Took my mothers favorite vintage machine in for repair. The staff didn't hesitate to tell me the broken part was not available with no diagnosis fee or other fees. Honesty is a rare thing today and when i left the store I felt the staff were just good people. Because of their honesty I was able to use the money they didn't charge me to buy an identical used machine on line. I would definitely recommend this store. read more

A week ago, my husband and I took our vacuum to the Above & Beyond Sewing and Vacuum store for maintenance. We are so pleased with the result. All vacuum has more suction power and it feels like a brand-new machine again. Looks like our vacuum was thoroughly inspected and parts replaced. I'm so glad I found out about this store. I moved to the area about 3 years ago and wasn't too impressed with the local store's customer service. I found out about Above & Beyond and are very happy with the fantastic customer service and the willingness to help out with whatever problem I need solved. I only wish they were closer to me. 10/26/16 What can I say! These are my go to guys! My machine was acting up when I am trying to get ready for a fast approaching craft fair and they put a rush job on my cleaning and got it back to me in 2 days instead of the 7 days plus I was quoted. I really love you guys! 4/11/15 I'm new to sewing and quilting so I found this great lil' store through Google. We were greeted right away when we walked in the door to a packed full shop of beautiful fabric and machines. Christine was so lovely and patient and knowledgeable with all my questions. I really love that they were ready to give me an education even though I knew I wasn't going to purchase a machine today....well thank God for husbands because we did purchase a used machine to start me off on my sewing journey. I was offered sewing classes. They have earned a loyal customer. I am so glad to find a smaller family owned shop to support and buy from instead of giving my hard earned money to a big box store! This place is awesome! I tried to serge fabric that was too thick with my Brother 1034d serger and after 2 weekends of my and my husband being unable to fix it, I decided to bring it here. On the phone they gave me 2 prices for servicing (one with a 3 month warranty and the other with a 12 month warranty) and said service would take about a week. When I dropped it off, I chose the 12 month warranty option, and after I explained what was going on with my machine, they said it might be up to 2 weeks for a fix. I got a call and and an e-mail 3 DAYS LATER stating that my machine was ready to pick up! It had been cleaned, oiled, and the timing was fixed. It now runs great and has a 12 month warranty in case anything else goes wrong. I definitely recommend Above and Beyond, they exceeded my expectations with price and time for servicing! read more

We visited for Row by Row, and had never been in before. Small store filled to the brim with good stuff. It looked like there was a class or group going on when we were there, so I didn't explore the whole place, but what I saw was a nice variety of fabrics and notions. Super friendly staff. i brought my sewing machine into above and beyond in Thornton Co. 40 mile round trip, TWICE! and I had a tension and timing issue, the thread kept bunching up from the bobbin, after 2 weeks they said they fixed it, I brought my happy butt up to the shop to give them 140 bucks for the repair, I asked them what they did and he said he didn't have a clue, but he remembered he replaced the bulb... big deal! so no work order, just a big bill for a light bulb. Really super super nice family owned and run business~ They are also an authorized DYSON regional repair center. I dealt with the son I went in to buy a belt for my vac. and a filter and explained to him a problem I was having, anyway he showed me and told me a few things I would have never known. I contacted DYSON and sure enough what the guy told me was fact, and they offered to fix it for FREE, when I was about to pay somebody for service on the machine. This place is honest and very reputable in my eyes. To not rip me off, and tell me the truth is all I ask for, and they delivered that with pride~ Thank you guys~! read more

This is THE best shop! Patrick and Kate (owners) are fabulous and the staff who work there are equally fabulous. They place a high priority on customer service. They are never too busy to help. The shop is well stocked with beautiful fabrics, machines and accessories. The classes are wonderful. I have purchased several sewing/embroidery machines there. Did a great job fixing up my machine!

Their hours are too limited for the working person / customer. Their hours are posted on the front door as Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. I drove from Aurora, Colorado, to Thornton, Colorado, after work. I arrived at 5:40 p.m. -- allowing just enough time to drop off a dyson vacuum head for repair. I RAN into the store and there were two women sitting there who eagerly and aggressively told me that they could not help me. They did not even ask me what my needs were, but, let me know that I was a BOTHER! All I wanted to do was just drop off the part for repair and I would come back at a later date to pick up from them. I was NOT EVEN ASKED the reason for my visit. I have been making an effort to get to their business for the past month. But, because of their limited hours.... WOW! They must have little to no need to make money! "If I ran my business & serviced / treated my PAYING CUSTOMERS the way Above & Beyond Sewing & Vacuum does, I would be out of business! Best customer service. I went to a store in longmont first and thought I would shop around. They priced matched a serger package for me. There customer service was great. I was 7 dollars short because my credit card had a daily limit on it. So they took it off so I didn't have to come back with the money. Also they sent me home with a used model to get started on because they had to order in the machine I purchased. In less then 24 hours my machine was shipped and ready to go. Everyone seems to be super personable and professional. When my vacuum quit working I brought it here. It was a very easy fix (which I feel super embarrassed about) and they decided not to charge me. Long story short, there was a reset button I should have pushed which would have fixed it without me having to bring it in. I appreciated their kindness and definitely recommend this place. If anything happens again to my vacuum (like if it actually breaks and I don't need to "just push" the reset button) this is where I plan to take it. read more

This account builds over time. Two years ago I took my Janome in to have it serviced. A few days later, I received a call from the shop saying my machine had a broken screw and it may not be able to be repaired at all! The next day they called me up and told me that they were able to solve the problem and I happily retrieved my machine. Now, two years later, I took in the same machine for service. Unfortunately this time I was told that I had a cracked screw and neither the screw, nor the assembly it was housed in, were available from Janome anymore. I could trade in my machine for one of their lovely new machines.....and I almost did that. However, following a nagging feeling I had, I called another shop and took it in. Today I am going to pick up my repaired machine. This other shop was able to purchase the new bobbin case I needed directly from Janome!.Go figure. I will never never ever use their repair shop again, no matter how far I have to drive. read more
