In short - I have more bad to say than good with just TRYING to do business with this company. Would not recommend for communication based reasons alone. I've elaborated in depth below.
I'll start off with what is good. They were very quick in responding when I sent in a request for a quote. They were honest when I asked if they were certified professionals and they said no. The price they offered was exciting considering I need to have the windshields replaced on 2 vehicles at the same time and other certified professionals were quoting quite a bit more than these guys.
Now... for the bad. First, when I told the rep I was asking over Yelp/email how they communicate with customers if there are issues with the work, he encouraged me to check out their reviews and website. In doing so, I did my research and saw that all of their positive Facebook reviews were from friends/family. When I told the rep this, he said "Our Facebook page has those reviews but the ones on yelp we can't alter or remove and they're all from customers we have done replacements on. " So... already a little suspicious... but gave them the benefit of the doubt seeing that they look like a start up company and they are younger. Being that I was about to drop hundreds of dollars on repairs, I then asked at a later date if they were licensed, insured, and bonded. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not doing work with some sketchy place that is gonna screw me over for that much money. I got an automatic reply from Yelp saying I responded outside of 10 days so I would have to contact them in another way. OK, that makes sense, so I went to their website because they have that chat box thing and knew from their posted business hours that when I was reaching out at 8:00 am they wouldn't see it. I then got a snooty email from them- on Yelp- and I was surprised thinking "how did they see this email if Yelp told me it was outside of 10 days?" saying "you're using our ad resources so we will only answer anymore questions through a consultation over the phone." Why reach out and communicate with me via email, and have the chat box online, if you now only want phone calls, and try to say I'm using ad resources? So that was strike #2. Then, I got another snooty email from the response to my chat question saying "I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of all this. If you have questions or concerns please call me at (425) 249-8298. Please call instead of messaging." At this point I still haven't replied because after all this I get it, if I want to ask if they are LICENSED, BONDED, AND INSURED, I have to CALL. The fact they were avoiding it and being rude was enough for me to just forget about them and do business with the guy that replies and answers the basic questions. But they reply again and say "We wouldn't be on BBB or be able to advertise. Let alone advertise on yelp if we weren't." They wouldn't be able to advertise or be on Yelp if they weren't bonded? Yea right. BTW, these are all copied and pasted directly from my communication with them.
Needless to say, the rude and unprofessional communication with this company was the sole reason I decided to go with someone else that was responsive and kind.
I won't trust a company that tells me to look at reviews and they are family and friends. I won't be patient with a company that tells me that "they don't know what I'm trying to get out of all this". I wanted to know if I gave you almost $500 you could be trusted. And I got my answer out of all of this. They might do good work and the owner might be way more professional and respectful than Mohammed that was messaging me from Yelp. I kept all these conversations as well so if pictures are wanted I can update.
UPDATE: Even after the company responded below, he chose to lie about a better deal because of mutual friends and try to blame me for using THEIR MESSAGING OPTIONS to ask questions about their work. The price in fact DID NOT change when I noticed that they were my age and he makes it seem as though answering the simple question "Are you licensed, bonded, and insured to do work" is a nagging question. Sure, you were upset that you didn't like being asked questions about YOUR OWN COMPANY. The issue wasn't if they were certified professionals, the fact is I asked if there was some reassurance with a start up business that I would be protected if I chose to do business with them and they couldn't provide the service that matched their whole 3 yelp reviews. Suggestion - maybe have the other guy do the communication if you get that upset for actually having to do more than just throw a number at someone and try to schedule them instantly. read more
