Get the chicken chargha. It's a must for me every time I come here. Spicy and tasty! I order plain naan to eat it with. Chicken biryani was underwhelming, not much spice or flavor. I'd skip this one. Beef seekh kabob was tasty! I also like to eat this with naan and dip it in the chutney. Gotta have Orange Fanta to wash the food down with. It reminds me of the motherland. For dessert get some kulfi which is like a creamy ice cream. Very rich. Pistachio is my fave flavor. Tasty and authentic Pakistani food. Delicious. I always order ahead before pick up and have to wait some more while I get there. I feel like they don't start working on the order until I get there and tell them I'm there for said order. I've never dined in but there are plenty of tables to sit at.

Ambiance: it's a small family style restaurant, limited seats inside, good for takeout orders Service: terrible experience, if you don't speak their language, expect very different treatment, our table wasn't served any water until asked three times, but their own people got served water immediately at the moment when they got seated, let alone super slow and forgetful, first dish wasn't served until 40 minutes after placing the order, and the bill came before all dishes were served, apparently they forgot to two items from the order but still charged Food & Drink: numerous items to choose for chicken, beef, lamb and seafood dishes Chargha Chicken - **** Half or Whole chicken marinated with their special ingrediant and BBQ special desi style in tandoori oven, spicy and tasty, recommend Chicken Biryani - *** weekend special DUM biryani is with bone, spicy rice Naan - **** Flat leavened bread freshly baked in oven, recommend Mango Lassi - ** Mango based sweet yogurt drink, not fresh Price: large portions, affordable prices and decent quality, expect $20 per person for a fulfilling meal

Honestly lots things about this place can be improved. When we came in and sat down, they gave us the menu, gave us time. Upon ordering food and ordering water. They took so long for the food and didn't even bring us water and we had request again. The restaurant wasn't super busy. We order chicken tikka masala, it was over priced for the portion of food. I have ate in other places too. The dish was extra sour, and chicken wasn't cooked enough, the chicken had no flavor from the curry itself. We ordered a beef biryani to go, def will never come again. It was 20 dollars for small amount of food, and didn't taste good at all. Also don't even get me started on the mango lassi we ordered. It never came and we told the guy to cancel it as we paid. Waste of money and time. Save yourself and go to any of south Asian restaurants. People who like this place clearly haven't tried actual authentic Indian food. This is coming from a desi

I've been coming to chargha house for over 6 months regularly. The food is amazing! Definitely recommend the Chargha (grilled chicken) Dhaal (lentils) also superb. Ali is a great owner and I would recommend eating here + it's a family friendly place!

Although this was takeout, now I truly want to return and dine here since it's 100% traditional Indian food. Service was very quick and food was fantastic! Bon appétit!

Order of rice. Huge amount for $4.99

I went today for lunch with my wife. They did not have any outdoor seating, so we decided to take the food to go. We ordered the following: - Meat Samosa -- 2 stars - A bit mushy - Chicken Tikka Masala - 3 stars - Chicken Karahi - 4 stars - Rice - 4 stars - They give you a very large amount for $4.99 - Onion Naan - 4 stars - Lots of onions (which I love). My wife thought it a bit dry. I dipped it in the lovely Karahi sauce. The bill for all this was $46, including tax. The two of us ate less than half of the food. We'll have some good leftovers. A few people have mentioned that the food was oily. I have to agree that the Chicken Karahi was oily. I used a spoon to take some out, and then had no problem enjoying the dish. It was very flavorful and a little spicy. I would definitely go back.

Hala deliciousness!!!!

Came…read morehere with one of my dearest friend who came down from NorCal to visit during one of the most challenging times of my life. The combination of friendship and delicious dishes delivered by Almost famous was soul-warming. Metered street parking only unfortunately, but service at the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly, courteous, patient, and were happy to go through the menu and make recommendations. You can tell they take pride in their dishes offered. They will check-in enough to ensure everything with the dining experience is going well, but not too frequently to impede on privacy. They have a breakfast/lunch (brunch) menu that they serve from 8am up until 2pm and a dinner menu that is available from 11am to 2pm & 5pm to 9:30pm. 1. Ginger & Cardamom Chai Latte (5/5) House-made chai with ginger and cardamom. If you like herbal spices, this drink was comforting and warming. It's not sweet, which I like and it paired well with the food dishes. 2. Crab Bhuna (4.75/5) Crab meat simmered in fragrant spices then topped with ginger, fennel seed, and curry leaves. It is served with soft, subtly sweet banana buns The crab meat was fresh and honestly, you couldn't even tell it's crab. It's seasoned perfectly with the aromatic Indian spices. The banana buns were interesting ... it was a bit on the dry side, but if you stuffed the airy pockets of the bun with the crab meat, it's not too bad. The banana bun had an interesting flavor profile; a mix of sweet-bitterness to it. 3. Sweet Potato Chaat (5/5) One of my favorite dishes here. It is sweet potato chunks mixed with a sauce blend of sweet corn, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney and pomegranate. The sauce was light, refreshing, and tangy, balancing the natural sweetness of the sweet potato perfectly. 4. Brunch Dosa Rice & Lentil Crepe (4.75/5) Basically think of a crepe, but a super large size one. I just love their crepe - it was crispy yet doughy with a cheesy flavor. The crepe was stuffed with turmeric mashed potatoes. I typically do not like mash potatoes, but when it's served this way, I approve. The dish comes with a side of 3 sauces - sambar (lentil-based vegetable curry that's often seasoned with coriander seeds, cumin, fenugreek, dry red chilies), curry, coconut and tomato chutney. A perfect dish for sharing and for trying out the various flavors of Indian cuisine. 5. Wagyu Beef Keema Kulcha (4.5/5) Minced Wagyu beef that's seasoned well with aromatic spices and onion inside an Indian leavened flat bread. Highly recommend and will be back to try out other dishes!

