There are now Abelardo's locations all over town. The menus are the same in each location as best as I can tell. This is a fast casual Mexican place, the first ones to enter the Omaha market. The menu focuses on dozens of burritos, which are huge and delicious. One will satisfy most appetites. The tacos are also quite good. Tortas and other basic Mexican menu items round out the menu. You can order a la carte or with rice and beans, your choice. This is definitely a "come as you are" place, and you will often find the customer base being largely Latino, along with students, business people and the senior set (me). Order at the counter and they will call your number when your food is ready. While prices have risen substantially since they first came to town, you can still eat a full meal for less than $10.

At first I didn't see the point of leaving a review for local 24x7 Mexican chain as they are typically what they are. However, I've had my share of 3am burritos and Albelardos does a excellent job with anything and everything on their menu. First and foremost, portion control. It doesn't exist here. Order a burrito and they'll hand you something that resembles a football. Order the nachos and you need 5 friends to finish it. And the super fries? I think it had at least 2lbs of beef on it. I'm not joking. They free hand all the ingredients, very generous with portions. Ive stood there, in utter amazement and watched them prep food. It's a site to behold. I've yet to meet anyone who left here hungry. From street carne asada tacos to chicken quesadillas and huevos rancheros, this place is damn great! Add a coke in the glass bottle and don't forget the salsa bar and churros!

Beef Chimi...ground beef??? With plastic fork. Lol

Used to love this place. Moved from Omaha but just moved back and was eager to go...but serious let down:( Chimi was made with nasty bland ground beef. It wasn't fried long enough and was doughy tasting. With cheap plastic forks it was a nightmare to cut. At 8.50 plus 2$ for small soda...I expected better. Huge letdown.

I ordered the chicken crisper salad and a kids sliders with mashed potatoes. The sliders tasted fine but the presentation left much to be desired. One of the patties was broken in half and the cheese on both was barely on the burger. The mashed potatoes were solid enough. The salad was a disappointment from all directions. I recently had this salad at the airport Chili's in Columbus Ohio and it was fantastic! This was nothing like it. The chicken had a weird taste... I don't know how to explain it but if you also are not a fan of the chicken at Cheddars, it's similar. Like a plastic taste or something. And they forgot the dressing. I generally enjoy going to Chili's so I'll try a different location next time.

The staff consistently make you feel welcome, and the atmosphere is comfortable whether you're dining alone or with family. It's been a while since I last visited, but I recently stopped in and ordered my usual, the Triple Dipper. Unfortunately, it didn't taste quite the same as I remember. Even the texture of the chicken crispers was different not bad, just noticeably off from what I've enjoyed in the past. Overall, Chili's is still a nice, reliable spot with great service and a clean environment, but I'm hoping the food gets back to the way it used to be. I probably won't go back no time soon unless I'm going to the bar for a drink only.

The entrees were great, especially the fish taco--love the sriracha mayo sauce and avocado on it! The cilantro rice was oddly bland, even with tomatoes and cotijo cheese crumbles on it. But that's not what we were there for anyways. They have four kinds of coke on the machine (diet, regular, sugar free, cherry) with limited other options for soda. But I'm a cherry coke girlie, so I'm not complaining. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. It's a grab-your-own setup for drinks and silverware, and when one of the employees noticed I hadn't picked up a fork yet, she brought one over without me even asking. It was such a small gesture, but it really stood out. Love when people go the extra mile just to be kind. We'll definitely be back!

I got the Texas sausage it was decent, solid but nothing crazy. The Philly and the Millennial were both good, but they just needed some seasoning. It feels like there's no salt at all in them, and if they added just a little, they'd be fire. The chicken enchilada was easily the best one so far, full of flavor. The sausage and gravy was really good too. I also got the cinnamon twist? Amazing. It brought back childhood vibes for me. Overall, I'd go back for sure.
