I went here back in 2016 to have electrolysis done. After 4 mths and no signs of any results I stopped coming. Since then I have found someone else and after just a few treatments I saw results. Not just results but less pain and no ingrowns and cleaner environment. Yup I started getting ingrowns the size of boils when I started with Renee. I also started noticing hair from previous appts still on the bed which is gross. Currently my coarse hair is gone and I just have the light hair to deal with. Dont get me wrong Renee is a very nice person but if I'm gonna spend that kine of $ I want results. Do your research, find someone that makes you feel comfortable and clean and make sure you're getting results electrolysis is not cheap look at it as an investment so choose wisely. I'm the type of person to give the benefit of the doubt and I know sometimes people have bad days. So I decided to stick with her for a few months because the convenient location. I'm just overall sad because this is my last step into getting a major operation done and I wasted a few months of no results. It was super super painful to the point of each zap my leg would lift on its own almost like shocking nerves. I'm not saying electrolysis is supposed to be easy because it is not. But as soon as I experienced another electrolysis person I wouldn't have known any better. Extremely different results and also a way better experience from Ashley in Kailua, love her by the way. Highly recommend her or her mother Crystal. But anyways, back to why I came to the conclusion that Renee wasn't the best fit for me. She would always cut me short on my time with her. Sometimes I went in for only 15-20 minutes and still pay a co pay. She would be consistent on her phone and always looking at the clock behind her. It was just so obvious each time she would look at the clock it was just awkward for me to know that she's looking at the clock to give me the hint to end the session. Also, I would get the feeling sometimes she would either put it extremely high voltage so I forcefully call it quits. I feel like it could be a little more sanitary there would be days that she doesn't clean the area before she starts or even after. Left me with many ingrown hairs and a few boils. So now I'm few months behind on getting my surgery. From this point on I'm playing catch up. read more

Before going to Renee I debated hair removal options and places for months. Reading, researching and trying to get price quotes. I decided to not do waxing because I felt that I if I am going to be spending money on hair removal why not have it be a more permanent solution. So my options were left at Laser or Electrolysis. And with my research I found that electrolysis is the only FDA approved truly permanent hair removal option and can remove even the lightest colored hairs. This lead me to my final decision. I decided to go to Renee because of a good location, quality facility, good reviews and reasonably priced. Now that I have been going to her for a almost 2 months I am very glad I decided on Renee. She is very lovely person, makes you feel comfortable and doesn't waste a minute, gets right to working on you. Which makes the electrolysis experience much more enjoyable and relaxing. And it really is not very painful during and after, nor embarrassing. Even if it was painful the results are worth it. I've gone for 2 different areas and 2-3 times for each area and I see a huge difference. Hair is much less noticeable, it feels so nice not having to worry about managing the hair on my body so much. I have never waxed or tweezed any area of my body (except tweezing my eyebrows) which she says makes the electrolysis process much better with faster results. So I recommend not waxing or tweezing! She really works with on cost with you because you can go as often as you want for however much time works for you so there is great flexibility. Also, her "office" where you get the treatments done is very clean and comfortable. Had my first appointment with Renee on Friday for a brazilian wax, I bought a Groupon and everything was great. About face is in an urgent care which was very easy to find and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Renee's room had a nice feeling to it with some personal touches that were totally Hawaii loved it! Renee is very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I actually fall asleep during my hair removal sessions, if that means anything! In addition to electrolysis, she helped me avoid a major keloid scar on my face after it went on a date with the sidewalk. I started electrolysis treatments June 2018 in Atlanta with great results before I moved to Honolulu for 5months. Unfortunately, Honolulu has limited options when it comes to electrolysis. I had 5months of treatments with Renee before I moved back to Atlanta May 2019. During my appointment with my primary electrologist in Atlanta, I was told majority of the hair was tweezed and not treated properly. As a result, I developed a lot of ingrown hair. This was very disappointing considering how far I had come with my progress, only to waste 5months of money, time and no progressive results. In addition, appointment times are always cut short. I just had the new Dermalogica BioActive Peel! My skin looks and feels amazing. I'm doing a series of 6 peels, but after the first one I can really see the difference. My skin isn't red at all, but brighter, and I'm really excited that it was able to break up some of the pigment damage due to sun exposure. Renee also gave me two samples to try after my peel is done in 3 days. A new Charcoal Masque and Hydrablur Primer. The Brazilian wax here is probably the WORST ever! NO JOKE! If you have a voucher, ask for a refund!!! Trust