Not just for tourist. Came to Hilton Hawaiian Village to exchange some items at a nearby shop and stopped into this ABC to browse and pick up a drink and snack before heading back home in traffic. Thought we would just do a zip in and out thinking this place was just for tourist. After 15 minutes of checking out their goods: clothes, trinkets, snacks, sandwiches, and assorted beverages found myself thinking wow, this place is cool. Yes, this is a tourist location and for sure their market is tourist focused, but prices were actually reasonable and the assortment of items was surprisingly vast. The place was bustling. Hint: Don't expect to get your parking validated here. Not sure which establishments validate? From what I hear some do and some don't. Being it was the day after Christmas the manager overheard me asking about validation to the cashier and said, "Sorry, we don't normally validate, but here's a belated Christmas gift and gave me some parking coupons. What a hook up! Certainly wasn't expecting that, but he made my day. Now looking for a way to pay it forward. Fair is fair. The Waikiki stores have been helpful for stuff like band aids and sunscreen. Although you'd think that every store would have stuff at the same price. This isn't the case some of the stores sell items at a higher place than the other. One store sold bandaids for $1.69 where another store sold the same for $1.19. The store is good for getting coffee though. It's only $1 for a small and you avoid waiting in a long line at the other cafes nearby. read more

The ABC Stores in Waikiki are convenient for your daily needs while on vacation and for any quick souvenirs you may want. That being said, the food is absolutely terrible. I recently had some turkey rolls which I would think are hard to mess up, but ABC managed to do so. There was a weird sweet flavor to them. The tortilla tasted like it was merely the cheapest thing they could find, and even the cheese lacked flavor. Would not recommend. I also tried the sushi on a recent occasion and was similarly turned off. The fish was passable but the rice was so dense that it was basically inedible. But they are convenient and in a pinch, ABC has everything you could need. Just don't expect the best quality or the best prices. read more

Is it possible to be in love with a store? If so, I love the larger ABC stores! And this is one of them that's conveniently located in the Hilton resort. They have a large selection of everything that each tourists love: Hawaiian gifts/ souvenirs; from key chains to kitchen goods. They have it all. Now, not all prices are expensive. You'll have to shop at the right time bc they'll have additional sale or percentage off during promotions. Additional, they have a wide selection of alcohol and food. They have a variety of quick lunches and snacks for those on the go. Why sit 30-40 mins to wait for your pizza when there's a selection of spam musubi and Japanese obento to try out? On top of that, they're cheaper compared to restaurants around the Hilton village area. The reason I gave them only four stars bc of five bc the cashier was not friendly. I also didn't get any help from sale associates on the floor. I don't think they're fully staffed so the cashier was in a hurry to get me out of the door. I'm excited to go to the super ABC store! Omg! We couldn't get buy without this place! It saved us a fortune! The cashiers are super nice and always have a smile. ABC carries everything from food to toiletries, alcohol to souvenirs. It's a one stop shop and there are dozens of them conveniently located everywhere around Honolulu. We bought $30 chairs for the beach because to rent them from the hotel cost $18/per day per chair, that is just example of our savings. The food is fresh and a good variety of healthy snacks and grab and go items. We bought snacks and beers and cocktails daily to take to the beach as they can get prices buying them from the bar each time. I just can't say enough good things about the variety and convenience of these places. I absolutely recommend this place for a variety of needs! I asked a worker if they have umbrellas, which he said they do, he handed me two to choose from and I asked him if either was on sale or final sale, he said NO, that just one was cheaper than the other one. Turned out that we didn't need or use the umbrella and I called customer service to ask if they accept returns, he said yes, as long as the products are in perfect conditions and with tags on them, I was there just the next day and they refused to take it back because it was final sale. read more

