If you're craving punugulu and mirapakay bhaji, Abhiruchi in Sunnyvale is an absolute must-visit. I've been five times so far, and it has never been a miss--always a hit! Honestly, it's the best I've had in the U.S. The punugulu are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while the mirapakay bhaji packs just the right amount of spice. It's a to-go place with no seating, but there's plenty of parking, so you can enjoy your meal in your car. I do wish they had seating options, but the food more than makes up for it. I've also heard great things about their thali, so that's definitely on my list to try next time. Highly recommend it!

We ordered catered food from here for our daughter's birthday party for 30 guests and the food was phenomenal. We got mirchi bajji, gutti vankaya curry, Mango pappu, tindora fry, sambar, vegetable dum biryani, gulab jamun, double ka meetha and rotis. The gutti vankaya, tindora fry, sambar, biryani were so tasty, absolutely delicious. The mirchi bajji was spicy and accompanied with onions and lime juice! We felt the Mango dal was a little more oily than we would like, but tasty nonetheless. We ordered mild spice for everything as it was a kids birthday party and everything was mildly spicy and delicious. All the guests raved about the food and took leftovers home too. The food was freshly prepared and the quantity was generous too. We coordinated with Anitha garu for this order and she was so helpful in suggesting different items for the party and personally ensured that the food arrived on time! Overall, the taste, service and value for money were amazing! Highly recommend!

Outstanding. Undiscovered. Togo only. They pivoted from a dine in to completely togo business. Incredible. Have to go back and try the rest of the menu; consistent with other reviews. The authentic taste seems to be preserved without compromise for profit. Not aware of any restaurant which has this much pride in their food. Can see why there are so many accolades for the quality of their food in the other reviews. All about portion size and preserving authentic taste. Not optimized for profit. No mandatory 20% tip as a cashier hovers over you when paying like Starbucks. The dine in photos are obsolete. There is no dine in area now. Only togo. Other review comments on portion size and quality is better than any other South Indian restaurant seem accurate. Not a destination for Instagram diners. Female owned and not geared to generating returns for investors. Extension of home cooking. Vegetables fresh, high quality fresh coconut in chutneys Pre pandemic a 5 star dosa experience was a deep brown perfectly crispy shell with filling in the center. Mostly hollow and mostly shell. Post pandemic with increase in labor costs for sit down restaurants, the pivot to togo means the experience has to change. Can't have the 3ft mostly hollow cylindrical dosas stay crispy in a container. Nobody buys the hollow dosas in a togo container. The steam renders it soggy and there is little logic in paying 13$ for a soggy mess. Eat the dosa ASAP after ordering. I ate it in the car. The ToGo dosa changed to a cheese/potato masala/red onion/peas/carrot filling where very little of the dosa is an empty shell. Unlike the sit down experience most of the dosa is filled. Raises the cost. Very filling. No appetite for dinner. Other restaurants serve a soggy dosa but not here. This is the equivalent of many dosas in one because of the amount of inside stuffing. Can split between 2 people. Was full after eating 25%. Spring Dosa = Spicy Sauce, potato masala, red onions, cheese, cilarntro, peas, carrot, cabbage, podi. Melted Cheese kept the dosa hot. Ate in car. Best experienced fresh to capture the aroma and texture of hot melted cheese. Like a giant quesadilla for 12.50. They use hIgher quality cheese, not the standard salty low grade cheese pizza parlors use. Mind blowing experience with a dosa crust crispier than a grilled cheese sandwich, the different flavors and textures with the 3 different chutneys and melt in mouth cheese and potato mixture. LIke a cheese stuffed baked potato but 10x better. The red onions bring out the flavor of the masala. They could cost reduce with a cheaper yellow onion. This is closer to a shallot. The peas and carrots didn't have the overcooked frozen veg texture. Don't know how they did this. Bright green and crisp. Tasted like fresh peas. Coconut chutney: superior to madras cafe and ulavarcharu. Nut watered down. Thick. Tempered with small curry leaves, dal, mustard seeds. Can see the fresh small curry leaves. Not iold dried out leaves. Looks like fresh coconut in the chutney. Peanut Chutney: can see the tempered cut bright dried red chili peppers. Not old dark red ones. The flavor changed from a first bite cool sensation to a deepening peanut taste and slight spice you savor the bite. Tremendous. Definitely higher quality than the ulavarcharu peanut chutney. Spinach chutney: never seen this before. Delicious. Slightly spicy. Spring dosa must be 1k+ calories. 2 people meal. Overate but delicious. Reduced appetite for 2 days. Incredible binge experience. Equivalent to a super large quesadilla and more. Have to go back for the other items. Their idly might be better than idly express.

