I appreciate this location for their food and location. It's super close to my home, so when I have a craving any time of day or night, this is the place. The menudo soup is great because this place serves it up at a drive thru. You can't find it anywhere else but at a sit down restaurant, At east from my experience. The food portions are heavy, like the steak super nachos and tacos. I prefer the green chili over the red, but that's my personal preference. The cream cheese chimichangas are delicious, but when COVID hit, it was Changed to meet safety requirements, and tasted just plain. I look forward to trying it again someday when they drizzled it with chocolate and whipped cream again. Ableardos is a must in our house! Disappointed in this location as you are still not able to get your own sauces and such for your food, employees (whom are way over worked and under paid) have to get them for you.. I love mixing all the sauces but I don't want to feel like a sauce hog when I have to keep asking for more when they only give you 1 tiny tiny cup of sauce :(. The queso is amazing, chips are a hit and miss if they are stale tho (I would like to see an option to add meat or something else to it), the burrito shells are HUGE and yummy. There are now Abelardo's locations all over town. The menus are the same in each location as best as I can tell. This is a fast casual Mexican place, the first ones to enter the Omaha market. The menu focuses on dozens of burritos, which are huge and delicious. One will satisfy most appetites. The tacos are also quite good. Tortas and other basic Mexican menu items round out the menu. You can order a la carte or with rice and beans, your choice. This is definitely a "come as you are" place, and you will often find the customer base being largely Latino, along with students, business people and the senior set (me). Order at the counter and they will call your number when your food is ready. While prices have risen substantially since they first came to town, you can still eat a full meal for less than $10. read more

We'd seen a couple reviews for Abelardo's and since Mexican is one of our favorite foods, wanted to check it out. First off - no fancy restaurant here. Definitely blue collar and would look right at home if you were in Central or South America. The restaurant was clean and we were greeted immediately upon entering. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. There are different daily specials throughout the week. Menu consists of items for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tacos, burritos, mixed plates etc. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day. Wife had the cheese enchilada combo plate with rice and beans - She said it was good. I have the chorizo combo plate with rice and beans. Very acceptable, but I have had better chorizo. You have a number of salsas to choose from. There is mild (spicy), medium (More spicy), mixed sauce salsa, and even an avocado sauce that was spicy as well. Also had the raspberry filled churros. Not bad, a bit heavy, but still okay. At first I didn't see the point of leaving a review for local 24x7 Mexican chain as they are typically what they are. However, I've had my share of 3am burritos and Albelardos does a excellent job with anything and everything on their menu. First and foremost, portion control. It doesn't exist here. Order a burrito and they'll hand you something that resembles a football. Order the nachos and you need 5 friends to finish it. And the super fries? I think it had at least 2lbs of beef on it. I'm not joking. They free hand all the ingredients, very generous with portions. Ive stood there, in utter amazement and watched them prep food. It's a site to behold. I've yet to meet anyone who left here hungry. From street carne asada tacos to chicken quesadillas and huevos rancheros, this place is damn great! I've been to a number of Abelardo's in the metro and this one has the best chicken IMO had the chicken nachos slow cooked stewed chicken in spices is the best I have had from any in the chains to date. The food was great, the service quick, and the staff friendly. Salsa bar is just a bonus in my opinion. The downside this location is not exactly big or tall friendly anymore, "poorly spaced booths only". I being 6,6 roughly and around 250+ had some technical difficulty with the new ultra compact seating LOL. I felt like I was sitting down to play tea as opposed to eating, as both my middle and knees were squeezed and contorted into yoga like positions. It was an extremely tight squeeze actually worse than planes if that's imaginable, and I'm not overly obese, I would have welcomed at least one or two tables with chairs. When I visit this location again it will definitely be via the drive through. LOL read more

