this the type of shop to accept you car knowing they have cars they have to work on or will just put your stuff to the side to do what they want idk there quality of work but there communication is trash and they are willing to lie to get you to just leave them alone so they can drag there feet and waist your time while you wait for your car I appreciate them for being nice but nice and honest are two different things if you value your time I recommend just calling around and looking at reviews before opting into this place... :( also theres random water in my trunk yes they did go into the car but supposedly didnt do a thing also my paperwork under my floor mat was gone thru and it was hidden for a reason I thought it wouldn't get moved I guessed wrong... read more

Taking your vehicle here will be the worst decision of your life. If you don't already have one headache, you WILL have another. Problem after problem once they touched the vehicle and on top of it all their work is NOT clean! They also forget to put things back on. We left missing a cap we previously had before taking it in. Leaking was unbelievable. We took it in a total of SIX times and still had issues. Damages to our fluid tank that never had a previous crack.i would honestly give zero stars if I could. read more

Revised review: My wife took my car in with her son a few years back. They told her that in a 2016 car with 80,000 miles with a closed transmission system that the oil was "burnt" My wife was very upset so I called to investigate. The guy who answered had a bad attitude, so I physically went down there. Toyota, along with my personal certified mechanic that same day informed me that the car would have given my a AT light if the trans oil was "burnt". My wife took my son to a nearby restroom(because apparently in my first review the guy said that "we don't have a customer restroom") and the paperwork given to her was nowhere to be found. Immediately I knew that they were probably attempting to take advantage of my wife by doing unnecessary work. In my opinion that is just awful and should be condsidered when doing business with this AAMCO. Have someone with you who knows at least something about cars because they will try and take advantage. Still driving the same car with the same "burnt" transmission oil 50,000 miles later! They blatantly lied to my wife and got an attitude with me when I found them out. Towed in my car from firestone because they were not able to do it. They had my cracked oil pan fix in a day and replaced my motor mount all within two days . Don't trust this place. They never called me for a part I needed and left me hanging. Also they said that they did a diagnosis on my truck and found that the transmission fluid was good and did not needed to be changed. WRONG on my truck there is no dip stick and you can't tell just by looking. I went to a truck repair that specializes in diesel pickups and the trans fluid needed to be replaced and the filter was done. Please don't go here. read more

They were very rude to someone who paid over $1600 in repairs . It took a week and half to get my truck repaired in the meantime I rented a car and let them know that I rented it for a month and will be returning it back on the 3rd in which I hope my truck will be ready . They texted me a week prior to the 3rd about my truck being ready and to let me know they had a couple of recommendations which one was front brakes needed to be replaced and I needed a transmission flush in which I asked them to do the transmission flush and I would pick it up on the 3rd . I picked it up in the am on the 6th because they closed on me on Friday and Saturday they said they closed at noon but when we got there at 11:45 it was already closed and Sunday they are closed ... I found out from my daughter they had a 10% off coupon for all repairs up $159 so I printed it out and presented it to their so manger in then office on Monday and she said said she will not honor it because she didn't charge me any "STORAGE" fees . Storage Fees for 3 days . I think that was so wrong but I paid her in cash the $1632. 75 and promise myself that I would put them on yelp and the BBB! Never will go there again ! The office lady was very rude and not professional at all ! And they had plenty of space for my truck so I really think that was really wrong ! read more

I brought in my 1998 S-10 to have the Clutch replaced they picked on my Vehicle all I needed was a replacement of the clutch I got information that I was already aware of Codes oil leaking the clutch is a Major Repair, I have been Struggling to repair the catalytic converter which I have been aware of people Stealing them I rep 2 weeks prior I had to Finance the Repair 4 days later the same day later the Odometer,Gas gauge,Tachometer do not function properly? just Treated my Pickup Truck like a Old Bucket of Bolts. My son needed a transmission for his 2014 Nissan Versa. The staff was very responsive and the guy that answers the calls was reassuring and kind. I was a little concerned about the price. It came in very high, but too be honest there were no cheaper ones. I felt it was a fair deal and we all know everyone wants to feel they are getting a good deal. But, to be honest we had nothing to compare it to. A transmission is a very specific repair and trying to get that repair today proved to be very difficult. So, in that regard I am grateful for their service. So only time will tell. I Believe we have a 18 month warranty on the service provided and hope like hell it lasts past that time. Brought my car in because the clutch was going out. They said they will try to adjust the clutch first and if that fixes it, I'm good to go for only $120. Turns out, it actually needs a clutch which is another $1000 on top of the $120. I told them I'm pick it up and keep driving it for now since it was still drivable. After this clutch adjustment, my clutch smelled like it was constantly burning, which it did not do before. I called them and asked for a refund since it's actually worse now. They have the nerve to get offended! Rather than trying to talk through, they get pissed off like you're an idiot for asking for a refund. The assistant manager tells me she'll tell the owner. I spoke to Chris, the owner, he begins to chastise me for not being happy with the work they did. He tells me how wonderful their shop is and that I should be happy with their work. He's genuinely upset at me, the customer, and then expects me to bring it back to them to fix. Meineke across town fixed it and they told me that Aamco shouldn't have even tried to adjust it because it's not an adjustable clutch! read more

