He was so welcoming and attentive! Ambiance: The restaurant is large with many tables. There's a sink to wash your hands but no bathroom. That would be the only slight inconvenience. For parking, there's a free parking lot behind the restaurant, so please use this! Didn't know this, so I street parked near the restaurant as there were some curbs that had two hours of free parking. Absolutely shocked by the positive reviews, because this place was the worst Indian food I've had in LA. We ordered three different dishes, apparently in three different shades of disappointment. The naan was too salty and missing the fluffy pockets I love. The palak paneer and masala were pastel colored and tasted heavy on cream, light on spices. I wasn't looking for a five-alarm fire, just evidence that seasoning had participated. And I'm typically sensitive to spice and heat! My husband got food poisoning afterward. I live very close by and have always smelled the food walking by so I finally gave it a try. Walking in we were seated right away as most people seemed to get take out. Atmosphere is a little funny, not much going on. They brought us water and took our order quick. Food looked and smelled delicious. My only critique would be I thought some of the serving sizes would be a little larger for the price, especially considering it didn't come with rice. All items we got were very good, my favorite was the shrimp tandoori. Service was friendly and prompt. We ordered garlic naan, basmati rice, chicken tikka masala, and the malai kofta. While I found everything to be fairly tasty.. I think a 4.8/5 overall is pretty high. Maybe I need to try new things there when I pay a visit next time. I also found the price point to be a bit high too honestly. There are only about 5-6 spots up front and the next building over has a tow sign on it. We looped around about 5 times before a spot opened up out front. The restaurant is quite spacious and empty when I went to pick up, but to be fair, I went in the mid-afternoon just before it was to close until dinnertime-- I assume that Tandoori Eats gets busier during their peak lunch and dinner hours. I ordered an assortment of dishes, including chicken tikka masala (medium spicy), samosas, and garlic naan. Everything was flavorful, smooth, and delicious-- the only thing is that the chicken tikka masala wasn't very spicy for medium level, and I would've loved to have had a bit more kick to it. I think this is the best Indian food in Los Angeles at the moment. Hole in the wall location serving up truly excellent homemade dishes with lots of love.
