work. If you want a comfortable and cozy stay, just go to the Marriott directly behind it. read more

Love Hilton properties. They all hold a certain standard for cleanliness and service. This is an older location and it is a little dated; however, it is clean, functional and comfortable. You can count on the Hilton for being reliably comfortable. The beds were nice, the bathroom was clean and easily accessible. There was the standard television as well and there are precautions for Covid here. They sterilize the tv remote and place them in a plastic bag, sanitizer is available and the staff was wearing masks. The only issue we had was the overzealous fridge that was making crazy sounds all night and froze my food and drinks so I had to toss them in the morning. read more

Update... arrived at 4 for checkin to freshen up before an event at 5. Room was not available and when asked was just told, the 4 o'clock check in was not guaranteed. Was asked if I wanted a text when ready. Said yes and gave cell number. Waited around until after 5, so I was late to the event. Never got the text. Room was old needed renovation. Had added shelves in the shower to the old decor. There made the shower too tight and one was separating from the wall. Tried to get a drink while waiting from the bar. Not open. I was here for a Triathlon and was setting up equipment. The first thing I noticed is how clean and neat everything is in the hotel. Not so much of elegance but stately in a modern way. No foul smells, elevator in great working order, and the staff were very professional, friendly, and positive. The restaurant had some great offerings that were reasonable and tasty. The bar was run by a friendly bar tender and despite not being well stocked, it had the top sellers. The location is prime as you are walking distance from most of the area's downtown attractions and "hot" night spots. Close to the stadium as well,; if you don't mind a wee hike. The food was delicious and room service was timely. Bartender Joy mixed me the worst margarita I have ever had. Ran out of margarita mix and used orange juice. I hate to say that I wouldn't recommend hotel, but I do plan on making a return trip back and I won't be staying here. There is nothing horribly wrong with the hotel, it just doesn't meet my expectations of the Hilton brand. The hotel is outdated and the rooms have a musty smell. The rooms don't offer very good lighting and the bathrooms are no better. There was a light out and it made it hard for me to put on my makeup. There are no USB outlets, which is very disappointing...come on guys, catch up with the 21st century. Parking is decent and hotel lobby is nice. I checked in/out on my app, so I had no interaction with any staff. One plus is the location. The hotel is close by to most downtown restaurants and the Spice Market, great shopping.
