My kind of nightlife. Full transparency: We declined the bread. Yes... IK. A cardinal sin. A culinary betrayal. But after a certain age, carbs stop being your friend and start acting like that shady acquaintance who convinces you to make bad life choices. So we stayed strong. Mostly. AMBIANCE: Simple, cozy, chandeliers doing their little sparkle thing. Nothing over-the-top. A calming video montage with meditation music playing that had me halfway to enlightenment before our entree's arrived. Kept us entertained of guessing what part of the world the videos were from - Dubai I knew for sure SERVICE: Pleasant. Attentive without hovering like a helicopter parent. Waters pro-actively refilled often, and our waitress offered more rice like she knew my carb boundaries are weak. Respect. FOOD: Entree's: Lamb kabobs (medium) Shrimp tandoori Marsala (regular) Listen... I could've just ordered a vat of that masala sauce and a spoon and called it dinner. Creamy, perfect texture, medium spice level that said "hello" w/out choosing violence. The kabobs didn't look appetizing to me, and appeared tough to chew and cut, but no verbal complaints from my better half (shrug). My only disappointment: I was so busy living in the moment (and inhaling my food) that I forgot to take photos of the entrées. Not en "elite" move, IK! Also... it's Indian food, so let's all be honest: Plan your evening activities accordingly. Proceed with caution if you're strolling the streets of #ManchVegas later. #IYKYK

Consistently good Indian food!…read more I have been to a number of Indian joints in New Hampshire and Taj India is one of the ones that I have been back to multiple times. The staff are friendly, they are quick to take your order, ask if you need additional items, ASK how your meal has been, and offer dessert at the end of the meal. These may be common things expected at a restaurant, but you see this a lot less frequently these days. They are in a great location in downtown Manchester and have plenty of seating. I have have eaten in every time except one time when I had a friend bring me take-out while I was sick with COVID. The meal traveled extremely well and if I was in a bind, I'd certainly opt for take-out again. I have not experienced the lunch buffet, every time I visit, it is after buffet hours. However, I do hope to try it some time soon. I haven't been disappointed by anything lately, the biggest complaint that I had was when a Samosa had a cool core, but I do understand that some food has to be prepared in advance and I'd rather have a cool center than an overcooked exterior.

We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrees and naan to share, but we each had one item that we favored. I asked if everything can come at the same time. They said yes. Each dish came out one at a time, 15-20 minutes apart. After each dish, I asked if the rest was coming together. They kept saying yes. By the third time, I explained what we wanted again and they again said the rest was coming out together. Nope. I told the waitress that we were disappointed with what was happening and asked if she can bring the final dishes together. She said yes. Nope. My boyfriend got the meal he ordered last, approx. 1.5 hours after we got there. It was luke warm. The food was mediocre (at best). They hardly checked on us, we kept having to ask for drinks. We just wanted to leave and it took a long time to get the check. We were there almost 2 hours in total. The chicken chilli came with sesame seeds on it. I've never seen that before and it wasn't in the listed ingredients. I have an allergy to it, my bad for not declaring it but if they are going to list the ingredients, I wish they listed all of them. I've only tipped service less than 20% in my entire life, even for bad service, on principle. I tipped 15% here and as I walked out, I felt like that was too much. Some of the worst service I've had.

The chicken korma I'd eat every day. The momos were fresh and flavorful. I cannot wait to go back. If there were six stars they'd have it from me.

I'd never tried Rupee beer and was delighted to find that it has a good taste, kind of similar to a Blue Moon. My friend got the mango margarita and said he tasted like a basic puree. We got the spinach pakora and onion bhaji app. The onion bhaji was incredible. It was a fried semi-caramelized onion patty, which came with two chutneys. I love onions and look forward to trying this dish again. I got the chicken korma, a dish I've been interested in trying for some time now. I hope that all chicken kormas are like this one because the flavor was absolutely incredible! It's creamy cashew sauce with cubed chicken. I got mine at a medium spice level and it was perfect. The dish was really layered in its flavors with the cashew flavor not being over powering. The restaurant is a pretty nice size, with plenty of tables and room for many guests. The bar is small and the drinks took a while, but we came at the end of the night and I think there were only two people working the front. It seemed like a family owned spot and I hope they succeed here. The food was delicious!

It was quiet and there was only one other table with guests, probably because we were there around 4:00, shortly before the dinner hour. Bathroom cleanliness is critical restaurant criteria: Destination gets 4.5 stars for cleanliness. Our waiter was very polite and stood away, watching and waiting, ready to serve. Two of us shared one flavorful vegetarian entrée with rice, a side of perfectly spicy red chile paste and an order of garlic naan. Destination was convenient and good quality

However, the red chutney spread inside was way too sour for our liking. The sambar and chutneys on the side were flavorful. *Porotta was nicely flaky and served warm. *Vada was good, but the idli tasted old and clearly reheated, not freshly made. *Veg Hakka Noodles were tasty but mostly just noodles with barely any veggies. *Andhra Special Goat Curry was excellent; flavorful with tender, well-cooked mutton. *Mutton roast Biryani was also very good, with moist, flavorful rice and perfectly cooked mutton pieces. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive even though there were only a few other tables occupied. Our server never checked in during the entire 1.5 hours we were there. When we asked questions about the menu, she seemed completely unfamiliar with the items and couldn't give any clear answers. It felt like she was new or hadn't been trained properly, which made ordering a bit frustrating. The decor is simple and casual, similar to many Indian restaurants. The TV was playing loud music, which made the vibe a bit chaotic rather than relaxing. The food was overall good, and there's definitely potential here. But the slow service, lack of staff engagement, and poor menu knowledge made the experience less enjoyable. Hopefully, they can improve on that front because we would definitely love to come back!
