Abby's pepperoni pizza is truly legendary! The best pizza ever. Either you get it or you don't, but Abby's pizza lover is a cult. Crust is thin with amazing flavor, not spongy or doughy, just perfect. The pepperoni is not too thick and gets crispy on the edges. The balance of crust, cheese and pepperoni is the best I've tasted. I told myself I wouldn't go back because they kept raising the prices and took away where you could make substitutions on the Door Dash app. Like asking for extra ranch (they used to send it with your spuds) I was really craving it, so I took the chance! 1. We had a bad experience with our take out order. The food was ready but no one called our name. The food wasn't being held in a warmer. We had to go inquire if it was ready and it had been sitting cold for 20 minutes. Be careful in leaving a tip by card. Abby's has been here for as long as I've lived in Salem/Keizer, but...wow. Yeah. A few weeks ago I stopped by here and, after waiting in line for several minutes, wherein the phone rang and the man (not high school kid) behind the counter ignored me in favor of the phone, I finally got a chance to try and order. I got told the wait time for a pizza would be about an hour and a half. No, I left. Went to another pizza place. But my kids the other Saturday night wanted Abby's Pizza after our day of moving homes. I knew there'd be a wait, but okay. So we get there and, again, phone calls that came in after I was in line got served first. Waited through two of them before I finally got to make my order. Same guy as last time. He had fine customer service while ordering, but, apparently, I should call my order in first so I can get placed ahead of line of people waiting in person. Anyway. Get my order in for a single pizza and garlic rolls. Went and got a table with my kids. Gave them some quarters to go spend on the arcade machines. Well, some of the machines are down. Fine. I watched my one son go to a shooting game at the far end of the line...he plugs in a buck worth of quarters and gets nothing. Nothing at all from the machine. It won't give the money back. He then goes to the "play until you win" crane machine next to it, which has candy in it. He plays that and it works...but the machine produces no candy or prize and then shuts off. "Play until you win" indeed. My other son also tries the "Play until you win" machine. Same thing; no prize, no candy, no win, machine shuts off. Both of my sons go and ask for their quarters back. The same man who took our order tells them that he "doesn't have the key" to the machines and they're out of luck. Okay, so the machines don't work, but they leave them plugged in to take money and won't give the money back. What a rip off. Of kids. I would have asked but I wasn't in the greatest of moods by this time because: A couple of people came and sat at a table near us soon after we ordered. It had been about forty or forty five minutes at this point and one of the employees comes out with a pizza and asks me if it's mine. It's not; it belongs to the people who sat down after us. For about ten minutes I had been getting up and checking the pizza oven rack to see if I could see our pizza, but could not. I did see a couple of pizza boxes sitting up on the top oven, apparently waiting for delivery. After this other couple gets their pizza, I get up and check again and this time the man making the pizzas asks what my order was. I tell him. My order was sitting in a box (I ordered to eat in) and had been sitting there for about ten minutes. He insists that it had only been five or seven minutes and that he cut it himself, but I saw the box sitting there for at least ten. He does apologize and says that they're short staffed, which somehow explains how the pizza got made but put it in a box and left to get cold. Bring it back to the table; it's warm. Not hot. Warm. Fine. We eat it. (I should point out, when I came ordered I made sure to get a receipt, because when I arrived, a woman came to the counter to complain that she hadn't gotten her pizza in over 45 minutes. Despite pulling up her order on the monitor, they insisted she hadn't ordered anything from them and demanded a receipt. She produced the receipt and then suddenly, magically, the pizza happened to be ready. I should have taken this as a hint.) The pizza gets two stars because we like the product. But this place isn't it. Games that are broken but still take coins and management that won't make it right. Extremely long wait times. Lack of priority over the order of customers. Pizza sat waiting and getting cold with absolutely zero offer to make anything right. We live in Dallas now and if my kids want pizza, we'll go to the Abby's there. They've shut down early before, due to heat, but that was to protect their employees. We've walked in there a few minutes before closing, thinking we had an extra hour to eat, and the employees said they were happy to have us eat there (we didn't; we got the pizza to go, but still felt bad). I don't know if either of these stores are corporate or a locally owned franchise, or whether the two locations are managed or owned by the same group, but we'll stick with the Dallas location instead from now on. read more

