It tasted like it had been sitting in the oil too long. the star of this dish was the lime! the lime is seasoned and hit with a flame so when you squeeze a couple drops of the lime on the chicken.. WOW! amazing flavor bomb! I almost asked for another lime. The NY strip was tasty, tender, and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, there was way too much gristle. If you know steak, you know sometimes there's a little gristle. No big deal, you can't escape it sometimes. But this was too much. I threw out at least 1/4 of the steak because the gristle was just too thick to even cut around. One thing my wife and I both agreed on is that the dishes needed some potatoes. Oddly, the only spud option on the menu is a side of french fries for $14. Some mashed or roasted potatoes would have made a BIG difference here. DESSERT Anyway, we finished up with the lemon cake. The passionfruit curd tasted fresh and delicious! It really brought the cake to the next level, and you could tell this dessert was made in-house instead of being one of those frozen desserts so many restaurants order from distributors. Rather, just the Latke waffles with the salmon dip (no sour cream and apple sauce) is $18 (not sure how $11 + $8 = $18). Also, when paying the check, their POS system way overcalculated the tip (ex. 20% tip amount was actually 25%). I ordered the she-crab sherry soup for my starter, the fish and chips, and the devil's food cake for dessert. I absolutely loved the soup, and they poured the sherry on table side so you could really taste it. The fish and chips were also fantastic, the fish was fried perfectly and really flaky, and I liked that it came with both vinegar and tarter sauce. The devil's food cake was good, but the other desserts were incredible. My friends and I ordered all of the dishes on the menu so we could share and honestly, nothing was bad, but the stand out dessert was definitely the strawberry sorbet. We couldn't stop eating it. I hope it is on the regular menu too in the future, it is that good. We also ordered oysters at the beginning to share.
