From my phone call to my full inspection report, this company gets an A+ rating from me. Super impressed with their professionalism. If you are needing a home inspection, I would highly recommend ABET. read more

Abet goes above and beyond when it comes to services for us. We used him for inspections. He came out twice to take a look at something he didn't have to do. We also use his pest control services and he will do things that aren't just your average pest control services. read more

Austin did an a fantastic job at inspecting a house for me today. His attention to detail and knowledge was very helpful in understanding what issues were facing this house. His ability to do termite and foundation elevations was something that made him stand out. I'd highly recommend ABET to anyone in the market for home inspections. read more

Amanda, Austin and Keith were awesome! We had an issue with Termites and they came out to do an inspection and made a plan within an hour! Thanks to Amanda for being a great dispatch and getting the message to them in a timely manner! Amanda was very knowledgeable and explained the next steps and it was easily understood. Austin didn't try to oversell his product, he was very honest in pricing and the severity of our problem. Other companies, I feel try to work on emotion and definitely will try to get you to pay for unnecessary services. Austin and Keith saved us thousands of dollars! We even switched to their pest control services indefinitely due to their professionalism. Thanks team!! read more

Austin, Keith and Amanda are true professionals. I've used ABET for years and highly recommend them for both pest control and home inspection services! read more

Eric and the team at ABET, are all professionals with years of experience! This kind of intuition in home inspecting shouldn't be taken lightly as this will be the greatest purchase one can make in their lifetime, go with a company you can trust. Highest attention to detail without question in their reports, coupled with amazing customer service and providing advance information during a inspection. Can't recommend ABET enough, I'll be scheduling another inspection come 11 months from now definitely will be a repeat customer! read more

ABET had the absolute best service! Requesting the inspection was seamless! The inspector (Jim) was the epitome of professional! They made this experience so easy for a first time home buyer!! read more

For the price, I was not impressed with the service. I guess I was spoiled by my previous inspector in Central Texas that took the time to document obvious cosmetic issues, ie, cracked tiles, cracked siding, unfinished flooring, damaged ceiling fan. All things that are present on our new build, but not documented or even mentioned. Would not recommend, find a company that takes more care in protecting their clients investment instead of just going through the motions. I'll have to go back through and finish the job myself. read more

Have been a faithful customer of ABET since 2014. Professional service every time!

Got in contact with ABET Home Services and spoke with Austin, he had great knowledge and experience and was provided with a relatively quick and painless inspection. He was very transparent in providing me with pricing options and even recommended me to his competitors if the scope of the project was too much in the time that I needed it completed. Listen, anyone who is that transparent to recommend to clients their competitors has my business! read more

We used ABET inspection when purchasing our house 2 months ago. The inspection report came back with a super clean slate, only that the AC would need servicing and that there were a few cosmetic things to fix with the electrical. Since then we've had to have extensive plumbing work done for a problem that wasn't mentioned on the report and showed up THE NIGHT we moved in. There is also a very loud water hammer that never was mentioned in the report, and the oven is not nearly as accurate as the report mentioned it was. Overall, this company will check a box for you on purchasing a home but will do a bare-bones job of it. read more

I have used Abet Inspections for the last 4 or 5 years. I love their reports and the way they do their inspections. I love the fact that they I can do all in one place. They are detailed yet they do not scare the buyer. I will keep using and recommending them to all my buyers. read more

I found ABET through searching online. Their reviews were outstanding so I gave them a call. We are closing quickly on the home and we needed an inspection done on the weekend. My realtor and family wanted to be at the inspection and the inspector worked with all of our schedules and was able to meet us on Saturday. The house was recently remodeled and the inspector found several issues and relayed the message clearly to all of us in attendance - my realtor was impressed (Shes been in business since the early 80s and has seen tons of inspectors over the years). Our inspector sent a full report with pictures on Sunday morning since we were in a hurry, and it helped us meet with our realtor for a game plan on negotiations to begin on Monday. Overall I was very impressed with our inspectors professionalism and ability to convey issues and their timing. 10/10 would recommend. read more

ABET Inspections have done a tremendous job for us with their service and inspections. They are always available to do an inspection, on time, and they provide their reports on the following business day. THEY DO A GREAT JOB!!! I recommend them for any person who needs an inspection in the Greater Houston area, without a doubt. With the experience I have in homeowner's renovation, it's really nice to have a reliable inspection company at my doorstep. It's a bet, with ABET. read more

Updated to add: Within 24 hours of writing previous Yelp review, received a snarky email from company. This was our personal experience. We moved to the Houston area from out of state with two small children. We were not able to be present at the inspection - our realtor represented us (very badly.) We believe if we would have been present at inspection, we wouldn't be in the home that we ended up purchasing. We have owned a home before and have been present at inspections, we are aware of how inspections work. As I'm typing this, our ceiling is dripping. We had a roof company out today and were told we definitely need a new roof very soon, the leaks are a year old. After reading our inspection report again, the inspector only viewed roof from ground level, which isn't ideal for a 2-story home. If we were present we would have made a point to have the roof checked thoroughly, as a decent inspector would. Ultimately we know we are liable for fixing items...a new roof on a home purchased 2 months ago. We would not use ABET Inspections again or recommend/refer to others. Bare minimum inspector. read more

