Today I had an appointment to get my windshield replaced due to a manufactures faulty rear view mirror mount assembly. Chip, the manager and Collin the technician both were outstanding to work with and the job was done on time. The new window and rear view mechanism look great. Chip worked with upper management to make sure there wouldn't be any payment required from me. The quality of the work and the lifetime warranty are outstanding. I highly recommend the Safelite AutoGlass facility in Champaign, Illinois for their quality of work and outstanding customer service. read more

5/5 stars all the way around. I'm not ashamed to admit that this is the third time I've used Safelite to install a new windshield. I do not have great luck when it comes to car washes or flying rocks. Miraculously, Safelite (and my insurance company) always save the day. I called my insurance company on Monday, 7/9 to file a claim for a cracked windshield. They set-up my appointment with Safelite and Safelite arrived today to install a new windshield. Terry, my technician, was great. He called in the morning to let me know when he'd be arriving; then a little while later called to let me know that he was running way ahead of schedule and would be able to replace my windshield even earlier than anticipated. Yay! Terry inspected the exterior of my car prior to the install, then got the show on the road. He was done in about an hour; interior vacuuming included! My (amazing) insurance company took care of the entire bill thanks to my $0 glass deductible, something 'extra' that everyone should add to their auto policy. Terry gave me a receipt for my records and that was it! Safelite and my insurance company handle the claim amongst themselves. As I mentioned, this is the third time we've used Safelite for new windshields and I've never had a bad experience. This was probably the best and most convenient experience we've had. I could have opted to take my vehicle to Safelite's physical location, but I would have had to wait an extra day. Once an appointment is booked you'll also receive email updates. Then, on the day of the repair, the photo/name of your repair technician, as well as real-time text message updates. For affordable glass repair or total replacement and superb communication, I highly recommend Safelite. read more

Had a windshield repaired at my home (in the driveway) and noticed the new installation was cracked in less than 24 hours, it seems to originate from where a covering piece is screwed down. I filed a Safelite warranty claim thinking they would just come out the next week and fix it. Not the case, instead, I was informed Safelite wouldn't be able to do the repair today since the cracked looked like it was due to an impact (though the car was never moved from my driveway and there were no storms, tree near, and we are in a pandemic so have very little foot traffic down the street to even make one suspect vandalism, etc. between the repair and morning I saw the damage - since then yes storms and sun/heat which may have made the crack grow - but I'm not in charge of their scheduling). Will need to wait now to see if the manager will approve the fix, but very disappointed. They also want me to drive in the car to have it looked at though, I had the repair done at my home since the car is on carry-over insurance (not for driving right now). The damage is definitely due to a faulty installation or defective glass - very unprofessional and in good conscious I cannot give a good review of this place no matter if it is one bad installation and poor policy. Added: The store made me add liability to the car to drive it in - only to emphatically indicate they would only fix the damage with payment. I bet $1M that the autotech who came out, knew they damaged/broke the windshield they installed before they left. Only 1 person was sent out to do a 2 person job. And I don't think the tech was patient enough to scrub any rust on the frame and installed this glass over that - causing the crack. Then impact points "seen" from after I called in the glass damage, due to a hail storm the following weekend after calling in the warranty damage has given Safelite Champaign an excuse to try to charge again to fix the windshield - though they were in charge of scheduling. The damage clearly originated from the frame. I am beyond disgusted at the greedy and crooked nature of the Champaign, IL Safelite. I would take pics of the windshield before and after work is done. I highly recommend Mike's Auto Glass instead. read more

We went to Safelite AutoGlass in Champaign, IL to replace our windshield 3 times. The first one was just a small crack. They were able to fix it enough to the point where it would not crack more although it left a terrible mark on our windshield. About a week later, the same thing happened except it created an imbedded rock and a complete crack all along the windshield. Called Safelite again and they set up an appointment for a complete replacement. We show up to our appointment and "they ordered the wrong windshield for our make and model" and were told to come back in 2 weeks later. We show up to that appointment to our amazement we are told the exact same story. The one they ordered was the exact same windshield. We showed them the voicemail from 2 weeks prior and they just kept telling us they couldn't replace it. After doing some back ground checking, turns out it was the right windshield all along and they could have done replaced it not once, but twice. They apparently have no idea what they are actually doing. My husband asked for his keys back and said he would be going elsewhere and the associate gladly handed them back because he never actually cared about our business. I am fairly confident these men are incompetent and nobody is actually holding them accountable for the jobs they are doing. read more

I had to wait much longer then anticipated, with the mix-up. First was told glass was not in stock and had to come back on Monday, even though appointment was set up day before online. Then received a call in the afternoon saying the glass was in and to I am able to pick it up that same day. Keep in mind was told Monday... After all was done price was not the same in my statement. Assuming taxes had a play here. Also still broken pieces of glass inside after they had swapped it out. Along with some inside the door still, but was told it will " eventually " fall out. This is a great place to get your windshield fixed! I made an appointment online, super easy and quick! I brought my car in to get fixed and it was done in less than 2 hours. The employees are very friendly and helpful which makes the experience run smoothly. Also, they will not try to rip you off. In fact when I booked the appointment online I was given a quote of the cost, and when I came in they removed parts of the quote so that the cost was even lower! How nice of them!! I really hate leaving a bad review, ever. However, this place is great as long as everything goes well. I had a side panel that miraculously fell off soon after I had done work done here. These guys are great and we grata up to the point that I came is to ask about the panel. When I nicely inquired about it. They treated me like a second class citizen. They were rude, and not willing to even have an adult conversation about it. Just saying be careful wirh this shop. I talked to a local body shop who said this particular shop has a history do many many issues and shorty workmanship as well as terrible customer service any time someone has a question or concern. Somehow my windshield got cracked in March, and I took it to a Safelite location in Chicago to be repaired. Three months later, the "repaired" 3-inch crack hatched a new crack that extended about two feet across the passenger side of my car. I was a bit miffed, and put off replacing it because my view from the driver's seat wasn't obstructed and I didn't feel like spending money on my car. I finally caved in and made an appointment with the Safelite on Neil. The online appointment system was easy to use, and I got a call from an insurance claim adjustor within an hour of making the appointment. I got a second call from the Champaign Safelite shortly after that to confirm my appointment. On the day of my appointment, I was told I could bring my car in early and they could start working on it. When I dropped my car off, I asked the technician (I can't remember his name) to scrape off the city sticker from my old windshield so that I could take it to my town's city hall to request a replacement. When I came back a few hours later, my car was parked out front, all of the windows were clean, the interior was vacuumed, and my old city sticker was stuck to my new windshield (I don't know how he got it off in one piece!). I paid the price that I was quoted on the website and drove away happy. I hope that the new windshield will stay crack-free and that I won't have any reason to go back here anytime soon. However, I had a very positive experience and I highly recommend this Safelite location. read more

