Beer cheese chicken and waffles on the right and spicy jalapeño chicken and waffles on the left--both are delicious!
    Carrie B.

We stopped by on Sunday morning to give this place a try. The ladies in the truck were so fun and super friendly. They gave us some great suggestions to try as we hadn't been here before. I tried the spicy jalapeño chicken and waffles, and my husband tried the beer cheese chicken and waffles. Both were delicious! The chicken was still really moist and the waffle was light and airy--and just FYI...it is a savory waffle. The food is cooked fresh and there was plenty of seating! We will come back and try the sweet waffle next time!

Abe's has been a staple in my brunch routine since the new management. Although they've relocated a bit further from me it's always nice to go and get my sweet and savory combination. the cookie butter bliss is a plain waffle drizzled with cookie butter, pecans, whip cream and a biscoff cookie. I also get a friend chicken breast on the side with a side of smoky aioli. There are several waffles on the sweet and savory menu and you also have the option to build your own. There's something for everyone.

If you're looking for a low-key breakfast joint, and top of the line waffles... you have to try Abe's! Good atmosphere out on the patio, and amazing food.

Was really worried when this truck left that area next to Northwest Beerwerks. Have been a fan of this truck since they were originally called Honeycuspe. Finally found out the truck can be found in that new complex near Heritage Distilling. Looks like they expanded their menu because I don't remember them having that many items. Sis got the Balsamic Vinegar on bacon with goat cheese and it was pretty good. I got the basic breakfast with bacon and sriracha aioli and it seemed more vinegary and less sweet than I last remembered it. They said we could sit in the dining patio of the brewery they were parked next to, which is best since the waffles won't be so great when they're cold and soggy trying to get them home. The servers were really nice and low key. Fun experience, but I feel the flavor has slipped since we last saw them. The waffles used to be craveable, not now it's just something I might try if I'm in the area and want something sweet because the savory waffles are just okay.

Great little food cart situated next to a ton of breweries. They have a good amount of seating available. The waffles are light and crispy, and the fried chicken is really tasty (also HUGE portions of chicken). Their house made beer cheese is awesome! Their house made BBQ is okay. It's really thick and you can really taste the caramelized onion in it! We were excited to try the potato cakes (got one cheesy and one regular) and they are WEIRD. I expected some kind of crisp shredded potato thing, but they're essentially mashed potatoes that have been tossed on a griddle. They're not bad, but not at all what I was expecting.

Walking into the establishment it was well lit and the decor was simple but efficient. I was seated promptly and the menu and a glass of water so their after. It was a two sided menu, with a good variety for breakfast and lunch items too. I ordered breakfast. The service was consistent as my server did check on me and asked if I had any questions about the menu. I asked one and they were very polite explaining it. After my order showed up, I proceeded to eat it all. The combination of the eggs, tomatoes, bacon and cheese was equally satisfying and balanced. It was topped with Avocado slices ( slightly brown, but still good). The sourdough toast appeared to be from a freshly made loaf ( served with soft butter and raspberry jam) and the hash browns were cooked lightly. Overall this place will do well in this part of town. Yes, I would return again. Good service, good selection and great prices too!!

By the time we got our drinks, the place had filled up. There is very little sound dampening here, so the sounds of every conversation echoed through the dining area and made it very hard for those at my table to hear each other. Our table was also disturbingly wobbly, which made the meal feel precarious. The food was excellent. The mocha was large and delicious, and my chorizo breakfast pizza offered a fun new taste for me. The biscuit meals were better than what we expected - in fact, we wouldn't even call them "biscuits." The food also kept well when frozen, so Art House may be better experienced as Takeout.

Dirty Oscar's Annex - Disappointing Experience on 6th Ave…read more We came in as a group of seven, and unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. First, the service was poor and disorganized. One of my friends arrived early and ordered her drink, but it didn't arrive until after I had already received mine -- even after she asked twice. We also had to wait far too long for basic things like napkins and forks because we weren't given enough for everyone. The most frustrating part, however, was the automatic gratuity. At no point were we informed -- verbally or on the menu -- that parties of 6 or more are charged an automatic 20% gratuity. We only discovered it by carefully reviewing our checks. And to make matters worse, the so-called "20%" was not actually 20%. It came out to 24.1%. When we questioned it, the person who said she was the manager claimed "the computer does it automatically." We are a table full of teachers -- and the math was definitely not mathing. We understand and respect gratuity for large parties, especially when the service is great or when it's clearly communicated. But charging more than the stated percentage crosses from poor service into a billing integrity issue. To add to the frustration, there is also a credit card processing fee, which again was not clearly disclosed on the menu and only appeared at the bottom of the receipt. This absolutely should be visibly posted before ordering. They did offer to refund some of the charges, but we declined because it would have taken additional time and we had an event to get to -- and more importantly, it doesn't resolve the core issue of lack of transparency. She also gave each of us a $10 gift card, but again, that doesn't resolve the issue. And honestly, what good is a gift card if we don't plan on returning because of such an awful experience? Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, and not one we would recommend based on service and transparency alone.

Everything is black, super dark windows on one wall, very plain amenities. Not really my vibe, but the menu was interesting to me. I am gluten free and pescatarian and found MANY fun options, plus they were cool with substitutions and other things. They were even serving breakfast still at 2pm, which was awesome! Not sure if this was because we went the day after Christmas or if this is the usual here. I got the fried cheese balls- YUM! Usually these aren't gluten free so I was very happy that they were. It was like a mozzarella stick but way more flavorful and interesting. Not like anything I have had before. I got the shrimp and grits and they let me put the sausage on the side for my husband to enjoy since I don't eat meat. Loved this option, as usually I pay the same amount for a dish with no meat by taking it off. They also let me do my egg scrambled instead of poached. The shrimp was great, grits were perfect, and the sauce was pretty good. I do prefer a bit more flavor in my sauces, but still found the meal to be quite satisfying. The vibes and the service are nothing special in my opinion, but they do nail southern comfort food and options for dietary needs.

Maybe I should've had the red potatoes instead. The Omelette was surprisingly good. The sweetness of the pork with the bbq sauce was fascinating and tasty. If I had it again I'd ask to add a squirt of bbq inside or ask for more sauce on top. Hubby ordered the Shrimp and Grits. They were great and better than most places we've had them out. Hubby crumbled his side of bacon on top. They were Creamy, savory, cheesy and served piping hot. Jenny said sometimes people ask to add andouille sausage or catfish on top. Last - OMG that was a THICK biscuit! It was super dense. The gravy was delicious. But the biscuit takes up most the room on the plate. So my gravy to biscuit ratio was off. I still took half my omelet and half my biscuit in a to go box. Left the hash browns. They have BIG portions. Amazing atmosphere and service.
