I made my appointment for June 10, 2024. I met the owner and went through the issues with my 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Later in the afternoon, I received photos with all the issues and was quoted my price. Glenn, my mechanic, found several other issues once he started working on the car. Apparently, my previous mechanics reversed something in the rocker arms assembly, and no oil was getting pumped to my rocker arms. Parts were ordered. Once the rocker arm assembly was received and inspected, Glenn noticed one of the rocker arms assembly was faulty and ordered a replacement. Several days later, the replacement parts arrived, and my T-Bird was reassembled and back on the road. The car is running great. I am very happy with every aspect of my experience with this garage. The shop is very clean and the mechanics are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Ed Martin Garage to everyone who owns classic vehicles. They are now my go-to garage for my T-Bird.

This is the check they gave me for not doing good business

I had a terrible experience with these guys. The problem is, these mechanics assume that people are ignorant about cars, I'm no professional but I do have a lot of knowledge working on cars and I know the basics. But any way, the first sign I knew I was going to be ripped off was no estimate, I asked Mike and another older Caucasian male with long gray hair on 2 different occasions, how much would it cost to install a starter, they both started talking in circles and never estimated a price, what they did tell me was how much they charge for labor, which was like $168 per hour, I thought cool, with my knowledge of cars, I figured it shouldn't take more than an hour, give or take a few minutes, so I brought my vehicle to them. Next sign was a few days later, Mike sent me about 5 pictures of other things that were wrong with my car, I explained to him, just do what I asked u to do. A few days after that he calls me and says my neutral safety switch is bad, I ask him how much will it cost to fix it, he told me he'll call me back with the info. A few days after that, I call him to see what's going on, he tells me he fixed the neutral safety switch and he's charging $250, I then told Mike you were suppose to call me back with a price before you did that, he then starts fast talking and says he'll wave the fee, cool... A few more days go by he contacts me and say my battery, starter, and wires are bad and gave me a ridiculous price to replace them, I said no since my battery and starter have warranties, so I came to the shop took my old starter and battery and exchanged them for new ones, and I also bought brand new+ and - wires, battery cables, he told me he wouldn't charge me for removing these parts as if he was doing me a favor, so since I provided everything I needed him to install, I assumed that I would only be paying for labor and it shouldn't take more than 2 hours based of my experience with cars. After me being without a vehicle for 6 weeks now, they finally tell me they're done but I might have to tow it home, I asked why? Mike says your fuel lines may be clogged which was not a problem before. Since I work, when I came to retrieve my car the shop was closed and my hood and doors were open, I locked my and left because it wouldn't start. The next dayI confronted Mike about that, his response was, we leave all the cars open which was a lie... At this point I just wanted to get my car and pay, when I came into the shop to pay he had $1989 written on a receipt with my vehicles info on it, he brought up the other problems with my car and I told him don't worry about it and let me pay for the services, he then handed me a separate piece of paper that had $650 as the estimate/price he was charging, this was the first and only time I saw an estimate, I was upset but I kept my cool and paid and later that night had to tow my car home, when I should've been able to drive it home... About 3 days later I changed my suspiciously clogged fuel lines, and the starter was malfunctioning again which means it wasn't installed correctly and I paid for absolutely nothing...... So next I contacted the bureau of automotive repair, I explained everything that I've just explained right now, after some time their representative made a visit to the shop and that same day was able to get me $400 back due to negligence on their part, since they did install my starter I thought that was fair, I had no solid evidence for my fuel lines being clogged but I know they did it..... If anyone has had this experience with this shop, I encourage you to contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair, even though I work, I have a strict budget and I don't have money to just to give people, I was overcharged and disrespected as if I have no knowledge of cars, I noticed their specialty is older cars which made me decide to to go with them, big mistake, they're crooks who take advantage of hard working people who contribute to society positively, I was planning to have them do other repairs if things would've went well but now I wouldn't recommend then to anyone

Took my 72 Camaro to Ed Martin Garage because I had some hesitation upon acceleration and could not figure it out. I try to do everything myself but I was stumped. Turns out the intake manifold had a leak. Mike got back to me quickly and the issue was resolved in a couple days. Excellent service. This garage is a professional operation. The Camaro runs so strong now and I am very happy. It's hard to find good mechanics to work on older cars. These guys are special. The owner Omar is an honest guy and very knowledgeable and helpful. I know a lot of people with old classic cars and I will be recommending Ed Martin Garage to them. The wait is worth it. Don't waste your time with other half ass mechanics.

