7-Eleven Hawaii was one of my must-visit spots during my trip to Oahu. I even woke up early and walked about a mile from my hotel just to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I felt like a kid in a candy store. The 7-Elevens in Hawaii are just on another level compared to the mainland. There were so many snacks you don't usually see like dim sum items, musubi, Japanese sandwiches, and Li Hing powder, just to name a few. I picked up a few dim sum items like siomai, char siu bao, and a Chinese sausage bun. For convenience store food, they were actually pretty decent. I also tried their mochi donut, but that was a letdown. It tasted stale and just wasn't good. I also grabbed some snacks to bring home, including mochi balls, dried cuttlefish, and Li Hing powder. The dried cuttlefish ended up being my favorite. I wish I had brought back more. This location was clean and the customer service was solid. Overall, I was really happy with my visit. read more

Money orders. I asked yesterday if they sold money orders, and if they could take my debit card and was told yes. Today I went back and she told me "no" you cannot pay with a debit card. you have to bring in all cash. I needed $1000. The lady yesterday told me I would have to buy two $500 at a dollar each. Today's woman told me I had to buy four at $250 and $1 each because they had a 250 limit. WTF I know I can go other places, but I needed it for tonight. The convenience is real... The one thing that you can seriously rely on with 7-Eleven and it's not the Spam Musubi...huh!? Parking though this location is on the edge of Waikiki it still has a great amount of stalls available though they do share it with the neighboring laundromat just knowing that you're able to swing in to park as we all do is great. The staff here is nice and friendly though they're seem to be kept constantly busy at this location which is a bit smaller though the layout does work perfectly. On this visit I came to pick up some breakfast before work and after much debate you know it's the classic Spam Musubi lol! The selection was low and so my son and I bought masubi each. Since we did not have a wide selection to choose from and were hungry from our five hour flight. We decided to go next door where there is a food truck park. I would say we were tops 15 minutes there, order and get food. When we crossed the street back to the 7-eleven our car wasn't there and had been towed. My husband saw the tow truck with our car as he walked towards the entrance. The location of the tow area has not been updated on the sign. An uber had taken us to the location in the sign and when we arrived they said they relocated. We are traveling with three young children. This was how we were welcomed to Hawaii. Do not come to this location they are waiting to tow your car. read more

Besides the mind-blowing variety of musubi (spam, garlic chicken, Portuguese sausage, Mochiko Chicken, miso salmon, oven-roasted salmon, spicy shrimp katsu, etc.), local 7-Elevens have pho, Laulau, saimin, Lechon, ramen, corn chowder, hot and sour soup with mushrooms (a new keto option) and more! I remember this building used to be a Jack in the Box before I moved away 17 years ago. I'm so glad 7-Eleven Hawaii opened an anchor store here with parking. It's truly valuable to be located at the entrance to Waikiki and conveniently situated on the same block as Hawaiian Monarch building. I used to walk to work and buy a spam musubi at the other 7-Eleven store. Their spam musubi has been my favorite when I lived on the island, it still does. This store has many necessities for tourist and locals, such as party supplies, toiletries, slippers, towels, sun care products and deli items. Most importantly the signature items, like Big Gulp and Hot Dogs, are no exception. Employees are always courteous and knowledgeable. I am blessed to come here daily during my stay. read more