I stopped by Abhiruchi for a takeout Veg Thali (about $20), and it really hit the spot. The order was ready fast, and the food felt like something straight out of a home kitchen, light, flavorful, and not oily. The Thali had papad, roti, rice, rasam, sambar, palak dal, chana sabji, tindora sabji, and a tasty South Indian-style pulao. Tindora was top notch! Everything was fresh and comforting. Portion size was solid too. Definitely coming back!

5 stars for the portion size and value. Whenever I visit the South Bay Area lately S Indian food is my go to. As a vegetarian, it's tasty, spicy, and satisfying. Plus I think Indian food tastes better up in the Bay than LA (don't @ me lol). I'm glad I found Abhiruchi and ordered the thali. So much food for $14.99. It's a no frills take out spot, and I love that. I just want good, authentic food at a reasonable price which isn't easy to come by around these parts.

Whoa! So much rice to go.

One of my Sunnyvale favorites. Most dosas can be made vegan on request (with oil instead of ghee).

I got the: Savory soufflé pancake (I forgot the actual name of it) but it had a delicious hollandaise sauce with eggs on top and thick slices of bacon. It was really good!! I would give it a 7.5/10. I am not the biggest pancake person but I loved the savory aspect to this one. Pandan latte: I was quite full from the pancakes so I wasn't able to finish this, but it tasted good! I didn't really taste the pandan though unfortunately. As just a regular latte though I think it did the trick. I would give it a 5.5/10

NOTES: * Went on a Tuesday around 11:30 AM and was seated immediately. * There's parking in the back as well as street parking. We had no trouble finding a spot, but I can see parking being more difficult during peak hours. * The aesthetics of this place are sooo cute! If I had to describe it in two words, it'd be pink and flowers. They even have a pink toilet... that's all I'm going to say LOL WHAT WE GOT: FOOD: Giwa Special Salmon Tower: 5/5 This was basically a three-tier tower with everything you need to assemble your own salmon bagel! * Top tier: Smoked salmon, capers, fresh onions, and flowers (I don't think these were edible, probably just for aesthetics). * Middle tier: Lemon slices, tomato slices, and cucumber slices. * Bottom tier: Plain bagels, guacamole, and cream cheese. Soooo cute and aesthetic! I love a good salmon bagel, so getting to assemble our own was fun too. Everything tasted great! My only complaint is that my friend and I didn't quite know how to portion out the ingredients between the bagels, so we ended up with an awkward salmon-to-bagel ratio by the end LOL. Still, would definitely recommend! Korean Palace Patty Benedict: 5/5 Korean-style beef patty with grilled onions, hummus garlic mayo, and a poached egg on a housemade bun. It also came with a choice of potatoes or salad (we got the potatoes), along with lemon hollandaise and teriyaki sauce. Really yummy! I loved the fusion of flavors, and everything went together nicely. Would definitely recommend! DRINKS: Jeju Young Tangerine Tea Pot: 4/5 This was a nice palate cleanser! Light and refreshing, and I'd consider ordering it again. Uji Matcha Cream Latte: 5/5 I'm always a little hesitant to order matcha since it can be hit or miss, but this one did not disappoint! It wasn't overly sweet and was really yummy. Would order again! EXPERIENCE: The aesthetics of this place are already a 10/10, but the staff made the experience even more special! When I went to the bathroom (and saw the pink toilet LOL), one of the workers came up to my friend and asked if it was my birthday. After my friend confirmed, she told her they had a little surprise for me. When I came back, the staff came out with a complimentary slice of matcha cheesecake, a sparkler, and a rose while singing Happy Birthday! It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture and honestly made my day even more special. I really appreciated how attentive and kind everyone was! OVERALL: 5/5 Loved everything about this place! The food and drinks were delicious, the interior was sooo pretty, and the staff were incredibly sweet. Definitely recommend checking this place out, especially if you're looking for somewhere cute to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. Would love to come back!

