The breakfast included eggs to order, homemade biscuits, country ham and outrageously great sawmill gravy. Everything was delicious and the family is warm and friendly even to us as strangers. Passing salesperson from Memphis and saw their eclectic sign decided to stop. Just missed their famous breakfast by 10 mins but that was A-okay as their lunch is almost amazing. Instantly greeted like family by the son and father combo along with their lovey lady of the house. Very small and quaint interior with lots of family photos, signed pics from film stars, license plates and international money all around. Bar set-up and watch the cooks do their magic. It was hard to decided between their award winning burger or the finger licking good bbq dishes. I went with the bacon cheeseburger and fry. You could tell all the ingredients were fresh and the blend of burger, seasoning and sauce homemade. I left with a homemade out of the oven chocolate chip cookie with a to-go sweet tea for under $10 wow!! Definitely a must stop :) read more

Abe opened this restaurant a few years after I left college in the 70's and he's still here. Abe assured us he offered the best patty melt in Mississippi and I will have to agree. It's the best I've had in a long time. Toasted in plenty of artery-clogging butter, with mucho cheese surrounding the patty and bacon. (Photo below) Inside Abe's has the crowded counter (see photo) where you can watch Abe and his wife work their magic. Outside there are other tables, but I suggest that if the parking lot looks full, the inside is probably full, too. On the other hand Abe opens at something like 5AM so you can go early. Abe also makes fresh cookies (photo below) that are so inexpensive you'll be tempted to binge. The only strange part of my visit was I was charged one dollar (!) for a glass of water, but I thought maybe it was a local custom and the bill wasn't high enough to question. I've been coming here for breakfast all of my life. We've quickly become good friends with Abe, his wife, and Ryan. They can cook eggs better than anyone else in the area. I highly recommend. The service and atmosphere is possibly the coolest part about Abe's. You get to sit behind the bar, talk to Ryan and Abe as they cook, and watch the whole process. Stopped here for breakfast. Highly rated and good little diner. Only about 17 bar stools so you MAY have to get your breakfast to go. We were lucky and got to bar stools together. Seems to be a popular place for the locals so you KNOW it must be good! Abe and his wife do it ALL! My husband enjoyed their normal breakfast with fresh biscuits and sawmill gravy. I had their coffee, my husband got a sweet tea which comes in a frosted mason jar. GREAT southern eats here. I have lived in Corinth my whole life. Abe's is the reason I try burgers in different places. Some try gimmicks, some try to be like fast food places. Majority fail to live up to a burger from Abe's. OMG... I've been driving past this place since it opened in 1974, and never knew it was there. Had lunch there today and let me tell ya.. what a treat. First of all Mr Abe is just awesome and his son Ryan is a fine young man. I had Abe's 1/4 Pound Cheeseburger with the works and their home cut Idaho fries with their famous frosted Mason Jar of Sweet Tea.. finIshed it off with their famous Chocolate Chip Cookie that is about 6" Dia and 1/2" thick. If you have never been here and find yourself in the area.. do yourself a favor and check out this Old Fashioned Hamburger Joint. Talk about a great place to eat, WOW! Honestly speechless. The place was packed but damn sure worth the wait. The wait wasn't bad at all. Organized chaos is what I call it. Abe and his son were fast, friendly, and make you feel like one of the family. I ate a Big Abe's burger with fries and some sweet tea. So so so good. Burger and fries were fresh and hot. Don't be afraid to stop into this very eclectic place. It has the whole facade covered in antique signs and memorabilia. It is not a very large restaurant, and it is a popular spot so be prepared to get to know both the amazing people behind the counter and next to you. The inside has the same type of decor as outside and a huge diner style table with stools for patrons to sit and enjoy a meal. I love the down home feel. It has a nice simple menu, but the taste is great and you won't be disappointed. Our group was large and we had a small child so we opted to sit outside so she wouldn't fall off a stool. The owner reassured us he has young kids at the counter but we knew better with our kiddo. He did ask several times to bring our dishes back in for them since we weren't dining at the counter. No big deal, we were happy to comply. We all got the two eggs with a side of country ham. I love over easy eggs and with their homemade biscuits with red eye gravy on top completes my breakfast experience. The coolest part was my husband's dad had his Howdy Doody lunch box on display behind the counter. The only thing we didn't like was the cup of grease that you were suppose to pour over something, but again not sure what it was for so we all opted not to use it. Abe's is ALWAYS good - if you can get a seat - which confirms that it's ALWAYS good! Abe will most likely greet you by asking, "What kinda meat you want." He wants to make sure he's got it ready. Even if you don't know what else you might want - let him know... pick about anything - bacon, sausage, bologna, tenderloin, brains (yes, brains), hamburger. Then have a seat at the counter - again - if there is one. If there is more than one of you and there are seats but separated - no worries. He will politely as someone to slide down so you can sit together. They will oblige and you're on your way to a great meal. Abe has fantastic biscuits, so I never get past ordering breakfast. But I've seen his burgers and they look great. Word on the street is his BBQ sandwich is good too. Don't miss Abe's! read more

Haven't been here in years, but a must stop if you are anywhere near Corinth. The real deal, really fresh, fast and darn good food! This is absolutely a one of a kind experience inside and out, and you are doing yourself no favors if you don't make this a stop f you are anywhere within 50 miles of this place, that's right I mean take a detour if you have to, so you can put a notch in your culinary belt that you will remember fondly. There are only a few places on the planet that I would recommend and make a detour for, and this is no doubt one of those places. Like the walls in Hollywood restaurants there's famous autographed photos everywhere, and of course Elvis ate here, hubbaheebahubba thank you very much. The folks behind the counter are fast, fun and get it right everytime, so grab a place at the bar, squeeze in and get ready to enjoy some mighty fine eatins. Stopped here while on the road to Huntsville, Alabama. First of all, as another Yelp reviewer mentioned, the GPS route is not right. We almost flew right by it. It's on route 72. Once we got there, I was surprised how tiny this place is, but it has a ton of character and the people are all super friendly. There is only one counter and it was packed with patrons, but they made room for us when we arrived. We were immediately greeted and quickly received our food. Prices are very reasonable. The BEST part of my breakfast for me was by far the biscuits! They were freakin amazing!!! So soft moist and fluffy! And they give you two! I couldn't finish, so they gave me wax paper to wrap up my biscuits. Normally I wouldn't take biscuits home but these were too good to waste! Great breakfast, but I didn't care for the tenderloin being breaded...prefer it straight. So I'd opt for biscuits or bologna or sausage or some such and blot them with a napkin before you stick them on your biscuit. Very pleasant people and the locals are open and friendly. If you're a person who only keeps to yourself in restaurants, don't come to the South and plop down into a tiny diner like this. Great experience, overall. First time I've seen chocolate gravy on a menu, though of course I'd heard of it for years. And the corndogs (dipdogs), fries, burgers, and the like are home-made. Got to try them next time. I'd have graded it higher, but I was underwhelmed by my fave, tenderloin, and I don't like to spend that much time blotting. Counter service, BTW. Too cool...and great atmosphere.