My 1963 Galaxie 500 needed a transmission rebuild, carburetor rebuild, new fuel pump, new fuel line to the carb, new shackle and bushings. What a great job they did. Their shop is very well run and they are quite good at what they do. I even went back and had my bumpers removed for chroming and they recommended paint and upholstery for me. Very good! Thanks Mike and Willy! Tell them Stan sent you!

They have been working on my vehicles for several years and always do a great job. Pricing is fair and the work is done right.

My son's vehicle had a check engine light on, and we were informed that the diagnostic fee would be…read more$137.00, which would be applied toward the repair order if repairs were approved. We agreed to proceed. However, compared to Walters Mercedes-Benz of Riverside, which frequently offers complimentary diagnostic coupons and service promotions, the overall value was not as attractive. I am not certain whether this shop uses genuine Mercedes-Benz OEM parts. In my opinion, aftermarket parts or parts represented as "OEM equivalent" do not match the quality and reliability of genuine Mercedes-Benz dealership parts. I recommend that customers verify exactly what parts are being installed and compare pricing with the dealership before authorizing repairs. The biggest issue that caused this shop to lose my business involved my son's vehicle being diagnosed by Jojo as having flood damage. We filed an insurance claim, and after speaking with the insurance adjuster, I learned that a request had been made for the insurance company to send payment directly to the shop. Because the vehicle was fully paid off, I expected any insurance payment arrangements to be discussed with me first. I was upset because I never authorized direct payment to the shop. After arranging for the insurance payment to be sent directly to me instead, I later contacted Anita regarding repairs to my vehicle. The repair quote I received was significantly higher than I expected, which caused me concern about the overall cost of the repairs. Another issue that negatively affected my experience was a comment Anita made to me: "You are lucky you got part of the adjuster money; you would have gotten NOTHING elsewhere lol." I found that statement unprofessional, inappropriate, and disrespectful. Overall, I strongly encourage customers to compare repair estimates directly with the dealership before authorizing work. In my experience, independent shops are not always less expensive than dealerships. While some shops advertise lower hourly labor rates, the final estimate may increase through additional labor hours or other charges. Customers should also consider transportation costs. Unlike Walters Mercedes-Benz, which provided transportation assistance and a loaner vehicle, Prestige Automotive did not offer me a ride, rideshare service, or a loaner vehicle. As a result, customers may need to pay for rental vehicles or arrange their own transportation, which can significantly increase the overall cost and inconvenience of the repair. You will end up paying more than a dealership for less quality than a dealership . Based on my experience, careful comparison shopping is essential before deciding where to service your vehicle.

In some ways, I feel like the quality of work was even better than what I've experienced at a Tesla service center. They fixed the AC blower motor on my 2017 Tesla Model S and it made a huge difference right away. Everything was done efficiently and professionally, and they kept me informed the entire time. I also really appreciated that they use OEM Tesla parts because it gave me peace of mind knowing the repair was done the right way. What I loved most was how transparent they are. They use a system that texts you updates and actually shows you the parts that need attention, so you can see exactly what's going on with your car. It made me feel comfortable and confident that they were being honest and not trying to get over on me. On top of that, they took the time to provide me with a maintenance plan so I can keep my car in the best shape possible. That meant a lot because it shows they really care about helping you take care of your vehicle long term. If you have a Tesla or hybrid, I definitely recommend going to King of Hybrid Auto Repair.
