Today we decided it was a DO-OVER...it very delicious if you want authentic Mexican food...warning...you will love it and want to keep coming back to try their entire menu...The servers are friendly and very attentive just like last time we were here...(yes they are bilingual ..just like ME...)

My favorite tacos in town! They're simple in the best way: fresh tortillas, steak, cilantro, and onions. Nothing else needed and they nail it. I love their tamales, rice, and beans as well. They have crisp chips and salsa brought to the table when you sit. They also have a great avocado sauce, which goes perfect on anything. Servers are nice, and you pay at the front desk.

Great Mexican spot in Omaha. Came here for lunch on Sunday and the place was busy. We all got the QUESABIRRIA. Very flavorful tacos with birria meat and cheese. We all got plates of three quesabirrias. The service was great and the food was great. The dining room is big. The restaurant has a big parking lot.

The service was amazing at this place! It comes with free chips and salsa - which is always such a nice thing to do. Mix it with the queso and it's fire! We even got free refills on the salsa because it was so good to snack on. We both indulged in the quesabirria tacos and it hit the spot. I would go back 10/10 times for just those!

Browsing on MLK day, my girlfriend and I checked out this establishment. Very clean, plainly decor in South Omaha that I was very impressed. Once seated our server brought our chips and salsa which has a nice bit of heat. I chose the Quesabirria which were incredible while she opted for Huevos A La Mexicana. She was quite surprised that a breakfast menu too was offered. Both entrees as stated were quite enjoyable. I would highly suggest adding them to your dining experience.

Great place to have some great food. When we got to the Taqueria it was empty then just felt like a flip of a switch then the place got packed, which is always a good sign. Food being brought out looked well made and portions were good. I ordered the Beef Soup and my wife had the shrimp enchiladas. The servers brought out 5 different salsas which was awesome all ranging from not to hot all the way to spicy. My soup had oxtails, short rib and cubed chunks chuck roast as you can see in the picture there was more meat than anything else. That said I have to say this was best tasting beef soup I've had at a restaurant. Definitely going to put this gem on our Omaha best eats map. My wife's enchiladas were also in point. Tables next to use had birra tacos and with thier first bite they had thier facial expression would say it all. Great food and Good service and classic Mexican decor you expect to see at a Mexican restaurant.

Authentic Mexican food served promptly and very friendly staff. The chili relleno was large and our entrees had very generous portions. Quesa Birria tacos are always an excellent choice! Everything was flavorful, even the refried beans and rice. Nice selection of salsas available for all palates. This will be definitely be one of my favorite restaurants in South Omaha!

Alteño has been our go to Mexican spot. The tacos have so much flavor and the tortillas they use taste like true authentic homemade corn tortillas. The green salsa is my favorite but be cautious for the red it's super spicy! Fajitas are typically topped with cheese but we opted out. The portion was HUGE so I took the rest for lunch the next day. I highly encourage you to support this small business. Owners are typically working in the back or the counter and all of their staff has been great to us when we visit!

This place is great for authentic mexican food. Very good prices and flavours are exploding out of the tacos. My whole table got various tacos so I cant speak on any other dish but probably some of the best authentic tacos ive had in Omaha. The sauces they provide on the side are also awesome. Give this place a try.

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

The servers were very friendly and was able to help out when we had questions. The place itself was very well decorated and didn't seem cluttered.
