We found this place while we were driving by and decided to give it a shot. The chicken bowl that we ordered was extremely fresh and the chicken was very tender and delicious. Make sure to ask for the dipping sauces as they have a few variations that definitely take the bowl to the next level. I would definitely recommend this place. It's a great place to stop by for lunch and they also have a milk, tea and Boba spot in the same location. I've been here twice already, and the staff has always been super helpful and super generous.

Food was great, super crunchy chicken wings and the service was super fast. Place was small but great vibes for a quick bite.

This time, I tried the Spicy Chicken Bowl. I've ordered from here multiple times in the past. But those orders have always been the chicken wings, which are great. The chicken in the bowl was juicy, flavorful, and the spice level was just perfect. Had a nice burn, but not a lingering burn. Rice was great, held everything together nicely. You would think rice would be easy, but too many places mess it up. But, now onto the bad parts. The pickles didn't really mesh well with the rest of the dish for me. They felt out of place with this order. The coleslaw was warm (as it always seems to be here), which kind of throws off the flavor for me since I like my coleslaw cold. The pasta noodles were just okay. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing particularly special either. But even with those setbacks, for the price $13.75 for the bowl, you get plenty of pretty good food. I still recommend this place.

I ordered many different kinds of food, and the chicken was great, and the spicy pork and pasta were so delicious. Make sure to try it in downtown

Am here this time to rate their matcha which they added to the menu. The strawberry matcha sells out quickly it seems but its really good. The brown sugar boba is great too! The service was quick and friendly.

SO GOOD. Fast service, friendly staff, tasty food. The homemade potato chips are really good. Recommend to try it if you're in the area!

Overall: 3.3/5 (Postmates delivery) We ordered on Postmates and the food came in about 35 minutes. Everything was packaged nicely in its own box. Unfortunately after our meal, we felt unsatisfied. Sadly, the food looks better than it tasted. Better Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($11.75): The chicken in this sandwich was the best of the three. The fried chicken piece was big, had a good amount of meat, and was crispy. The flavor could have been better and wasn't consistent. It's not your typical gochujang flavor too and has more of the chili powder taste. 24 Oz Boneless Fried Chicken Cup - Sweet & Soy ($13.50): The sweet & soy tasted weird; I didn't like it. The boneless fried chicken were very small in dimensions and barely had any meat on them - kinda like popcorn chicken. Not worth it & wouldn't get again. 1/2 Pound Soy Garlic Wings ($8.95): This has the best flavor of the three. It came with 2 wings and 2 drumsticks which were pretty small. Half the potato chip fries were undercooked. The onion rings weren't bad. The shoestring fries were soggy and not crispy at all. Creamy Kimchi Fries ($5): These were thicker fries than the ones provided with the chicken sandwich and wings. These fries were also soggy and not crispy but tasted a little better. The creamy kimchi on top is really good though. I do wish they gave more of the kimchi.

Chicken Spicy Fired Fried Rice Bowl (garlic sauce not in picture)

Walked more than a mile to try it out. Not bad and not spicy (I don't usually eat spicy spicy food). Fried rice had chicken/other meat too so it's not only the lonely chicken on top. Garlic "buttery" sauce initially was great then kinda became saucy for me. The pasta salad was good too but too much saucy for me (not a fan of too much sauce / and mayonnaise like taste). Definitely worth the walk. Iced tea without boba should be cheaper (not a fan of boba).

This chicken burger spot is my favorite--I've had it more than four times already. The chicken burger is super juicy, and the pineapple inside adds a refreshing twist that balances the richness perfectly. The signature sauce is absolutely delicious, and the fries that come with it are great, too. I got it to-go, but the dine-in atmosphere seems really comfortable as well. I also ordered some wings, and the soy garlic flavor was incredibly good--so tasty that I'd definitely recommend this place to others. The only downside is that parking can be a bit tricky since it's right in the middle of downtown.

We came as a group of 9 and thankfully, they allow for reservations if you are a group of 8 or bigger. Take note! Especially in this LA peak heat. We checked in with the valet and they gave us menus as we waited about 15/20 minutes for the table to be ready. You will need to order before you are seated and you cannot order anymore food once you are seated, given how popular they are, this makes plenty sense. We were seated inside with cooling AC and the restaurant is quite large inside! It could certainly have several parties in there. Soon, our galbi kalguksu, XL chicken kalguksu, tteokbeokki and XL pork jowl and pork belly bossam showed up. Everything was extra delicious and fresh. The soups in both the galbi and chicken kalguksus were amazing and the hand pulled noodles were divine. We drank and ate everything up quickly. The tteokbeokki was delicious, but too spicy so the rest of the party was able to enjoy it. The bossam was all so tender and had just enough napa and garlic to go with it along with the many unique sauces we could dip all the meats in. Everyone left feeling happy and it satisfied everyone's palates.

It was one of my favorite spots for kalguksu, so I was excited to come back. We visited on a Saturday around 2:00 PM. The first thing that stood out was the wait. There was a line outside despite there being numerous vacant tables inside the restaurant. I'm not sure why customers were expected to wait outside, especially during the current LA heat wave, when seating appeared to be available. While waiting, we were given menus. The first thing I noticed was the price increase. The clam kalguksu is now $22.99, which felt quite expensive, even accounting for inflation. Once seated, we were served the rice with doenjang paste and the three varieties of kimchi. Unfortunately, I found almost all of the kimchi to be noticeably saltier than I remembered, with the exception of the radish kimchi, which was enjoyable. I honestly don't remember the kimchi tasting this salty in the past. It even made us wonder whether it was intended to discourage customers from requesting refills, though I hope that wasn't the case. We ordered the new beef rib kalguksu and the clam (bajirak) kalguksu. The beef rib broth was overwhelmingly salty for our taste, to the point that I mentioned it to our server. The hand-cut noodles themselves were still excellent, but I also noticed that the clam kalguksu contained significantly fewer clams than I remember from previous visits--roughly half the portion I used to receive years ago. The noodles remain well made, but it's difficult to justify the current price when the portions seem smaller and the broths are considerably saltier than before. What originally made this restaurant special to me was its fresh, clean-tasting broth, flavorful kimchi, and generous amount of clams. Unfortunately, my recent visit didn't live up to those memories. With so many excellent kalguksu restaurants in the area, I don't see myself returning. I understand that restaurants evolve and may adjust recipes to appeal to a broader customer base, especially since most of the diners during my visit appeared to be non-Korean. However, I genuinely miss the balanced flavors, generous portions, and value that made this restaurant stand out years ago.

We got to try a couple of things. The first thing we ate was their corn cheese roll. The waiter said this is new to the menu and I hope it stays. If you are a fan of Korean cheese corn, you are going to love this. It's corn and cheese wrapped up in an egg roll like wrapper. It was a great starter. Next, we got the endive salad! This salad was beautiful and fresh! Everything you want in a salad and more. I love the sweet corn in this salad too. Every ingredient balance each other so well. We also got the scallop pancake. This was the dish I always wanted to try here but after eating it, it felt a bit heavy compare to the other dishes. It was okay but the other dishes shined more. Lastly, we got the pork jowl, my favorite of the night. It came with a side of garlic rice! You dip the pork with the chili crisp and eat it with a scoop of rice, delicious!! Should've asked for extra samjang Steak: most of my groups favorite. Cooked incredibly well and the perilla leaf chimchurri was very unique. Might have to incorporate that myself when making chimichurri. They had Korean inspired drinks which were yummy. The injeolmi flavor in mine came through really strongly (good thing). If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