Ordered a medium sized pizza with two toppings and received a burnt pizza, as you can see clearly in the provided photo. All we could taste was the burnt taste, and it gave us both a headache. We reached out to the restaurant two weeks ago via email about the issue and heard crickets. Any decent pizza shop would respond with an apology and offer to make a new pizza, with care the second time. I do not recommend this pizza joint that burns your pizza and then does not respond to customer complaints to make the situation right. We are upset that we spent around $25 for a burnt pizza. I have never had this issue before with other pizza joints. Do not recommend. I bet a manager will either not respond to this review, or will respond with their generic and insincere "We are so sorry to hear about your experience at our restaurant. Oh my goodness!! Coldest pizza EVER! Used DoorDash & pizza arrived ahead of originally scheduled, by about 20mins. Dasher (Justin) also followed specific instructions & kept us from having to deal w/hysterical dog barking! Kool! However, apparently the restaurant allows DoorDash orders up to 6:40p, even though they don't close until 9p (on a Mon. 18 July, 2022), and I ordered at 6:20p which in & of itself isn't much of an issue. So, the ONLY 2 ways that our pizza could have gotten as cold as it was would have been: 1) The Dasher held in in front of the AC or out the window while driving to us.... 2) The staff decided it would be okay to send "old" pizza's that had already been made (maybe, previous customer order returned or never picked up), rather than making our pizza's to order as expected & proper. I am not convinced the former is the reason and therefore believe the latter to be on point. I WILL be calling Abby's tomorrow in search of the General Manager or Owner whichever is the case to provide a direct complaint, as I paid over $75 ($60+ for food alone!) for a Giant, a Large & a Large order of breadsticks, only to have to turn on the oven to reheat everything! Unacceptable! This is the 2nd of 3 visits to Abby's in as many years (I visit family) & only the 1st was MORE Outstanding than expected, I won't even get into the ridiculous experience of the 2nd. I'm a fan... Love the cornmeal crust and the massive amount of topping they use. Everyone has their own idea of the best pizza.... For me, this thin crispy crust is my jam. If thick crust or NY style "fold in half" is your style you may not love Abby's... But this is "old school" style pizza that hits just right for me. read more

I have always been a big fan of Abby's but I don't have one where I live. So I was in Salem and stopped by. The guy behind the counter was nice and took our order. He offered us cups for water while we wait; since we ordered to go. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and side order of studs. The prices are a little higher than most chain pizza places but I think the quality is much better than most. I have the salad bar a once over and it was clean and seemed fresh. I have to agree with Chuck and Erin that the plates are small. If you order to go you get a nice size container. Its three time the plate size and the same price. The only problem with them was the girl that brought our order to us. There are a big pizza box on the bottom, smaller pizza box on top of that and a paper bag on top of that's. I knew what was in all the boxes and what was in the bag. The girl opened all everything. She showed and explained what everything was. I felt like she was treating me like I was stupid. I live across town so I was not going to do that. So because I ordered on Uber they take no responsibility for any mistake. I explained I was not looking for a full credit of the pizza just a discount on my next order due to the mess up i was told that was not an option and that because I ordered it on uber they take no responsibility for their mess up. Yes yes and yes!!! Greek salad is large enough for two. Lots of Feta cheese. Basic ranch dinner salad is smaller but good. Crisp lettuce. Pepperoni pizza is amazing, thin and crispy. When placing a to go order, it's never ready at the specified time. I either stand around and wait, or I leave with a pizza that's been sitting atop of their oven for far too long. Ever heard of hand washing? After handling cash, changing the trash, or leaving the restroom, don't touch my food or prepare pizza. What the mother-F was I thinking??? This was the most disappointing meal I have had in a while. The pizza was terribly expensive--more than $25 for the large size! That's more than Padingtons! The 'one time thru' salad bar was $4.50 and the plate was smaller than the average salad plate you'd find in your own kitchen cupboard. It was more like a saucer than a plate! The pizza was average. Not as good as Padingtons, but not as bad as