I have used Safelite of Champaign 4 times in the last 4 years, 3 times for chip repair and one time for a windshield replacement. Every time of those 4 I had a very positive experience with Safelite. The work was always conducted in a quick and professional manner. I brought my car to their garage for an appointment and was out in under 20 minutes. The scheduling center and the technicians are always friendly and courteous, and the quality of their work is great: the chips they repaired stayed sealed for years, and the new windshield's seal hasn't cracked or peeled in 4 years. A word of advice: if you just got a chip, get it repaired with Safelite ASAP. The cost is peanuts compared to the price of a high quality original windshield, which run into many hundreds of dollars and are usually better quality than after-market replacements. Even though your chip may look like it's not growing, wait until seasons change, and you'll have your windshield split in pieces. I know I did, and it was dumb. Also, once the cracks start spreading beyond the size of a quarter (or is it a dollar bill nowadays?), it's irreparable. Besides, unlike glass replacement, chip repair can be completely covered by your insurance: I have Allstate, and I didn't pay a dime, and my insurance payments didn't go up. read more

I did a chip repairing in this store but the result is not good. People are also not friendly which I don't really mind. They didn't even give me the price before repairing but charge me 93 dollars for a 15 minute chip repair. It's much higher than the price of other stores. After I represent my doubt, they change the price to 50 using the reason that I have StateFarm insurance. read more

Some idiot shot a bb gun at my window on a Sunday night, while I was on my way to get froyo. Early Monday morning I found Safelite online, booked an appointment, and got a great rate for the replacement! It's nice that they offer to come to you. I was terrified that while I was driving, my window would burst and I, or someone traveling on the side of me would get hurt. So I initially opted to have them come to me, but the earliest appointment for that was too far out so I opted to drive my car in. They were able to get it in that Tuesday (my appointment was at 11am, I took it in at 8am and it was done by 12:30pm)! My window looked like new! I would recommend Safelite to anyone who needs a window replacement or repair. read more

This is the second time I have had to use this company in less than a year. They do not give good windshields. Anthony, Tony was the person replacing my windshield. He is the worse. He does not have his act together. When he arrived to replace my windshield, he had to leave because he left his work table at the other job he did before he did my care. He took my keys with him. When he returned I had to go back out and asked for my keys, he couldn't find my keys. He had to dig around in his van, dig through his pockets. Finally found my keys. I paid him a check for $486.02. I placed this check in his hand!! When he finally finished my windshield, he then tells me he lost the check I paid him. I have no proof that he actually lost the check! So I had to give him another check for $486.02. That windshield ended up costing me $972.04!! I will never use this company again until they can employ people that actually know what they are doing. read more

Within a month, we used Safelite twice to repair two different chips in the windshield of our car. Both times, the work was done at our home. The work was done to our satisfaction in a timely fashion. The technicians doing the work let us know they were on their way and arrived on time and completed the work within a half hour. Way too expensive to replace a rear quarter panel window. They quoted $439 for a replacement rear quarter window and WILL NOT do any labor if you already have the glass. As a Nationwide Autoglass that will not do an install unless they order the window, leads me to think that I'm paying a higher premium for the window versus the labor and cost. If you are getting quotes for autoglass repair/replacement find someone local instead. I am sure they can repair or replace auto glass without needing to charge a higher premium to pay for those fancy Safelite commercials. For me, I will have my window installed by American Eagle Auto Glass for $80. read more

Scheduled appt 3pm. Car wasn't taken in shop until 310pm. Tech from back was up in office more then in the shop. office area is so filthy I could hardly breath. Had to wait outside where there is no seating for waiting customers. Nothing for an adult to read in waiting area all they had were children's book. Unfortunately not a very good experience for me and my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Basically, they replaced my windshield three times and each time the window whistled. They simply could not replace the windshield properly in my Jeep JK Wrangler. In addition, every single one of the windows from MOPAR had edging issues, the black part of the glass behind was scratched which showed through, or, the edge of the glass was improperly ground showing bizarre reflections. I realize they only get what MOPAR sends them but they also could have inspected them better and requested different windshields or asked MOPAR to pick out the best one they had available, they did not. After the third time and all my time wasted bringing in the vehicle and being without it, I decided to move on and call Absolute Auto Glass, Inc. in Mahomet. They came out to my house within two days after they ordered the glass and installed the new windshield. They had requested MOPAR inspect the windshield before sending it. It arrived perfect. The owner installed the windshield and it is perfect, no defects and it does NOT whistle! I highly recommend this company and hope others will support this local company. AAG will be my go to company for future replacements and I suggest anyone with a Wrangler, or any other vehicle do the same. read more
