Mahin was amazing start to finish. just to correct some other reviews, she is a single-woman operation working out of her house, not a large facility :) I reached out to her two months before our wedding, and she was quick in her alterations, offered needed advice regarding the size of the train, and did an amazing job on the bustle. She even had my mom come and explained to her how the bustle worked! She also offered reasonable pricing, and didn't require I pay her before she actually looked at the dress and provided a timeline (this was not true of many other places I looked!). Mahin did a wonderful job altering my wedding dress, and was a pleasure to work with. She put me at ease as soon as I walked through her door. Once I had the wedding dress on, and explained what I wanted done, she walked me through exactly how she would go about altering my lace dress, the type of bustle she would put in, and even suggested a couple alterations that I hadn't thought of. Once she got done pinning my dress, the cost of all the alterations she had to do was a bit over her original quote, but she honored the original quote which I appreciated. Mahin was so flexible with my schedule and working around holidays for fittings. Mahin did an amazing job on my wedding dress and for an extremely fair price. I took my dress to two other places (bridal boutiques) before I found Mahin and they were going to charge me almost double her price and weren't nearly as accommodating as Mahin. My dress had little cap sleeves that I wanted to be turned into straps and, while the seamstresses at the boutiques raised their eyebrows and asked why on earth I would do that, Mahin completely agreed with me and was eager to cut them off! In addition, she went the extra mile to put the bustles lower than the boutiques wanted it in order to show off my figure instead of hide it. Where to even start... Mahin is like a fairy god mother! I purchased a dress from a bridal shop and received it two sizes too small on a short timeframe. I took it to Mahin to get altered and when I tried it on I was so upset how I looked in it. It was not what I invisioned for myself on my wedding day. It was a super emotional experience and Mahin was my shoulder to cry on and she promised she would do what she could to help. She tried her hardest to make the dress work, but in the end we decided it was best to look for another dress that would fit my body type better. I was able to find my dream dress based on her recommendation and she did a flawless job to make it fit perfectly. Her bustles were absolutely amazing and made it so easy for my bridesmaids to fix my dress for my reception. My fiancé's custom shirt came in too small and the shop we got it at was unable to fix it in the short time before the wedding. I called her in a panic and she had me come over within an hour and had it done within another hour - she let out his shirt in every way she could even though men's is not her speciality. She was there for me when I needed someone the most and she did a phenomenal job. She also hemmed and did detail work on my bridal shower dress and a bridesmaid dress. If it wasn't for her, I would have not felt like a princess on my wedding day and my fiancé would have had a shirt that didn't fit. She is the best and I would recommend her - five stars! read more

So, my wife got her bridesmaid dress in a week before we she had to be in a wedding in Mississippi and it literally fell off of her it was so big. Like many of the reviews I have read we frantically called trying to find anyone that could fix it. We took it in and not only was she extremely nice and welcoming the quality of the work was outstanding. Took in the dress at 11:00 AM and got it back the same night at 5:00 PM. I wasn't happy with my experience. I was not helped into my dress for the fitting. My dress has 7 layers so I need help putting it on so all the layers lay correctly under the dress. Mahin very loosely laced up my corset dress and told me it was 2 sizes too small. I asked her about lacing it tighter as it was in the store, and she told me if she laced it that way it would break at the wedding. She also told me the bustier that I've worn 4 times was too small, so perhaps a matter of opinion? She also told me my dress would need to be hemmed before I even put my shoes on. My overall quote was over $700 for all the work she suggested. I got in my car and sobbed, because I couldn't understand how the dress in the store fit so perfectly and suddenly it was 2 sizes two small. I got a second opinion that very day. Once my corset was tied as I requested, it was maybe an inch smaller than I would have liked. This is probably due to the sample dress I tried on being stretched a little. All that needed to happen according to the second seamstress was the modesty panel needed to be moved an inch closer to the edge of the dress and the sleeves shortened as expected. And I needed a two inch heel to avoid getting the dress hemmed. I also got a third opinion to be sure, and she agreed. No hem needed, no major alterations. I was also assured corset dresses are meant to be laced snugly and I would not break my dress on my wedding day. However, this was so disturbing to me I paid extra to have additional stitching put in for peace of mine. read more

We used her for alterations for a dress last year and it was great but pricey. So we decided to call again this year and were quoted a price per item. My daughter took her dress to her and the woman changes the quote total of $30 and can't do anything for under $100! Wasted my daughter's time and then requested $10 for the consultation fee which was never discussed ahead of time. Don't understand why she quoted one price and then wanted at least another $70 to do the simple job! Extremely disappointed and aggravated and will not recommend again. read more