me, you'll be saving your time and money. I bought me and my friend, Mer F. a voucher to this place. I paid $29 for each voucher. The total value of the voucher was worth $60. So of course, when I saw this deal, I had to jump on it. Most places, charge $50 + for a Brazilian Wax. So it was a no-brainer! We wanted an appointment on Monday, but Renee said she was closed. Her hours were never mentioned on the voucher. But fast forward some... we were able to settle on a day, just unfortunately the time was ugh! 2p.m. in Kahala for 2 Leeward Coast Girls = unREAL traffic going home. But we figured, hey our lady parts would be spick and span... LET'S DO THIS! Or so we thought... (-_-) Renee's area of practice is located inside one of the back rooms of Kahala Urgent Care Clinic. Just walk in and let one of the MAs know that you're there to see Renee. They'll let her know that you're waiting... in the waiting room with people with possibly contagious illnesses. I saw one girl hacking her lungs out a few feet away from me. God bless germs!!! Everything Aurora W. said is true. Renee's room is tiny. Barely enough room for 2 people. I was kinda weirded out by the fact that I had to drop my pantaloons right there in front of her. I know, I know... she's gonna see the full monty anyways, but still... Maybe I wanna surprise her? Lol... Renee asked me if it was my first time, and I lied and said, "yes." I wanted to see if she would walk through the steps with me. Instead she look kinda annoyed with my answer like she didn't want to wax people who had never had a wax before. But whatevers... During the waxing process, my skin was burnt. She said, "That happens when it's your first time." I didn't realize how bad it was until I saw the blood my VS panties. Damn, I loved those leopard panties!!! To her credit she did apply some Neosporin. Being waxed by Renee seemed really fast, but when I went home and did my inspection... I knew why. She totally MISSED the labia. I could have waxed myself better. And OMGeee, I had so much leftover wax... I ended up having to rip wax off of myself. It was so bad, a razor was needed. What I found weird that she didn't wear gloves during the procedure. No wonder my labia was totally MISSED?!? Also, she poured oil into my hand, but I just patted myself with it. I didn't feel like all out rubbing myself in front of her :-\ awkward no? Don't get me wrong, Renee seems like a nice, sarcastic, and funny Aunty you wanna hang out with and have a beer with after a long day's work... just not someone you want getting close to your Miss Thing. read more

Do not go here for Brazilian waxes. DO NOT. It was hands down the WORST brazilian I've ever had (and I've had many of varying quality). I bought a discount voucher. Scheduling was a little annoying as she didn't really call me back, but preferred to text, then sometimes forgot to get back to me, but overall that's not a big problem and not the reason for the low rating. She was friendly and nice enough, overall. First off, her room is in the Kahala Urgent Care Clinic and I don't like that. While parking was easy and finding it was not hard, who wants to walk through all the germs inherent in a clinic like that?! Her room was small and cramped, and didn't strike me as overly clean, but also that's not the reason for the low rating. She was TERRIBLE at waxing. It hurt more than any other time I've gone. And the one time that I made a (not very loud) noise, she seemed bothered by it. Even that, though, is not the problem. One expects a little pain. She also complained to me about someone scheduling a waxing who is a "virgin" (has never had a brazilian). Really? You're selling discount vouchers for them and then are bothered by having a new client who's never done it? The problem is that I just got home and looked in a mirror and realized that she only waxed a tiny portion of what is supposed to be included in a Brazilian wax!!!! I was surprised when she said she was done because I didn't see how she could have gotten the hair that fast. I looked down at what I could see, and pointed out a huge amount of hair she had missed. She did one more strip at my insistence. But it was a fraction of what was left. Now my hair is rather light, but it was fairly long and not hard to see unless perhaps she doesn't see very well. Also, I asked her to leave a little up top, I told her I wasn't picky - landing strip, triangle, just something so I wouldn't be completely bald. What she left is completely uneven! Truly, I wish I could show you a picture of this because it's laughable. She didn't wear gloves and I didn't see her wash her hands. Then she gave me oil at the end to put on myself, and wiped the bottle that she was pouring the oil out of onto my (unwashed) hand. It was gross and of course I didn't want to put that oil on my private parts. Who knows who else's hands have touched it. Very unprofessional. When I got home and pulled out my mirror, I was SHOCKED. I mean, I've had less good waxing jobs where I had to pull out the tweezers afterwards and I was prepared to do that, but there's no possible way I could get all the hair she missed with tweezers. I still can't believe it. Literally she didn't even attempt to remove huge swathes of hair. Save your time and money and go elsewhere for waxing. As an update - I texted her my disappointment and she did offer to have me come back for her to fix it. Apparently she misunderstood my desire to have a little hair up top as not wanting a complete wax?! Seems crazy, I know, but at least she offered to fix it. However, I really have no desire to go back to her establishment ever again. She may be fine for electrolysis if you don't mind going through the Urgent Care Clinic, but not for waxing. read more
