I paid close to &500 dollars to resolve a rodent problem and I don't believe I was given quality service During the 1 month period, the traps caught 2 rats-unfortunately both on a Sunday and I had to resolve the issue myself since the calls went unanswered. I was understanding and didn't think much of it since it was Sunday. I paid for the traps and securing all holes. One month in I had a rodent issue again. I tried to fix the problem myself and slowly it got out of hand again. I inspected some of the work that was done and found that the coverings were poorly installed and some areas were not checked. I called Mr. Milton and I informed him I had been attempting to reach him. He replied, "we haven't changed our number" (delivered with a pressured tone). I informed him of my situation and he said he couldn't do anything for me. I told him I would write a review of my experience with his service. Which was negative because he guaranteed he would inspect and cover all holes to prevent rodents from coming into my home and that turned out to not be the case. At his arrival I apologize for being pressured on the phone but I assured him it was my frustration with the rodent issue. I expected to resolve the issue and remain somewhat satisfied with the service. However his negative attitude compounded the problem. Upon inspection he was able to see and acknowledged he did not secure the outside of my house as agreed to. He covered the problem, however, upon my inspection I had to ask him to fix an opening he had not cover correctly-AGAIN! He went on to correct the problem. I thanked him and said it wasn't personal I wanted quality business for what I had paid. He left only to come back. When I open the door he -in a very matter of fact and passive-aggressive manner -informed me, "you can write whatever review you wan t." And walked away. His demeanor and presentation lacked professionalism. I called around other companies and for the amount of money I Paid Mr. Milton I could have had 1 year of warrantee with a lot less attitude even when all his was a result of poor workmanship. read more

The company name is no joke, folks. Seriously. No joke. I have absolute confidence in Mr. Owens, owner and bug guru extraordinaire. Let me tell you how it goes. This morning, I got up, took out the trash. Ugh! Maggots in the trashcan (the outside one, not inside the house. You would have still heard me screaming if they'd been inside the house!) I moved the can out to the street, praying that the bugs would all stay inside it until the garbage came in the morning. Then, inside quickly, because I just remembered I started making breakfast just before the garbage needed to be taken out, and I had a pot of oatmeal on the stove that was quickly simmering into a potential fire hazard. So I run inside and... see ants all over my dog's bowl and living room floor. AAAAAGGGGHHHHH! First off, I sprayed every crawling thing I could see with Lysol. While that kills them, it doesn't do anything for any bug that came late to the party. I frantically tore my house apart looking for my card for Absolute Serenity, the company that normally does my quarterly bug-get-the-heck-away-from-my-house service. Mr. Owens listened to my frantic blathering of "Maggots! Ants! AAAGGGHHH!" and promised to come over as soon as he could. Considering that he's a busy guy, he fit me in on an emergency basis. Couple of hours later, the big black truck pulls up and up steps out Mr. Owens, my knight in cloth armor. He educates me on the maggots, he sprays a kid and pet safe solution on the ant trail in my house that will completely eradicate the nest in a day or so tops, and goes outside to check how they're getting in. He ends up removing the large amounts of spiderwebs that have sprung up in the back yard, checked all my kids' outside toys and swingset, and educated me on the fact that I do have a brown widow population (did you know the juveniles had spots, and the adults are really damn fast?) which he then proceeds to slaughter. I mean, he's ruthless. Nice, but ruthless. Which, as the 2-legged homeowner, I am happy to see. I mean, I like my neighbors, but come on! Arachnids are not my favorite. And for all that, he didn't charge me. All part of the service, says Mr. Owens. Now, I ask you, how great is that? I've been using Absolute Serenity Pest Control for a couple of years now. Mr. Owens is always responsive. He's great and personable and really loves what he does. You can't ask for more than that. Except you also get a great rate, too ($20 less than I was getting charged by Terminix). Absolutely worth every penny. read more

He spoke with me for 10 minutes freely sharing his expertise and simply advised me to plug up the entry points we discussed and wait further before contracting him for any extermination services. We were victims of a prior infestation in an older building in San Francisco and had moved our brand new furniture from there down to LA and are thus relocating. Milton spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with me, and he was certainly knowledgeable about the different types of pests that may have been trying to live here uninvited. Turns out I had 2 different kinds, & they each required a different treatment. Milton was very thorough with the explanation (gel bait & spray for the different types of pests) and with the treatment application. Do not hire this guy! He will try to jack up the price once he's at your house! Milton asked me over the phone what type of bugs I was seeing. I told him we had one that looked like a small roach, and a big regular sized roach. First, he was late. I wasn't home when he went over to provide the service and the first thing he did when he arrived at my mom's house is ask if I left the $180 he quoted me. After speaking with my mom, he called me and told me that it was a different type of cockroach from what he thought, and said he was going to have to charge more. I reminded him that I told him we had two kinds, and there shouldn't be a difference in price based on what he said and quoted. He said it was still going to cost more, so I told him we'd call someone else and he left. First of all, you're gonna expect me to know the difference between an American cockroach and whatever other species there is? Second of all, if it is an American cockroach and not whatever else, it's gonna cost more, why? He should have at least warned about a change in price. Bullshit. I originally called Milton based on Yelp reviews. You have to understand that many businesses hire people to write good reviews, or offer people discounts for writing them. Graat service but next time I will find a company that actually not only shows me where the potential entrances could be for rats but will also do the work on covering those holes properly. I had to hire someone to do that. That person did not do a good job so I had to go on my roof and do my best to cover those holes. This was very difficult for me and I almost fell off the roof. Advice: -Hire someone that will include this as part of the service. Even it is more money. It is worth it otherwise the rates keep coming back. I called for an inspection because I thought we might have bed bugs. Milton came out that same day and was able to thoroughly inspect our bedroom and rule out bed bugs. (YAY!) When I first read the reviews about Milton and his company, I thought this guy must be paying people to write positive reviews for him. Nobody could be that good. The truth is, he is THAT good. He just left my house after completing rodent treatment for some unwanted guests in my attic. I called 4 different companies to come out and give me an estimate for treatment. Milton beat them all. Not just on price, but on service, thoroughness, and honesty. It's hard to know who to trust these days, but after being disappointed with so many shady service providers that charged a lot but provided very little, Milton was an unexpected exception. You will not go wrong calling him. What I liked most: 1. A true professional with many many years of experience. He used to be a technician for one of the big guys before starting his own business. 2. He knows all the tricks for a fraction of the price. 3. Milton took his time. He was thorough and made sure the treatment he put in place was effective. 4. He charged an honest price. He's not the cheapest but he's far from the most expensive. Milton (Mr. Owens to my children), is professional, kind, personable, responsive and great at what he does. No one likes having a rodent issue, but after I had HVAC Installed in my home, some keen eyed little rodents noticed that there was an easy entrance created to my attic, and made themselves at home. I called a couple of places, 2 of which told me that had no appointments available on weekends or during the hours when I wasn't at work. They would only give me a 4 hour window and expected that I take the time off work to accommodate their schedules. Milton worked with me, coming at 6:30 am the next day. My hero! He inspected the property and quoted for the extermination (with a limited warranty) and another quote for doing repairs and closing up places where the critters could get in. In the weeks that followed my son looked forward to seeing Mr. Owens once a week and followed him around talking his ear off the entire time he worked on the repairs. I told Milton that he could tell my son to go inside if he was driving him crazy but he was more than happy to explain everything he was doing to a curious 6 year old.