Early in the week I received a coupon in the mail and tonight decided to give this location a try. The first thing we noticed while pulling into the parking lot was the 1.1 gigawatts of brightness. The extreme illumination also emphasized a completely empty parking lot. The front of the building is mostly glass so it was evident that the few tables inside were completely empty as well. Upon walking in we noticed a man in the kitchen who appeared to be stocking shelves. He saw us and continued working. We stood at the counter and waited for a greeting or some type of acknowledgement. Finally a woman approached from the back but instead of a greeting or acknowledgement she conversed for a bit with the guy stocking shelves and then walked right past us to a cash register and spent what seemed like 45 seconds pushing buttons. Afterwards someone appeared in the drive thru so she tended to them. We stood there and waited some more. I looked at my wife who was visibly annoyed and asked if she wanted to bounce.....I knew she did- we both did! I wasn't going to leave without voicing my concerns with the abysmal service so I asked the lady if I could speak with the manager. She proudly introduced herself as the owner and I politely told her what she already knew...how could she not know right? Without offering up any sort of apology she just stood there and stared at me with a fvck off look on her face. She literally didn't say a word, just stared. Among other things, I told her I would write a Yelp review and here it is. We went to Chili's Bar & Grill and had a very good meal with excellent service to boot! read more

Aberardo's has added yet another location that's within PJ driving proximity to my home. Yet, unlike the 108th Street location, this new place is a bit larger, so can accommodate seating for folks who don't eat alone. It's a chain-ish, so if you visit the other locations, you know what to expect (including the salsa bar). Having tried many things on the menu, my go to is the vegetarian burrito add carne asada. You do have to pay for a slight upgrade on the burrito, but it's a perfect share size. Decor is bright. Ambience is basic. Service is the order at the counter variety. read more

I usually go to the one on 108th but considering they are usually rude, the tv loud and it not "clean as it should be" I decided to try this location. I'm happy I did. this use to be an old Valentios to go building that was well maintained. A lot of room, the air conditioning actually works well and its clean. A young man behind the counter was kind enough. I almost always order the Green chili plate . The pork was cut up in smaller pieces then the one on 108th and it worked better. I don't usually like beans and rice but for some reason I almost always like theirs. It can be hit and miss though, the time for this review they were great. They have a salsa bar with a note on it asking people not to take more then they will use. A lot of people take a bunch home and "use it later" ..I usually use the brighter green one ( don't know whats it called ) and get a wedge of lime and the carrot / jalapeno mix. I love putting lime on my green chili plate, put the pork on the tortilla , add some carrot, oh so good !! this location seems to have more on the menu then the others. I'm a big Mexican food lover. I like that this place is open 24 hours daily! I like the self served salsas if you chose to go inside. If you go through the drive through they only give you one of their red sauces but they have 2 kinds of red sauces inside and I like the other one which is why I don't go through the drive through anymore. I'm not a big fan of their beans...rice is ok. If you order a side of sour cream, they barely give you any. The carnitas are decent. Chips are homemade. Not a big fan of the green chile pork as it tasted freezer burnt. Overall it's ok. Not the best but it's super close by and convenient. read more

We went here Friday night for dinner. The cashier counter girl was very friendly and answered all our questions about new items on the menu... The new Nebraska burrito, Iowa burrito and a new cheesecake chimichanga. So big kudos to her she was wonderful and patient ;) we ordered the beef nachos to share, he ordered the burrito Combo plate and I ordered the chicken taco combo plate. I have eaten at this location before and chose it as I feel it is the cleanest And best kept out of the four restaurants they own. The nachos came out quick and they were just meh compared to other places I've been recently. My husband loved his burrito plate and finished his plate. My chicken tacos were a bit too spicy for me. Someone that likes spicy food would probably love them. Next time I'll remember and order the beef tacos. The beans and rice were good and I took them home for leftovers. My husband always raves about their beans saying they are some of the best in Omaha. They have a bit of a smoky flavor. The sweet counter gal brought me a box and we were on our way. I often get either the regular beef tacos or fish tacos and a California burrito. For the$6 charged for the burrito, you get a huge value. Highly recommended. The main besides super nice owners why I like this place so much is the bean burrito with cheese is literally like $3 and it's almost the size of a chipotle burrito. Crazy great value when your hungry at 12:20AM and cannot stand to eat another thing on the dollar menu.
