Excellent service by Freddie as soon as we walked in- menu is extensive and creative and HALAL. Chili isn't halal but clearly and respectfully stated- no fear of contamination as it's stored securely and separated. Chicken and waffles was amazing- dogs were pretty good- turkey bacon was weak I'd recommend deen brand halal beef bacon as it's MUCH better especially with hot dogs. Overall would return.

I personally really enjoyed the combo meals here! First of all, service was friendly. Our cashier was helpful by allowing us to sample some sauces before we committed to a flavor for our wings. I went with combo 7 which includes a chicken sandwich, 4 wings, and crinkle fries for about $18. I recommend hot honey!! We thought it was the better sandwich compared to the other one we got which was just mild. Their portion sizes could be slightly better though because some tenders are big whereas other ones are much smaller, but they still didn't give an additional piece to even it out.. I do think managing consistency would take it to the next level. Another recommendation is to just be more generous with the fries purely from a customer value perspective :) It took a while to get our food because it was being made fresh, but I appreciated chicken and fries that were still hot and crispy!

I was craving fried chicken in LA and stumbled across the yelp page. The pictures drew me in because the chicken look so crispy and exactly what I wanted. Bonus that the fries looked bomb too. We ordered the chicken and waffles combo with the crinkle cut fries, the elote Cheeto fries, and the 6 piece honey garlic soy wings with thick cut fries. Everything was really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoyed dining in their casual set up and I liked the fact that we found parking in their lot[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also like how they have a variety of other menu items, such as hot dogs and chicken sandwiches. And their food is halal which is super cool

The service was great! I ordered Mac& Cheese fries. It was okay. Would have liked for the cheese to have more flavor. Got about 5 pieces of chicken which felt more crisp than chicken. The plate is a good size! If I could do a do over as a first, I would have ordered a sandwich they looked tastier. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went around 10pm there was space to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First try and totally love it!! Really good halal fried chicken wings and fries. Peaceful environment and a good spot for halal wings.

I ordered the chicken strips with fries, while my partner ordered a two-piece chicken dinner with macaroni salad and spicy rice. Although we had to wait a little while for the food, it arrived hot. We both agreed that it was some of the best fast-food fried chicken we had ever eaten. The chicken was moist and the batter was crispy. My fries were good, and my partner's macaroni salad and spicy rice were both flavorful. We especially loved the biscuit. I also couldn't help noticing that although the dining room feels like something of a relic, it is very well maintained. There were no dirty tables and no trash on the floor. I was genuinely shocked when the cashier came out to ask how everything was and whether we needed anything else. Most fast-food chains seem determined to eliminate as much human interaction as possible. Pioneer Chicken was a refreshing reminder that fast food can still be friendly, clean and satisfying. Pioneer Chicken is a winner in my book!

I ordered the fries which were actually pretty good. They were definitely seasoned, but they weren't heavily in taste sense. It's where they grill certain items, lobster, ribeye, skirt steak, the intestinal part of a chicken (?). So, not tacos but grilled meats so we stayed. twist. First of all, it's a lovely space. In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.