We first visited about 1.5-2 years ago for dinner, and it was easily a 5/5 experience. The food, drinks, and dessert were all fantastic. We enjoyed it so much that we were excited to return. Unfortunately, our second visit in October 2026 was a completely different experience. We opted for the prix fixe menu and selected a seafood appetizer and yogurt dip. We were then informed that the seafood appetizer was unavailable, and our server offered hummus as a substitute. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hummus dishes we've tasted. It had an unpleasant burnt, bitter flavor, with what appeared to be caramelized butter practically floating on top. We sent it back, and our server offered to replace it with a salad. That salad never arrived. The main courses took an exceptionally long time to arrive. At that point, we were just sitting there waiting for food, having had only one appetizer between the two of us. The chicken was decent, but the vegetable entrée was well below average. When it came to dessert, our server asked if we'd like it prepared, mentioning it would take about 10 minutes. We said yes, but it took over 20 minutes to arrive. To be fair, the dessert--semolina with ice cream--was delicious and one of the few highlights of the evening. Service was equally disappointing. At one point, our server accidentally spilled water while refilling a glass and assured us he'd have it cleaned up right away. That never happened. There was a consistent pattern of promising to take care of things and simply not following through. To top it all off, when the check arrived, we noticed an additional $4 charge for the hummus--the very dish that had been offered as a replacement for an unavailable appetizer and that we had sent back because it tasted terrible. What bothered us most wasn't just the food or the delays, but the overall lack of attentiveness and accountability. The service felt indifferent, almost as though our experience didn't matter. It's disappointing to see such a dramatic difference between two visits to the same restaurant. We know Meyhouse is capable of delivering an excellent dining experience because we've experienced it firsthand. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of that standard. First visit: 5/5. Second visit: 2/5. I genuinely hope this was an off day, but it has certainly made us hesitant to return.

With this in mind I had high expectations - service, ambiance, decor were all vibe and def. makes me want to go back. Location is smart - parking is fair but being within a modern style hotel def. brings the right amount of traffic and liveliness. There is a cute outdoors area and small garden with a beer trolley and pizza served outdoors (part of Valley Goat, I think but not quite clear lol) Anyways, pricing also was not bad and suited the menu and location fairly - so in the end it really just came down to food (&& prob my issues with saltiness...lol) Let's Dig In: (1) Blueberry pancakes - one of the better items, fluffy small stack pancakes, just a bit too sweet overall. Needed a cream to cool off the sticky sweetness. (2) Potato Crepe - a rip off of one of my fave Viet dishes (Banh Xeo) that simply DID NOT work. What makes Banh xeo so good is the light and airy batter - the potato and cheese shell (aka batter) was overly salty and just too oily + the filling & vinaigrette also leaned salty. (3) Coconut Labneh - this was ok, nothing to rave about overall. (4) Goat Empanadas - this was also sadly just ok, the meat inside had a great flavor but overall the whole thing ate a bit dry. (5) Yucatan Pork Belly & Tomato - this was fair, there was a lot going on with the salty & saucy-ness but the dish overall had lots of flavor and texture. (6) Heirloom Tomato Salad - similar sauce and texture to the above, tasty just a tad bit too much going on overall, esp. for a tomato dish that should've eaten more light & fresh. (6) Spicy handroll dip - loved the nori chips, but just wished the dip went a bit lighter with the chili crisp and sauce, again...too saucy and salty which def. took away from the dish. (7) The Biscuits - this was good, flaky and tasty with a unique butter and chili-like jam. Cocktails: honestly can't remember what we got but overall they tasted similar - too sweet/sour and more like juice (booze was too faint).
