Had a wonderful experience at this cafe today. The star of our meal was a brisket sandwich with a homemade blue cheese dressing. The dressing was mild but complimentary and had me ordering a small side to add extra. The focaccia bread it was served on was warm and soft and the brisket was very tasty. Additionally, we ordered a tuna avocado sandwich which was on the lighter side and very fresh. I did appreciate the sandwich but it was missing something to truly make it memorable. It was served on One Love sourdough. Next time I would add a dressing or something with a kick. They offer "Kettle" chips :) Yum. Such a cozy atmosphere! The employees were so welcoming and patient with us making a decision, got our food to us within a reasonable amount of time(10 minutes), put up with our loud kids(4), and our messy table. You guys are top notch! My husband ordered the Tuscan Hummus, which inspired him to make his own wrap sandwiches ;) I had the Meat Lovers Croissant Sandwich, a Cream Cheese Blackberry Muffin, and Orange Blossom Coffee. They were all scrumptiously good, but my favorite was definitely the drink, and it's a plus that my kids liked it(we believe in caffeinating them early). Our kids also had an M&M cookie and a doughnut, which they ate, and that means these were excellent! My kids don't always eat everything, but when they do, it's worth checking out these local cafes! read more

Bulletproof coffee? Are you kidding me? No, I'm not kidding. I've said for a while that I'd like to find a place that serves bulletproof coffee, and Uncommon Ground does. For those who don't know, bulletproof coffee is coffee with butter and (usually) MCT oil, with the idea that the fats are better for oneself than the usual sugars and carbs consumed in the morning. Whether you buy into that or not, it definitely is a different, maybe better, way to have coffee. So although I've gone to many coffee shops, I've never found a place that had bulletproof on the menu. At Uncommon Ground, the coffee was at least as good as mine back home, and I've also had wraps and other coffee drinks, all of which were excellent. So I do not like giving five start reviews, but I would be doing a disservice to Jaco and the whole crew to go any less than five stars and her is why. 1 Atmosphere- relaxing it is warm and open. There is outdoor seating in front, and in back. On any given day you can find students doing school, business people working, or friends just hanging out. Jaco does not mind if you buy a coffee and just hand out. I am here five days a week, because of how welcoming and inviting it is here. 2 Coffee and tea-They serve Condor coffee it is great, it has actually spoiled me now I am much more picky on my coffee. I personally do not drink tea but they have a huge selection of tea to choose from. 3. Food and and Baked Goods- Cinnamon Rolls Scones and more you can not go wrong with their baked goods. My personal favorite is the cinnamon roll and my waist line testifies to that fact. Breakfast food I suggest trying the loaded oatmeal it is so good. Lunch and dinner- The options don't stop at breakfast lunch and dinner is also available. For lunch I recommend the yellow fin Tuna either in wrap or a salad. I have tried most of the menu for food, and you seriously can not go wrong with anything they have to offer. Call your order ahead and it will be done when you get here, but even with a long line the staff works so fast it won't take long to get whatever you order. 4. The Staff- Three words that describe the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and friendly. They will remember your name, and if you are like me and order the same thing they will remember your order. You will always be greeted with a smile, and maybe even a joke or two. I have not found anything they do not know to make, and if they have an order for something new they learn how to make it for you. Great coffee from Alakef roasters out of Duluth, MN (probably my second favorite only to Alterra). But wait...there's more! A friendly, cozy atmosphere. Think farmhouse meets arthouse. Awesome home made muffins. Tasty sandwiches on fresh baked bread for about the same price point you'd encounter at a sub chain. What is the purpose of living without a nice hot cup of 'Good Morning America' to start your day. While the 'ole percolator in your average kitchen does the job, a coffeeshop is more about the experience. It's like comparing McDonalds to a Steakhouse. Both of them will fill you up, but one is much more desirable. Uncommon Ground is certainly a more exciting place to draw yourself out of your morning grogginess.