We have been watching a ton of TikTok videos on cost effective eats in Waikiki and kept seeing people rave about the spicy ahi rolls. They are under $4 and were AMAZING. Don't be confused with the tuna rolls, which are made from canned tuna- get the Ahi We found this location to be clean and convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I only knocked off one star for a couple of drugged out people in front of the 7-Eleven who were being pretty disruptive - not 711s fault. Don't miss: - haupa and ube slushee. Butter mochi looked interesting but we didn't try it. - brown sugar boba ice cream - samanco fish shaped wafer ice cream - mochi - fresh! - spam musubi rolls - so fresh!!! - Asian shrimp chips I never thought I would be bragging about food that came from 7-Eleven much less "gas station sushi." 5 stars for hand rolls! MY GOSH, the hold these hand rolls had over me during my visit to Honolulu was unreal. This location was right next door to my Air BNB so I'd pop down every evening or morning and pick up a few hand rolls to snack on. They have a bunch of hot food warming by the front register, but they have way more cold options to bring home and heat. TBH though, skip all that and just go straight for the hand rolls. I tried, Shoyu Ahi, Spicy Ahi, Spicy Ahi Dynamite, and Shrimp Dynamite but they had a couple other basic options too like Ca roll or tuna something something. My favs were the two dynamite flavors because you guessed it, they were dynamite!!! lol Aside from being a tasty snack, theyre cheap! Filling! Annnnnd they're hella fun to eat! They're packaged in a special way to keep the nori crispy and fresh! so you have to essentially roll the sushi into the nori yourself. We love an interactive meal (sometimes). I feel like my secret talent is rolling these hand rolls up so holla at me if you need some help. All you have to do is fly me out to HI! haha There's literally another 7-11 right across the street from this one, so if one doesn't have what you want, just cross the street and check the other out. Aside from hand rolls, I tried their garlic chicken musubi, spicy garlic spam musubi, and pork hash. They have these fridged, but just get them from the hot warmer up front. The pork hash is basically shu mai! Pretty good flavor but I wish it came with a dipping sauce. Same sentiment with the garlic chicken musubi. This thing was massive and stuffed with hella chicken buuuuut I felt like it needed a sauce of some sort to bring it all together. The chicken was fried but there wasn't any crisp left in the musubi so texturally, it was eh. But flavor wise, not too bad. Also cheap and super filling. One of these alone is honestly enough. I'm fat though and ate everything lol I suggest skipping the spicy garlic spam musubi. I was soooo greasy! lol the garlicky butter gave me cajun vibes but this plus spam was just sodium overload. The thick rice did offset the strong flavors and soak it all up so there's that at least. Also cool is this location offered some goodies from Ubae (a local sweets shop?) I went with the chocolate haupia tarts. Sooo yummy! Get this! Chocolate and haupia just go together so well. Neither part is overly sweet either which is nice. One is good, but two could be better ;) Theres 4 in 1 pack! I did feel a little jipped because 1 of my tarts had minimal haupia filling which you can see in the pic. My first experience at 7-Eleven in Hawaii was ahmazeballs and I'd honestly make it a point to come back and visit every trip. read more

It will never cease to amaze me how much better 7-11s are here in Hawai'i as compared to the American Midwest. The 7-11 that is all that is left of the 294 Oasis is about as clean as a public toilet in India, the service is akin to state prison security, and the food and drink offerings look toxic. Here the 7-11s always have a good selection of local taste snacks, local products, friendly respectful workers who call me "uncle," and it's clean. Tips for people looking to buy candy/snacks as souvenirs, do not go to your 7-11 chances are you'll have better luck going to foodland or Don Quijote for snacks and at a more affordable price! Believe me because I have went to every store in town just to bring snacks home and accumulated the best prices and convenience for those looking to do the same. 7-11 has a very slim variety of candy and they're usually out, I'd only suggest coming here for their hand rolls, slurpee flavors that are exclusive in Hawaii, and certain hot foods. read more

A 7-Eleven is an experience when you're in Hawaii. Different food, different snacks and different flavors of the iconic Slurpee! We tried some fresh and hot Spam Musubi, Dragon Fruit Sugar Free Slurpee and the Butter Mochi Slurpee. Everything was delicious and a perfect snack for the day. The 7/11 here have pre-made hot meals and items that they don't have back in Los Angeles! Why can't we have the same selection as this 7/11? The spam masubi, onigiri, rice plates, etc. look way better for my taste than the American hot dog and other basic chicken tender items. The rest of the selection was the same here. The ready-to-eat meals stood out for me. Good for a late night eat-out if you're still awake around the area! This was our favorite stop out of Hilton Waikiki village. They have hot food exclusive to Hawaii including shu mai, fried rice, and musubi. Because this isn't in the village it is about a dollar cheaper for everything. The shu mai was a good fix for being from a gas station!!! The fried rice was freakin bomb.
