Love it here! 10/10 Breakfast food Great service! Waffle was a crispy gold plate of good

I ordered a Big House BLT with fruit cup. Described as 5 scrips of Applewood bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on toasted sourdough bread. I opted for a fruit cup instead of fries. I returned the sandwich the first time because the bacon was borderline burnt. She remade the sandwich, this time the bacon was great. The bread was not toasted. It was "griddled" on one side and very greasy. Mayonnaise was served as 3 foil packets. Fruit salad was pathetic. Server was very apologetic and did her job well. Restaurant was clean.

Everything was fairly good and fast, the only bad parts were the over easy eggs were overcooked and the omelette had grease pouring out of it. (picture is oil from omelette not hash).

I eat here regularly. I eat breakfast exclusively so I can't comment on any of the other menu items. They do a great job on breakfast usually. I find their omelets, hashbrowns and waffles are consistently top notch. This is a chain restaurant, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Service can sometimes vary depending on personnel on duty at the time, but they have some pretty great waitresses and service overall. Locals rely on monthly coupons in the mail to make their prices very competitive.

Reflections are making it hard to read, but I thought the sign was cute

I think Corinth MS is the place most restaurants come to eventually die. This Huddle House, at one time, was a great place to eat. She had quick, friendly service, clean interior, and good food could be found any hour of the day. Of course, that was when she first arrived in town. She was all clean, friendly and your go-to place for a good breakfast. Now, she has let herself go. She stopped caring about her looks and even neglecting her general hygiene. I have popped in for a visit around lunch a few times. I find napkins and food on the floors and several tables piled high with dirty dishes, and no customers sitting. She has gotten lazy, not even mustering a weak acknowledgment of me when I walk in. I have had to go to the counter to place my order more than once, even though a couple of her waitresses saw me enter and sit. She has passed through owners' hands a few times. The current owner doesn't like to spend money on her or show her off, proudly, like her other owners. She is showing her age a bit. Some young blood has moved into town, Cracker Barrel is giving her some competetion. The quality of the food has dropped drastically with the new owner. The owner just keeps buying cheap, low-quality items that have very little taste. 'Slinging hash' use to be a term of endearment for a diner on the highway. A sign of good food, if you will. No one seems to take pride in 'slinging hash' anymore, but appear more content with 'slinging slop' because it seems to work. Like I said, I think the Huddle House is one of the many restaurants that came here to die. She is on her way, losing customers, gaining competetion and a lack of self pride are all signs of her slowly giving up. I just wish she could have had an offspring or two, such as, Denny's, Bluebird Cafe or even a truck stop. To Each Their Own. Update: the health inspection report came out and this place failed ( C in food is a failure, but not so bad as to close the business ) C's * Corinth: Huddle House #469 Update:The quality is improving a little, as of 4-12-15. But, I still only come in when I have coupons.

For context, I lived in the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia area) for 10 years, and I always looked forward to my roadtrips home to NW Mississippi during that time, which often included stops in Corinth, Mississippi, Huntsville, Alabama, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, along the U.S. Route 72 corridor. That's when I first discovered Abe's Grill. Abe's Grill is an institution in this stretch of the South, known for its history, hearty diner food, colorful decor, stool lunch counter, and mom and pop vibes. I've only eaten at Abe's for breakfast, and I was so impressed with the food and customer service that I bought their signature seasoning mix, which I used pretty frequently when I lived in DC. Considering this review is based on a 10-year old photo, I did do some additional research to ensure the restaurant has survived the test of time. The restaurant continues to be extensively covered and recommended by local and regional news media, online food reviewers, bloggers, Visit Mississippi, and the Only In Your State website.

But, the fries were over the top...with Abe's special seasoning on them...amazing! Hope we get in sometime for the breakfast...their biscuits are famously delicious!

#79 For now, this…read morereview is for the Saturday breakfast buffet only. It is pretttttttyyyyy roooouuuugggghhhhh. A couple big-bodied bikers pulled up just ahead of us. They did NOT go back for seconds and didn't finish the one plate they did get. It's definitely a place that will rely on locals for the repeat business. You don't get any real utensils, cups, or plates. You clean up after yourself. All the food appears to be more for the convenience of the people running the place than is for quality and flavor. Frozen biscuits. Yogurt cups. Bitter coffee. Sausage in a maple syrup concoction. Powdered eggs. Hash browns, were just inedible. Grits so gummy you can't get the spoon out of the dish. No tea. You get the idea. We couldn't eat ANY part of their offerings. We went straight across the road to the Waterway Grill to eat breakfast. They do offer buffet for lunch and dinner on weekdays and a Sunday buffet. I have no idea if these foods are "instant" or pre made in quality. They've got a cornbread salad posted on Facebook and I do plan to eat the lunch buffet one day, just to try the cornbread salad. The lunch price is $6.99, 11:00-2:00 then reopen at 5:00-8:00 for the $7.99 buffet. Some foods on the buffet are Rasberry/Pineapple Glazed Pork Chops, Baked Chicken, Jambalaya, Mashed Potatoes, Lima Beans, Blackeyed Peas, Cornbread, Coleslaw, Cornbread Salad, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Fresh Baked Cookies, Ice Cream, and Chocolate Pudding. When I do try the lunch buffet I will update the review to reflect the quality/experience.

It has an extensive menu and some of the items sound like they would taste delicious. The chuck wagon steak, sounds great, but tastes pretty rough. It comes with too much gravy, and it is a patty that contains a bunch of fillers, resulting in a "soggy" patty, with strange flavors. The hand cut fries are red skin potatoes, which are an oddity in this area. They aren't douple dipped or cooked long enough, and as a result, come to you limp and the insides are crunchy. The pot roast has a good taste, reminiscent of Kelly, Hormel or Dinty Moore brand can stew. The meat appearance and gravy taste make you wonder, if it is from an industrial-size pre-made dish. The food items we chose were edible, but not worth the drive to make another visit. The only food item that was questionable would be the baked beans. They were prepared with an overpowering maple ingredient, and tasted like a pancake syrup. There were bits of real bacon and ground meat, but you couldn't discern that taste from the maple. I ate them, but it was off putting, and I added pot roast meat to dilute it some. There is no ban on smoking here, and you will have to deal with that smell while dining. There is a table to play dominoes. They have karaoke certain nights. There is an on-site deli that sells a half dozen different sandwich meats. They also offer a long list of desserts. The one menu item I do plan to try, is the cornbread salad, to compare to that of Borroum's. The food quality may not have been what we prefer, but if they post an interesting special, I may return to try it. I do look forward to trying the cornbread salad within a couple weeks. I'm not sure about the name, if it is a play on words, or an honest misspelling (Jake Brakes on semi trucks). To Each Their Own.