Pizza Hut. However, for $25 I expect superb pizza. The crust was odd and reminded me of a frozen Tony's brand pizza. Upon inspection of the pizza prep area, I noticed that the deep dish crusts were premade, par-baked, and stacked in plastic bags. Not a good sign. They also charge $2.50 more for deep dish (we didn't get deept dish). While discussing the werid crust with my comrads, I declared that the menu made claims of "fresh made dough daily". I grabbed the menu to prove it, only to realize that instead of "fresh dough MADE daily", it stated "dough that's ROLLED fresh daily". What does that mean, exactly? I just don't get it. The place seemed popular by the number of cars in the lot, but they all must have belonged to employees because we were the only customers. read more

I am raising my rating by one star for this business. First off, let me say: love the business. They care about their customers' satisfaction, they follow up, and went out of their way to make sure they're delivering a quality experience. After my first visit, where I gave them 2 stars, they made it up to me and gave me another shot, and mailed me a free coupon. But after my visit today I have come to the conclusion that I just do not care for their pizza. I think its just me. Other people obviously love this place, and you might too. (I drove by Sat. night and it was packed, so people like it here.) There was nothing "wrong" with the pizza today: it was Hot, fresh, and juicy. They delivered a quality product. For some reason I do not care for it. The flavor, perhaps of the sauce, or maybe it was the crust, or maybe both, but it is just not to my liking. Do I think YOU would like it? There is a very good chance of that. So I would recommend everybody go there, at least once, and give them a shot to earn your business. If you like it, then you've just found a great pizza spot. Friday evening we finished up some errands & decided to grab a pizza. First place was Hard Wood Fire Pizza but they were slammed so we decided on Abby's. I called them up ordered a Hawaiian lady told me 20-25 mins. We arrived & waited for AN HOUR. My kids were beyond upset. I called by the time the manager FINALLY decided to take my call, my other half was walking out the door with our pizza! Both of my kids still really upset, trying to talk/hear the manager who was being snotty with me when I said I wasn't going back & having us wait any longer for her to "comp" my order!! She said they would mail out the stuff to comp me... which I have yet to receive & they're not even 2 miles away... For the giant Hawaiian we paid $24 to pick up, it wasn't that good or maybe after what we dealt with, it didn't seem appealing. Should have just went to Paddingtons where pizza is awesome & we've never had an issue! Plus their Hawaiian is $22 with better service & balloons for the kids! read more

Abby's has been around Keizer for as long as I've known (over 20+ years) and it is truly "legendary" as its been coined in its title. However, while the service is now reduced to high school kids who have less than stellar manners, it still chugs out some of the best family-style pizza the area has to offer. The place has undergone some renovation as of late as it has to keep up with the rapid development of its city surroundings, hence it looks better than before inside and out. Good pizza! Haven't been here since High School 30 years ago, but have always remembered it as being good ... and they are. Was there Tuesday night for a fundraiser for a dear friend who is fighting cancer. Let me just take this opportunity to say how totally cool it is of Abby's to do fundraisers for people - this is not the first time they've ever done this. They give 25 percent of the proceeds to the person the fundraiser is being held for, as well as allowing jars on the counters for people to donate. I don't know of any other place that does this - so that, in & of itself, is super cool. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The service left a little to be desired - the young man who started my order was very friendly ... but he was underage and unable to sell alcohol. He didn't even know the prices of their alcoholic beverages - and instead of getting someone to help him, he just kept standing there telling me he didn't know and he couldn't help me, but that "she" could "when she gets done". Didn't ever find out who "she" was or what "she" was doing - never saw "her". I had to ask the young man to please get someone who could help us NOW, and he called over an older man who was making pizzas. This gentleman was obviously very annoyed that he had to come help me, and let me know it. So points down on the service. The pizza is yummy, especially the thin crust. Deep Dish crust is just OK. Toppings are yummy. We had the Pepperoni, the Meat-Izza (SO GOOD!), and the Sicilian ... which is a white sauce pizza, and is sooooooo good. We only got a small one of the Sicilian, to try it, and next time we will for sure get the largest size. Delicious! read more
