We moved my parents from Iowa City, IA, to Cheney WA, and PODs was the most affordable and secure option. I will caution some, though. You need to have your plans solid, and not mess around with "what ifs." When you do, it is incredibly efficient. I can only speak to a home move, so I don't know how they might be with a business move. The entire expenditure was under $5400 for us, moving a three-bedroom house furnishings. With my elderly parents, who are most definitely on a fixed income, this was a blessing. Go ahead, quote other options, but I don't think you will find better. I was scammed with this company on two fronts. The biggest one that I've heard other people have had the same thing happened to them is that they tell you that they lost your container or that it hasn't arrived yet and they don't know when it will arrive and they end up charging Over $400 per pod as a storage fee. I had already paid them almost $10,000 for my move and because they came up with the above-stated and pretended to store my containers when, in fact they were lost, They charged me another $1600!!! That is just for storage because they also charged for delivery which I was happy to pay, but guess what they didn't deliver on time and they didn't even give me the proper notice that they were changing their delivery and pick up times. When we sold our House in Everett, and got an offer accepted in Newport, we had to find a way to get all of our belongings out of the house, over the cascades to the eastern end of the state and into storage while we waited in temporary housing. I called A Storage House for the storage part, but right away Trish understood that I really needed a holistic solution. She got us hooked up with a Penske 26 foot box truck. Renting one in Western WA would have cost nearly 5000 dollars, so she suggested I go to Spokane Valley, pick the truck up and drive it back to load up our things. The total cost for that was only $900. She provisioned two units for us to make sure we had enough space but offered to refund one if we didn't need both (we did lol). We had three vehicles and could only park two of them in our temporary housing complex, so Trish hooked us up with a parking spot at a great price as well. When our close date was pushed back due to a late appraisal, she even let us leave the cars for half the month and didn't charge us the full rate. Besides saving us a ridiculous amount of money, and giving us peace of mind during a difficult time, Trish was really nice to our family, especially our two year old daughter. She actually cared about our whole situation and tried hard to find solutions for us rather than just "checking boxes" and charging us whatever we were willing to pay. Some nice amenities: The storage units have cameras on them 24/7 so we could feel secure knowing that all of our worldly possessions were secure. There is a cool text to open feature on the gate, so I didn't have to get out of the car to type a code. And Trish answered the phone every time I called which in my experience is rare. Overall 5 stars 100% for A storage house and Trish. They were without a doubt the smoothest part of our move.

We've been with them for three months and so far, not a single complaint. I wanted to go with a…read moresmall business where we'd have a more personal relationship and i got exactly what i was looking for. I'll describe it a little since there isn't much information online (they're not a really tech-savvy operation, more of a "we've been doing this forever and it works fine, why make it more complicated" operation). The entire lot is fenced, and there's a manager who lives on-site. The parking lot gets muddy in inclement weather, but the units stay dry; they're stick-built on a sealed concrete slab, with roll-front doors, and there are a variety of sizes. Once we realized there was space to park large vehicles, we ended up renting a space for our trailer, too. Sometimes if we call or email, we don't get a response right away, but the flip side is that they're flexible and actually gave us a few free days while we were moving in. The manager also stayed late once so we could unload when our day went haywire and we were later than we meant to be. I'd much rather just wait a day or two for a call than deal with people who can't go with the flow. The prices are more than reasonable, the accessible hours are good, and no one has ever complained when we brought our dogs while loading/unloading (we kept them in the car and on leash, though, so keep that in mind).

If you want cash replacement for items, you need to get renters insurance which I didn't have - my fault.

If you need to rent a storage unit, this is the best place around!…read more I looked at a lot of places in Deer Park and Spokane back when I needed a unit a few years ago, and this was hands down the best. Some of the other places were dingy and didn't feel safe for me or my stuff. At DPSS I felt welcome and at ease immediately and they had the perfect size unit at a great price (especially compared to western Washington!). The property is gated so everyone must have a code and there are lots of security cameras around; I never worried about my belongings or being there alone. In the winter, they plow daily so it was always easy to access my unit. They offer different sized units and RV parking. The office is staffed regular business hours with a very nice lady and they have a restroom available.