We went there on a sunday, which was fortunate for us and easy day to find free parking on the street. The interior is beautifully designed, sleek and cozy We ordered one of the popular spinach and mozzarella flatbreads, there are popular paneer and we shared the special dosa platter. Everything was beautifully plated and very generous portions We want to go back for dinner try more of their savory dishes and definitely come back for brunch because they do have both American and Indian options to choose from.. and the French toast looked amazing! At Almost Famous to your foodie must try list!

Not bad. The butter chicken was tasty. A little too spicy and also there were still some bits/chunks of chili that made it particularly spicy for some bites and I had to take a break lol. The roti was not bad. The reason I'm giving 3-stars is because the value is terrible for fine food. Can get really delicious Indian food like this elsewhere for way better. I think the butter chicken was like $27 and didn't even come with rice : ( The portion was pretty large though. Maybe you should just share one between two people and add rice. I usually just review on taste, but the price point just felt a little egregious. The ambiance is pretty and it's a nice lil area, so if you want a vibey elevated spot for Indian it's fine, but the food is definitely just standard and fine, not really worth it for me personally.

Want great food at affordable prices? This is the place. Want to start cooking indian food yourself but don't know what to buy? They'll help you navigate the store, and they have literally everything you could possibly need at great prices. It's not a traditional restaurant, and it's not trying to be: it's good food from friendly people at affordable prices. You'll never find another place like it, it's my favorite place in Los Angeles. A bit more detail on the food: it's cafeteria style, you choose 2 or 3 entrees from a collection of maybe 8 or 10 options, along with a side of rice/pickle. The price is usually around $13 or $15 per person if my memory serves. The options all sample very different flavor profiles (some more savory/smoky, others sweet/acidic), all truly authentic and perfectly seasoned. Seating is mainly outdoor/sheltered and a bit worn down, but that ambiance is part of the charm in my opinion: good food does not need to be pretentious to be enjoyed. Come once for an experience you won't forget, and come twice because there's nothing else like it in town.

India Sweets & Spices is a small Indian bodega that serves fresh Indian food + drinks as well as sells essentials for Indian cuisine and other products from India like spices, teas, henna, oils, and more! We've never had any issues with staff here and its a great place to stock up on grocery goods if you cook Indian food frequently like we do. I most recently got a curry plate which was v tasty, fresh, and quickly made and ate with my friend in their outdoor only seated (covered w/ shade!). The seating area was not wiped down however and its been like this several times but otherwise, I've enjoyed my time w India Sweets & Spices.

Delicious and authentic Indian food…read more My friend and I were seated quickly and our order was taken. Food was brought as it was ready. They forgot to bring the paneer dish we ordered but once we asked about it, they made sure to get it to us quickly and with a new basket of warm naan. The mango lassi was amazing. I absolutely loved the paneer butter masala and garlic naan. I will be coming back for those. The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the veggie samosas had a nice crunch. Lots of families come here to eat. This is the type of restaurant I would feel comfortable dining at alone as the waiters are very attentive and kind.

This is a completely vegetarian restaurant…read more I came here to get their spinach masala dosa because I love my spinach masala dosa from my favorite South Indian restaurant near home and I REALLY wanted to try someone else's version. We soon found out that their dosas are not gluten free. This was a really big bummer. But...good to know for anyone who is gluten free. They do put wheat flour into their dosas. We changed our order to two vegetables dishes. We ordered Bhindi (okra) fry and Saag Aloo (creamy puréed spinach with potatoes. My husband ordered a chili garlic naan. Both dishes came with a hearty amount of basmati rice. While we waited for our food, I noticed the restaurant was full of Indian people and a sprinkling of other people (including me) which I think is always a good sign when I'm ordering Indian food. True to my observation...Annapurna did not disappoint. The saag aloo was perfectly spiced and flavored and I really enjoyed the meal. The Bhindi was also very good. My only complaint is that the leftovers for the Bhindi were rather sparse! So overall i think they did a good job. I was disappointed about the glutinous dosas -- i called to double check and my favorite dosa place back home does not have gluten in its dosas. So key is always ask and don't assume there's no gluten. Even though i couldn't have the dosa, i still really enjoyed my meal. I didn't dock any points for the lack of gluten free dosa batter because my food was still very good and I felt like i wasn't missing anything. The service was very good. I want to give a shout out to Rush who was our waiter and was very helpful throughout the night. Parking lot was full. We found side street parking fairly easy.