Me Messina did a home inspection for me and damaged a bedroom window frame. He would not take responsibility for his damage and I have to hire someone to fix the window. Unprofessional and will not use again read more

Jim Messina from ABET Inspections came out yesterday and performed an inspection on our new construction home. Jim was incredibly professional and thorough. He took the time to walk me through everything he was looking for and what all he found. He did a thermal inspection and found several problem areas that the builder is addressing ASAP. I would definitely recommend that you pay for this in addition to the regular inspection. He found an area that was wet due to a water leak and several areas that were poorly insulated. Jim finished the inspection at 5:30pm and emailed a full, detailed report by 10am the following day so that I could have it for my walk through with the builder. I would highly recommend ABET for any and all home inspections! read more

ABET did my home inspection a couple months ago and they were tremendous! Very friendly and got everything done in a timely manner. They took the time to explain everything to us and got the report out very quickly. I highly recommend them. read more

Being a first time home buyer was an intimidating and nerve racking event. This company made me feel much better about my purchase. Jim the inspector was punctual, professional and friendly. He was able to but me at ease. His knowledge and expertise was impressive. Their availability and competitive pricing made them a no brainer. I am very satisfied. Highly recommend. Thanks read more

I realized i forgot to mention the pest control i got after the inspection. Again the scheduling was really fast, the girl was really sweet and tried her best to find a time that fit my schedule. The technician Dimas was really helpful and explained the process. They spray the outside and inside of your house. They told me that if after 2 weeks you don't feel any improvement they'll come back out for free. The best part is you don't even have to leave your house, the chemicals they use are safe for babies and pets. Something i would definitely reccomend read more

The Abet Team is absolutely the best! I have worked in the Real Estate industry for years but when it came time for me to move, they are the only company I would use to inspect my personal home. Jim and his whole team are professional and precise but they also explain the report and do not blow anything out of proportion. Would recommend them time and time again! read more

Had Abet do the inspection of our new home. The inspection report came out with few major issues but at least one minor issue in most areas. One of those issues was that there were rats in the attic. So, of course, we had the seller remedy that. Just the other day, we found out that company the seller hired to do the treatment for the rats was Abet AND Abet found no rats and no need for treatment. This doesn't feel right to me. Aside from this, we have had several problems with the house over the past 9 months that we assumed would have been uncovered by the inspector but were not. We do understand that the inspection only looks at the state of the house at that time. One of the biggest problems we have had is a leak in the roof at the base of the chimney that seeps water into one of the bedrooms. It is clear after seeing this happen ourselves and what it looked like (water pools between the drywall and the paint, dries out, and leaves very slight wrinkles in the wall) that this had happened before as there were similar marks on the wall. Seller should have disclosed, but did not. We relied on the inspector to notice signs of water damage because they see that stuff all the time and are the experts. To be fair, we made some mistakes. We allowed the inspector to start the inspection before we arrived and we did not make the seller leave during the inspection. (Seller followed the inspector the entire time.) It would have gone much better if we had been able to talk more candidly with the inspector. We also should have asked the inspector to get on a ladder to get a better look at the roof, gutters, eaves. Hindsight is 2020, right? Inspector was on time and available afterwards for questions. Inspection report was also timely and easy to read. read more

Someone from this business when doing an inspection on 4/28/14 urinated all over the seat, the seat cover, the floor, the toilet paper, and the toilet bowl cleaning brush in my master bath of my house. I spoke to the owner of the business and he swore that his guys would not do something of this nature. He even went to the extreme and said someone else came in my house and did this. This couldn't have happened because I have cameras on the outside of my house. The only people in and out of my house that day were my wife, myself, and the 3 men who did the inspection (1 was the buyers agent the other 2 were from this company). My wife and I feel violated. This was unsanitary & unprofessional. read more

These guys by far have been the most knowledgeable, professional, and thorough home inspection company I have used. I had a very narrow timeframe to do my inspection and they were more than happy to accommodate my schedule. I cannot say enough how much they helped me out. I would recommend them in the future. read more

I had this company do a new home inspection for me on the recommendation of my realtor. I don't know what qualifications you need in order to call yourself an "inspector", but I got a clean bill of health on the home from ABET. There was a misdiagnosed humidity problem, by ABET that made living in my home an expensive hell. 80% humidity most times for about 2 years it was like sleeping outdoors. I kept calling the installer but no relief. Finally, I called a A/C company for a whole home dehumidifier... he told me I had a licensing issue. The ducts on this new home were improperly installed so I was basically living in the attic for two years. My electrical costs on about 1800 sq ft was $350, trying to keep this house bearable. Once the ducts were sealed off, no problem. Now I must figure out why all my appliances have shorted out with an independent inspection of the electrical, by a licensed electrician since this terrible company clean billed this house. Please do not use this company. read more
