However, the replacement took an extra day because the window ordered initially lacked an important part and couldn't be installed. After the new window arrived from a different supplier, the installation went OK and the car looked great. However the sensor for lane position wasn't properly calibrated and I had to go back to have it re-calibrated. After that glitch everything was OK. American Eagle personnel gave me no explanation for the glitches with the inital bad window part or the difficulty with the sensor calibration, but they did go out of their way to make those problems right.

Finding a generic replacement windshield proved to be so difficult that American Eagle ended up purchasing OEM glass through our local Subaru dealer which American Eagle installed. This is not what set American Eagle apart. When we first heard that generic (less costly) glass was very difficult to find I thought I'd try a different glass company just in case they might have what we needed in stock. I quickly found out that reaching a real person at the "big" national glass replacement company was much more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Their phone voice mail just refers you to their website which pushes you to make a reservation and upsell you with additional services and products. I was never able to reach a live person to ask a simple question. American Eagle's phone reaches a live person, and they even called me several times during the process with updates.

I do not have great luck when it comes to car washes or flying rocks. Miraculously, Safelite (and my insurance company) always save the day. I called my insurance company on Monday, 7/9 to file a claim for a cracked windshield. They set-up my appointment with Safelite and Safelite arrived today to install a new windshield. Terry, my technician, was great. He called in the morning to let me know when he'd be arriving; then a little while later called to let me know that he was running way ahead of schedule and would be able to replace my windshield even earlier than anticipated. Yay! Terry inspected the exterior of my car prior to the install, then got the show on the road. He was done in about an hour; interior vacuuming included! My (amazing) insurance company took care of the entire bill thanks to my $0 glass deductible, something 'extra' that everyone should add to their auto policy. Terry gave me a receipt for my records and that was it! Safelite and my insurance company handle the claim amongst themselves. As I mentioned, this is the third time we've used Safelite for new windshields and I've never had a bad experience. This was probably the best and most convenient experience we've had. I could have opted to take my vehicle to Safelite's physical location, but I would have had to wait an extra day. Once an appointment is booked you'll also receive email updates. Then, on the day of the repair, the photo/name of your repair technician, as well as real-time text message updates. For affordable glass repair or total replacement and superb communication, I highly recommend Safelite.

When giving me the estimate, the estimator was very nice, pointing to the $425 charge, saying that if there are no other damages, he will be honest and will remove this charge. Later I was charged the full amount of $962.10. When I called for the estimator to clear what I thought was a misunderstanding, he was gone. The mechanic showed me the replaced single parking sensor, while the manager gave me some prints telling me that the calibration was required by Toyota. Only the print was about the Adaptive Cruise Control - completely independent from the parking assist system. At the following meeting with the manager and the estimator, the estimator denied his promise, and became very unpleasant. The manager refunded only $70, and on my question what for, she said for the in-house pre-scan. I let them know that they still owe me the rest of $355, for which I will fight.There was no calibration required on any of the other estimates for the same repair, and since after subtracting the calibration of $425, Gerber's estimate was the cheapest, I trusted their guy - big mistake. In blogs, people warn that if the mechanic says that after replacing a parking sensor, calibration is required, go to another one. Somehow they erase all negative feedback on google. This is why I never trust google reviews.

After living here for a few weeks we reached out to Perfection. The owner came out and showed us what they could do and demonstrated various tints that were available. We settled on one and the next morning we received a sample so we could see the difference the tint would do. We loved it and within a week they installed the tint to all of the windows. It makes a huge difference. From outside the tint becomes nearly a mirror and from inside it provides a nearly invisible view. The work was done professionally and after their clean up the room was returned to the previous condition. The price seemed very reasonable.
