I was very disappointed in the communication and th workmanship that I encountered with Sassy Selections. I am a big supporter of Northglenn business as I grew up in and graduated from Northglenn. But unfortunately I am not a supporter of this business. I dropped a Nike jacket off on March 23rd to have a zipper replaced. I was quoted a turn around time of at least 10 days because they were very busy and running behind but I was ok with because she told me upfront. So time went by, and on April 4th I called and left a message and never got a response. So my wife called a couple of days later and was informed that there was a death in the family which I totally understood and gave them a pass. Tried again a few days later and was told that a person by the name of Julie was in charge of the jacket and would be in contact with me when she did finally contact me informed me that the wrong zipper that was ordered or came in and the new one was in and my jacket would be ready in a couple of days, which would have been the 15th. So because of my work schedule I was unable to pick up the jacket until the 20th. But upon looking at the sewing job the stitching for the zipper was inconsistent and loose and I have a feeling it will be coming apart soon. So maybe they specialize in different areas but this was not one of them including customer communication So as all my reviews, you can take your chances but I myself will not be returning. read more

Kathy did an absolutely EXCEPTIONAL job altering my wedding dress! She was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of my dress; the best fit, length and all fabrics. She comes to you, which makes life so much easier. You get to try on your dress and get fitted in the comfort of your own home. I didn't think that my dress needed many alterations, it just about fit perfectly - Once I met with Kathy, she noticed that it was see-through. She was able to put a thin layer of fabric throughout the whole front section which made a huge difference in how it looked and felt. She also recommended some movements in the dress and come to find out it was too tight under the arm . I am SO incredibly thankful that I picked a true professional to help with my Wedding Dress! Julie recently altered a bridesmaid dress for me and I couldn't be happier! Not only did she offer to come to my house for the fitting (which made my awkward, self conscious-self insanely happy), but the end result made me go from "ugh, bridesmaid dresses.." to posing in the mirror for 20 minutes, like a weirdo, after she left. If you're unsure about where to get something altered - definitely contact them. I went from dreading this entire process, to now going through my ill-fitting dresses that I have shoved in the back of my closet to decide on what to fix up next - which is a big deal for someone who basically lives in leggings and hoodies. I needed a bridesmaids dress hemmed so found Sassy's Selections via a quick yelp search. I called several places and compared quotes and was quoted one price via the daughter of Sassy's Selections. I showed up to my appointment and the mother pinned the dress and when I went to pay, she quoted me more money. I told her about the price the daughter promised and she honored that, but IMO I shouldn't of needed to mention anything. She then begins to lecture me about how they 'shouldn't be giving price quotes over the phone' (when I gave the daughter the designer and style of the dress so she could look up the dress) and 'this is how they lose money'... not my problem and VERY unprofessional to complain about your staff in front of your customers. The mom told me they were 7-10 days out for alterations but that the daughter would call when it was ready to be picked up. 13 days later and no word from Sassy's Selections. I called back and left a voicemail asking for an update. The voicemail promised I'd have a response within 24 hours. I waited another 24 hours, no call and the wedding is 8 days out at this point, so I called again on the 14th day. This time, I got the mom who said she'd call the daughter. The daughter called me back later that afternoon and said 'the dress was ready'.... ok, how long has it been ready for then?! I picked it up that afternoon and they didn't ask me to try on the dress again or anything to make sure the hemming was good. Went home and tried it on and the hemming is a little uneven, but nothing too noticeable and I fly out in 3 days for the wedding, so I'm burning the midnight oil anyways. They do the alterations out of their house, so I had to dodge a kid playing video games right when I walked in the door to try and pick up my dress. The mom didn't even get off the couch to hand it to me. Quality of work is mediocre, but the customer service would make me look elsewhere for future revisions. Yelp says it best, 'Meh. Kathy recently completed extensive alterations on my daughter's prom dress. We had purchased the dress off the rack at JCPenney knowing that we'd likely need to alter the hem. Kathy identified a couple of issues with the dress - the neckline wasn't cut evenly, and neither was the hem. She also suggested taking in some of the extra fabric around the waist to smooth the dress out. To be honest, I felt the dress looked *better* overall after Kathy completed the work than when we bought the dress of the rack. She was able to complete the work well in advance of prom, which was a definite plus! And, I didn't feel her fees were outrageous at all; in fact, I had anticipated needing to spend quite a bit more. Having her come to our house was a nice convenience - it actually made sense because my daughter could get dressed in her own room, Kathy could work with our schedule, and we didn't have to worry about getting to a studio by 5pm or other inconvenient times. However, we hit a couple of snags with schedules outside of anyone's control, which meant appointments that were later than we usually keep. It wasn't a big deal, though, and I'd hire Kathy again in a heartbeat for alterations. read more