This Aamco in Riverside must be a different Aamco from the bad reviews I'm reading. Because Aamco Riverside has the Best owner (30yrs) & 2 of the most knowledgeable & "NICE" Service Managers Estella & Andy. Had my truck fixed there last year and now My Wife's Nissan "CVT" went out. The Dealer wanted $4,800.00 and gave only 12,000 miles warranty. Aamco's price was $1,000.00 less, I was able to Finance ALL of it, and I received a 18month / 18,000 miles warranty. NO HASSLE. This is my first experience with this shop and while there was an initial misunderstanding about the diagnostics fee, the rest of the experience has been good. Accurate and honest problem diagnosis, they recommended fixes on problems I already knew existed and no more. Contrary to other reviews, I've found the communication to be excellent, both phone and text. Pricing was reasonable for a franchise chain, less than a dealership more than a backyard mechanic. I went in and payed 6 grand for a complete transmission rebuild on my 2014 Camry. I receive my car and it's making a noise I take it back they blame it on a transmission mount. Which should have been replaced if they are installing a transmission don't see why you would install it ona broken mounts. I pay for a new mount from the dealer and the problem is still happening I take it back to AAMCO and the manager Estella is so hard to deal with she is so rude. My car has been there for almost 2 weeks and I every time I call for an update she has a bs answer like come on and show my tech the problem. Which I have already went in twice showing them the exactly problem. This is the 4th time she says she will call me back and give me an update but no call. She treats her employees like shit in front of the customer basically asking him why it's not fixed yet. Don't go here unless you are good at arguing read more

Brought here a couple times had a new/used transmission put in ill get to that towards the end of what happened with that, but also brought back because of an oil leak they fixed it but i noticed when i got home which luckily is 2 miles away they didn't put any oil in? The oil stick was all the way low. And back to the transmission it's been less than a year and i recently had a mechanic check it and he told me its out and that doesn't make sense because there was a cap i think said missing that should of been put on brand new with the transmission. I called ahead to let them know my 2002 Jaguar XJ8 has a P1722 code and my transmission was in limp mode. They told me to bring it in. I did and then they told me it may not be something serious. Next day they quote me $5,200 to replace my transmission. If you google P1722 you get a hard transmission code for a failed transmission. They knew ahead of time the transmission needs to be either replaced or rebuilt but, they decided to bait and switch. First, they tell you to bring the car in or they offer to even tow it for you. Secondly, when they call back, they give you two options: rebuild or replace the transmission for more than the car is worth! Stay away from these people if you want to save yourself the related headache, dissapointment and frustration! read more

I had a check engine light related to my transmission and it took over 2 days for them to diagnose and give me an estimate. Communication was only one way - I had to call them a couple of times to find out the status of my vehicle. On the third day they quoted me a price of $2550, with the part to be replaced at "over a thousand dollars " and that the fluid was not burned but very dark and to not drive it very much more. Picked it up and took it to the local Chevrolet dealership, got a similar diagnosis the same morning - transmission temperature sensor problem - but was told that it's normal oxidation for the fluid to darken. Price was $1145 and the the replacement part was $45 on the invoice. You be the judge. Aamco did not charge me for the diagnosis and they seemed very busy. They told me it was first come first serve up front and it may take a day, so I'm pretty sure between them " special ordering the part" and waiting for my turn in the lineup I'd be still waiting for my vehicle a few days after Chevy was finished with it. A second opinion if it's possible is a good option. read more

My experience couldn't have been better. From start to finish I was explained to in detail about each step of the diagnostic process to the needed repairs. Repair was completed in the timeframe promised. I never had to call in because Andy kept in consistent contact with me. They do more than just transmissions!!!! Just a quick update, These people drove my car 23 miles, a little more than a test drive. And the car drives like crap. I just got it back yesterday August 10th (The got the car on the 29th of MAY!).
