The menu had a wide selection of items and some were unique to a small town cafe. The prices were low and the food plentiful. The omelets were huge and hash browns crispy. The pancakes were also very large and the sandwich our friend ate was make with French toast as the bread. Everyone liked the food and service. The food came relatively fast as well. We would definitely go back again. We had no room for the homemade pies and desserts. They even had homemade bread pudding. Next time , I will start with bread pudding and work my way into the entree. Well done for a little restaurant in a little town. Don't expect fancy tables or atmosphere, it's a cafe. This place was so comfortable! The paintings on the walls make it feel like you are at home and it has a unique seating area in the front that I loved! I came here with three others and all our food was wonderful. I had the fried cod and it was flaky, crisp and delicious especially paired with the green beans. Stopped in for a brunch on a Saturday- July 4th weekend- restaurant was about three quarters full. Got seated right away, very friendly service and the meal came super fast. My wife had some sort of a breakfast bowl and pancakes which she thoroughly enjoyed- she's normally not a big eater but she ate all of her meal. I had a hot croissant sandwich - croissant was a bit soggy but I still enjoyed it. We were out of there in less than half an hour to continue our road trip. This restaurant has lots of parking, an extensive menu, friendly servers, inexpensive, family friendly etc. I would recommend this for a quick bite to eat in a friendly atmosphere. Lots of locals there which is a good sign. It would be 5 stars except for the soggy croissant - I would definitely stop there again though. read more

Driving through Wisconsin, on a different route to Minnesota, we decided to stop here on a whim. It's a nice diner, clean and welcoming. We had salads... nothing to write home about, but big and good. They included halves of hard boiled eggs on them and large chunks of cucumber. Good enough! It was a nice stop on our drive. read more

Stopped for lunch on a road trip through Wisconsin. They serve breakfast all day and I am always a sucker for biscuits and gravy! It was very good and piping hot. You can get a half order or a full order for $1 more. Very reasonable prices, low as a matter of fact! It was very busy so service was a bit slow but our waitress was very friendly. They also have a senior menu but I didn't order off that. My traveling companion did but I neglected to get a picture. The cafe was convenient to get to from the highway. read more

What a great little place! Happened upon Abby Cafe on our way through to MN and so happy to have found it. Service was excellent and food was delicious! Nothing fancy but I will take a good, clean well run place over fancy any day. Our group was 9, all different items ordered and everything came out right, hot and at the same time. We just enjoyed a lovely Mother's Day lunch at Abbey Café. It was delightful. Our waitress, Nicole, was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is old school cute and very clean. I had the baked chicken special for the day and it was delicious with tasty dressing and gravy. We noticed that the staff gets along very well as they seemed to be enjoying themselves and each other. Finally went to abby cafe tonight..started off with the sampler, then ordered 3 piece fish fry. With hashbrowns,cole slaw and corn., wife ordered potato soup n mushroom swiss burger. The food was amazingly hot, service was great. All the food was fresh and hot. Exactly what i expect from family dining..awesome experience, you should all be proud. I will definitely visit again.. again " WOW"...prices of the food was best in town by far...quality was best in town as well. This is a great stop if you're traveling between Minnesota and Green Bay. Take the kids sometime so they can at least see what home cooking and friendly service is about rather than always stopping at the gas stations and fast food outlets at the highway interchange a mile away. I sometimes stop in for pie and coffee. A large variety of fresh baked pies. The coffee is standard restaurant supplier coffee but they keep making it fresh. read more

My daughter and I were traveling from Green Bay to WoodBury/St Paul Minnesota Saturday Sept. 19, 2020 and found online the details to get to your restaurant. It was early like 6:30 am and Nicole was on staff that morning. We loved the welcoming and clean surroundings. The service and food was perfect. Best omelet I have had in a long time. My daughter enjoyed the skillet breakfast with poached eggs. Nicole said she is the manager and was friendly and made sure we had all we needed. I went to that seminar for Alovea.com and Nicole I learned about an immune balancing product and products you said to include. The newest is Cellabrate a chewable. Standard small-town America cafe. Abby Cafe caters to the community it's in. If you want hearty, no-frills food this is the place to go. Don't misunderstand though, the food is good and plentiful. The chicken is moist and not overdone. The coleslaw has just the perfect amount of tang and wasn't too heavy on the mayo. The mashed potatoes are real. At Abby Cafe, in a farming community, you'll get the basics done right. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

Man, I really wanted to like this place since there were good reviews,but no. They prepare food here but they do not make it. Everything, but the fries, tasted like a poorly made microwave dinner, even the coffee. I had the beef tips and noodles with mashed potatoes, the beef was all gristle, and the mashed potatoes were instant. The fish was okay but the veggies were school cafeteria style canned mixed veggies. I'm giving it two stars, instead of one, because the waitress was really nice and the french fries were okay. read more

Worth the stop! Older restaurant with days gone by charm including old curved counter with stools but doesn't feel dated at! Very clean and impeccably maintained! Food tasted home cooked. Today was my second time at this restaurant, but I won't be going back. It IS a cute little place, but thats about the only thing going for it. The food is passble, but very expensive for a small town diner. We mentioned the prices to the server who told us we could complain if we wanted, but the owner would just tell us to go to McDonalds. Server wasn't eager, and actually looked annoyed when I got up and requested a condiment, and today ours used not one but two racial slurs in conversation with us, a biracial couple. Once I did get my food it wasn't made incorrect, I asked for no sauce and it was put on my sandwich. Kids pop corn chicken was cooked so long there was no chicken left it was cooked way to long. Some of our food wasn't the hottest. They need to find a different cook! Complained about the popcorn chicken and the owners sat at the booth eating there dinner looked over by us listening to us complain to the waitress and not a word out of them! If I could give less then one star I would. We were in the area for a funeral so we stopped in for breakfast. They weren't even that busy but they said they were out of menus but but go ahead and take a seat anywhere. After we set down for 20 minutes still no service tried to get someone's attention but nobody would help us so we finally just got up and left. There were more empty tables than occupied ones, and it did not at all seem busy. We decided to stay and ordered burgers. Worst service experience I have ever had in my life. Waitress brought my coffee in a cup that was so dirty gross with chunks, that I had to send it back. She had to have seen it was dirty when she filled it. Then she brought us a muffin that was at least 5 days old. It was hard as a rock. But she brought it anyway. Then when she brought our meals, she put whipped cream on the waffle when she was asked not to. My dinner came with no salad or dinner roll. I received them after I was finished with the meal, even though I pointed it out to her upon receiving my meal. The actual waffle, chicken and potatoes were excellent and that was their only saving grace. I will never go back. Rather eat at the truck stop in the area. read more

I used to stop here in the late 1960s with my children when I was teaching in eastern WI and we were on our way to visit my parents in western WI. We always liked the food there, so when I was on my way home from a weekend in the east to the west(where I now live) last Sunday, I stopped to eat there. A lot has changed over the decades, including the building and the owners and workers, but the food is still great, in my opinion. I had the most inventive and delicious sandwich I can recalll in a restaurant: grilled sourdough bread with bacon, cheese, and apple slices! And the sweet potatoes fries I prefer to regular potato were crispy, not greasy, and also delicious. I hate long drives, but if I come past Abbotsford again, I'll stop here! read more