I was throwing a surprise vow-renewal ceremony and reception for my friend, ordered a dress, and found out three days before the surprise that the dress didn't fit. It was several sizes too small. My heart sank. I thought I was probably out of luck and would be scrambling to find a new dress. I contacted Sassy's Selections to see if there was any hope for me, and Kathy happily took on the job. Within two days, the dress was completely altered. The work was meticulous, beautiful, and professionally done. Not only is the quality of work exceptional, the service is amazing. My daughters brand new prom dress was ruined! It had two holes in the black sheer dress and they used ugly black patches which were very visible to try and cover up their mistake! The dress was finally returned to us the day before prom and my daughter was crying and very upset! They finally paid us for the dress after numerous certified letters were sent!!!! read more

Well let me start out by saying Kathy is very nice, but I had way different expectations from my dress. I bought it in February, found Kathy after doing a lot of research. I envisioned adding a train to my dress so our first meeting was at Jo-Ann Fabric to pick out the material. My mom and i were at the store waiting and 5 min after my appointment time I sent her a text to double check I had the right time. She said i'm so sorry i'm headed to the hospital for an emergency (totally understandable, I know things happen). So I wait three weeks and FINALLY we go and get the material and have the first fitting. I paid the deposit she measured me and explained how everything would work. (she said she wouldn't take up the bottom until we got the sides taken in) The next appointment (she was 20 minutes late) and the dress was COMPLETELY altered. Sides, bottom everything. and it didn't fit, still too big!! She said Audrey this is what you told me you wanted. Last I knew I wasn't the seamstress that was taught how to measure properly so why would I instruct you on how much to take off? It was obvious this did not fit properly so back to the drawing board. She took the dress again and came back for my second fitting. Again 15 minutes late to the appointment. This time the dress was taken in on the side and the bottom enough to make it fit more properly the problem was my dress was all lace! When she did that the entire back of the dress buckled!! It looked so bad. This was when we thought we would make a lace train to cover that up. So finally my LAST fitting was last Friday the 19th (Kathy was again 30 minutes late this time, I had my mom and maid of honor there waiting with me) I put the dress on and I just hated every bit of it. It looked so bad in the back and I started balling. We added the train and it looked like i had a tail. Did not look how i envisioned or how she kept reassuring me it would turn out fine. I knew I couldn't wear this down the isle. That being said 19 days before my wedding I ended up going to davids bridal and purchasing one of the shelf and paid for rush alterations on it. Now after paying for the original dress, kathys alterations, my new dress, and new alterations i'm completely spent. I would not recommend her, nor would I ever use her again. She said it's the designer of my dress and that it was not well made....but I have a different opinion. I reached out to Kathy for my wedding dress alterations as well as alteration of my mom's dress and my maid of honor's dress. Kathy has a great eye and was able to pick out the little things that needed to be done to make the dress a good fit. She is very passionate about getting the alterations exactly right, down the littlest things. Although my wedding dress was complicated, she found a way to make it work and the dress fit BEAUTIFULLY for my wedding. I also appreciated her being conscious of our budget. THANK YOU Kathy so much! These guys really helped us out short notice. They were able to expedite our request and saved the day. We brought back some return business and they messed up our embroidery logo on one of our shirts and still had the nerve to charge us half price for it! I'm too nice and I should have said no. When I got home and told the owner of our business he wasn't impressed, asked that I reach out to them 1) to be fair and notify them of the issue and give them the opportunity to correct and 2) to get a possible resolution. Sassy's Selections ghosted and never returned our emails. They don't actually have a store front, business is run out of their home so I'm not sure how professional they really are. read more

Kathy was wonderful. She will come to your home or a location that is convenient for you which is wonderful. This made my life a lot easier. She altered my dress the way I wanted it to be done. When she brought it back for me to check on, a part of the fabric laid a little bit differently than I would've liked it to, so she pinned it again and took it home to fix. She brought it back and it was perfect. She also went out of her way to sew a piece of my corset to attach to the dress so it looks perfect. She's very personable and listens to all of your concerns to make sure that you are happy with your dress. I believe she can also make undergarments. The first appointment with Kathy went well. When it came to my second fitting, Kathy called saying she wasn't going to make it on time due to being at the Doctor with her husband. I understood and said we could reschedule. We rescheduled for the following Tuesday, ten minutes after the appointment time I get a call from her daughter saying she (Kathy) was in the hospital. Again, I understand things happen and I can't be upset over medical issue but it's a month before my wedding and need my second fitting. The daughter said the dress was completed, which I informed her that was impossible since I haven't even had my second fitting. She told me that she could finish it if needed. I chose to just get my dress returned to me instead. The next day the dress was returned to me but the bag was dirty and wrinkled as if it was dragged on the sidewalk, then the man that dropped it off tried to make me feel guilty that he had to come from the hospital to bring it to me. I understand illness happens, I feel sympathy for the situation, but as a company, there should still be some reliability on their end. I tried the dress on, and it looked awful. I am going to have to take it somewhere else to fix the areas that she did not complete and messed up on. read more
