My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try this spot for a while since we frequent Dama Grill nextdoor. We ordered takeout and were pleasantly surprised by how cheap the order came out to be (thinking that Abhiruchi just got set up on the app and was offering discounts to entice potential customers). However, I was underwhelmed by the food. The butter chicken was delicious -- well seasoned and not *too* overwhelmingly buttery/creamy. Gobi manchurian was also superb, but the batter was a little heavy so the cauliflower didn't maintain it's crispiness when it arrived at my place. I was most excited for the gutti vankaya (eggplant curry), but it was bland. The garlic naan was limp and flavorless as well. Disappointing. read more

Perfect lunch. Walked here and ordered lamb kurma, garlic naan and chai hot. Flavors in the chai were warm and soft, delicious. I paused briefly to enjoy the tea while the kitchen busily prepared my meal. Staff were courteous and gracious. The kurma was full of mystical delights in a very smooth subtle sauce. Naan was fresh, with sesame seeds and just enough garlic to stand on its own; I however smothered it and it was devoured quickly dipped in small tastes of the Kurma. Crazy storefront on Venice Blvd but walk back to the dining room. The music and romantic videos playing on multiple screens completed the experience of warm south Asian hospitality. I am a biryani snob and make the best biryani but the vijayawada chicken biryani here is the best biryani I have ever had. Kudos to the chef!! I have demoted my biryani to #2. Everything about this biryani was exceptional. The rice was perfectly cooked. It comes with one bone in chicken piece and boneless chicken pieces on the top. Both versions of chicken were sooooo juicy and tender. I wish the biryani had a bit more spice but I tend to like things a little spicier. The biryani even had half a boiled egg, fancy! The flavors were just divine! A side of raita was also included and it was also really good. A must for biryani! Can't wait to order this again and also try out their other biryanis. Garlic naan was delicious as well. Vegetable samosas were good, came with green chutney and tamarind sauce. Great authentic cuisine. Came here for dinner with a friend for dinner on a weekday around 7pm, and it's an authentic spot for Indian food. There is free parking available in the back as well as metered parking in the front. Credit cards accepted. It seems that they do a lunch buffet, although the buffet is not available as a dinner option. We had garlic naan, chicken tandoori, Kadai curry, and veg Manchurian, and it was plenty of food - we had leftovers. The waiter did verify with us if we could handle spicy food since the curry and Manchurian were spicy, and they indeed were, although they were still manageable. The garlic naan came with two pieces cut in half and was very warm. The chicken tandoor came out sizzling on a hot grill and had a rich red color - that was my favorite dish. read more

Abhiruchi Grill's buffet is delicious! It's our first time dining here on 2/23/24 and glad they had the buffet on a Friday. Lunch buffet is about $20 which includes tax on Tuesday-Friday only. They offer a good selection. We enjoyed all the food! the butter chicken was delicious. They had a good amount of spice not too much where you can't enjoy the food. The spicy ones had a good kick to it. The chips are amazing! Dipping it in the green and brown sauce were match made in heaven! The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. They came by often to check up on us. The ambiance is clean and relaxing. Looking outside you wouldn't think it was a nice place until you walk in. They have a big place to accommodate large groups. They also have parking in the rear of the restaurant which makes it so convenient. If you like Indian food, definitely try this place. We are glad we found this gem. We went in very hungry and with lots of expectations. Service was good, but we were there late, so the observation might not be accurate. Food was mediocre. We had chicken chilli. It didn't taste fresh, tasted nothing like chicken chilli, had way too much soy sauce, and saugy. Gobi Manchurian was also saugy and didn't taste that good. Veggie biryani was too hot to be able to taste anything and it had way too much spice mix. This item doesn't work for anyone with mild to medium spice level preference. They sell biryani as medium spicy, but its really 8 out of 10 in terms of spice level. Palak panner was good, but the side of rice was undercooked. Breads were good. Overall this place was just ok. How far and for how long will you travel to savor an unforgettable meal? Do you promise not to grumble when there is excruciating and non-relenting traffic? For me, I would travel far and wide......and suck up the traffic. With this mantra, I recently was rewarded when I visited Abhiruchi Grill. The restaurant has a strong South Indian menu and serves halal meat. There are numerous vegetarian choices. From the outside, the restaurant is non-assuming. On entering, one finds well-appointed tables with tableware neatly in position. I was interested in the Kerala combination of appam (bowl shaped rice flour crepes that are crispy on the outside) and chicken curry. The appam was outstanding and made just before serving. The chicken curry took me to another level. While there are many South Indian types of chicken curry, this was Abhiruchi chicken curry. The chicken itself, was tender and had a freshness about it. The chicken pieces were married to and swimming in a thick, peppery gravy that had an intense flavor of South Indian spices. I enjoyed every drop of this silky chicken gravy with the appam. On the whole, it was a very tasty, different and satisfying experience. What about the service? They kept checking on me regularly and provided excellent service. I am Thai and I love curry so much included Indian curry. Today trying this restaurant doesn't make me regret. Curry is the hit for both of them. I try Abhiruchi goat curry, (Small chunks of goat(with bone) slow cooked to tenderness in onion tomato masala gravy. ) its taste great and authentic indian curry. There is only the meat is too tough for me. Chicken Tikka Masala Roasted chunks of chicken cooked in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce. Is perfect!. Lassi is good too. Service is warm welcoming from the waiter. He is saying no you can not have spicy on my curry because it s already spicy. Pick up was horrible i have called for 2 paneer tikka but they wrote only one. Then not accepting mistake. It is not my first time visiting the place, I've visited multiple times and every time, the environment gives me a sense of calmness. Lets talk about the food here, first of all, the best goat dum biryani in town. They serve it only on Fridays and the weekends. For appetizer, I always go for chicken majestic, because of its savory flavour and the tender chicken, cooked very well in red onion paste. For curry, I like to get Chicken Kurma because its aromatic scent mixed with special Indian Spices, and of course the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken. We have been looking for a decent Indian restaurant on the Westside, finally visiting Abhiruchi based mostly on its favorable reviews. First impressions were good with an open, clean experience redolent of coriander, turmeric, and other spices. Seating was open; the clientele by all appearances seemed quite familiar with Indian cuisine, So far so good. the strong points were very good, including the curries, especially the lamb and chicken. Nan, plain and ghee, were at a high standard, freshly baked and soft. As a biryani fan, I ordered the shrimp biryani which unfortunately was a bit disappointing in that it lacked flavor and had fewer shrimp than I would like, In general, would request mild spice since the overall heat seems ratcheted up a few notches. Have been consistently disappointed b the lack of kulfi though other dessert standards (rice pudding, Gulab Jamun) were fine. Service is fast and efficient. The prices were fair. I got delivery from here and I ordered a chicken dish and man, they give you a lot of chicken! :) It was like equivalent to a whole chicken it seems. I also tried their daal. If I was eating indoors, I would def try their buffet sometimes. I heard the butter chicken here is amazing, but I haven't tried it. The chicken dish I got was either chicken tikka or chicken tikka masala, can't recall. Would def order from here again to try more dishes.