My first three star review! Hey they earned it! Cheaper than the hotels near Waikiki Hawaiian Hilton and it's in a little cozy outdoor type mall. But man when you get in there prepare to get to know everyone intimately because there's no space to walk in the aisles. I kept stepping on short people (I'm 6'5") and some of them would look up like I'm Godzilla and just stare. The good news is I could see what's on aisle 4 from the front door because everything is at waist level (or was it me). They also had an overpriced gift store to go with the overpriced supermarket. Don't know if this is the one in the Hilton Hotel but there is this lady who is just very rude. I had no problem using my Visa Gift Card except when she checks me out. She said I needed a pin to use it and to call the back of the card. I told her no and this can be used as a credit card but she told me to call the number on the back of my card. Was I surprise at the super high level of Aloha and helpfulness of the ladies working at this ABC store. The entire store from the outside seems small but once you step foot inside the store you will find that the store interior was huge and they have everything you want to buy. Tee shirt had nice Aloha logos, higher quality of tee shirt that is soft and skin smooth, Trump talking souvenirs, the Japanese food entree was excellent as I was able to eat healthy of tempura shrimp soba noodle salad with a soy ginger sauce. This is for all the ABC stores and theres a lot all around waikiki and other touristy or shopping areas. ABC is like the 7-11 of hawaii. Except they have like everything touristy you can imagine, awful super bright aloha shirts, touristy t-shirts, calendars, magnets, key chains, you name it they got it. But the main things i love is, go there to stock up on large hawaiian water. Usually a dollar on sale for a large liter size. Man, walking around in the slight humid heat and bar hopping does get you thirsty and a few of these in your hotel fridge always hits the spot. I grab my soda, whatever i need, snacks, even some spam/egg musubis to scarf down later just in case you had one too many beers. But theres a reason these stores are packed is because they pretty much have everything you need. If you need to get gifts though, go to costco, or don quijote, but everything else ABC can handle lol. And actually the ABC store t-shirt with blue logo is what i wear when i go out to exercise. Let's face it, they have EVERYTHING. It was refreshing to have an ABC store in our hotel complex in Hawaii. They were open till 12:30 A.M. They have lots of Japanese foods (somen, sushi, inari zushi, onigiri (riceballs). They sell boatloads of souvenirs like towels, flower hair clip ons, sandals, coffee mugs, hawaiian dresses and Hawaiian men's shirts. They have trinkets, posters, stationary, macadamia nuts, kona coffee etc... Prices are reasonable. If you want to save money, go to ABC rather than to the Hotel restaurants and bars. Breakfast as Tropic Bar & Grill ($22) whereas at ABC, you can get a yogurt and banana for about 3 to $5. if you have a family, stock up on snacks and either do breakfast and lunch here. Money can go super fast in Honolulu. Go shop early in the morning or late at night. Good ice cream stop. If you save your receipts of $100 or more, they will give you small gifts. Not sure if I got sick from some pineapple here or not. Could have been the luau the night before at the Polynesian Cultural center. ABC's are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! I know a 4-Star rating for an ABC Store is high, though I am speaking for ALL the ABC Stores on Island. It's a chain similar to the 7-11 and Lawson Station with similar items for sale, HOWEVER... they have much, much more for the tourist and happy local as well. I come to Waikiki Beach often and LOVE to go into the various ABC's there. I always find something to get. This time I found some Hot Sauce Dark Chocolates and a Sammy that was so large, my wife and I shared it. Prices are fair, considering you're on the world famous Waikiki Beach... This location was our go-to stop while staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Without leaving the hotel grounds, you get a clean and well-organized convenience store with a wide variety of snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. The prices can be a little high, but they're still reasonable considering you're at a resort. The grab-and-go food section had some nice options; we enjoyed a quinoa salad, fruit and cheese plate, and the ever-popular Spam musubi. The food wasn't earth-shattering, but it did the job, and it was a hell of a lot cheaper than a hotel meal. This was also a great place to stock up on bottled water. The souvenirs were a little kitschy, of course, but not excessively cheesy. Beach and swim wear is available in case you forgot anything. I'm a big fan, and would love to see more of these stores in other popular hotel/resort areas. read more
