Example; My 2000 Silverado failed a smog test for an O2 sensor that I just replaced a few months ago. Instead of Bruce charging me a diagnostic fee straight of the bat like most shops. He just told me to go buy a new part it would be cheaper than diagnosing it and if that doesn't fix it we'll go from there. He recommended a better "oem equivalent" replacement brand and sure enough that was the issue. Just a cheap crappy aftermarket replacement part Would highly recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I have lived in the area of RCC since 2010 but have been aware of the business since 2005. I was always intrigued by the thought of stopping in and having them service my vehicles since RCC is close by and my vehicles are no longer covered under warranty, but i never pulled the trigger until last year after Bruce and Bonnie moved the business down the street to a bigger location. I finally took my 2005 Toyota Tundra in for an O2 Sensor problem. Initially one of RCC's technicians popped the hood and removed a sensor near the intake. He explained sometimes the sensor gets clogged and could cause an O2 sensor to read a faulty signal. He reset the engine light and I drove off, (no charge). After about a hundred miles the engine light came on again. I took it back to RCC. This time, Bruce sat down and pulled up the Schematic drawing for the O2 sensors. Usually the customer never sees their mechanic behind the scenes diagnosing their vehicles problem. Long story short, Bruce took his time with my vehicle and found my Toyota had a issue with the ECM sending the wrong signal telling the technician one sensor was bad when it was actually another Sensor on the opposite side sending the fault signal. RCC fixed that problem and my Tundra passed SMOG. Bruce even sugggested I write a letter to Toyota and address this issue with them about my ECM and the faulty reading. Perhaps Toyota would reimburse my costs. Months later I took my Tundra in for a suspension issue that wasnt fixed properly at a larger franchise. Bruce and his technicians took care of that problem as well. Both of my Tundra issues were fixed at a much lower cost than a franchise or dealer. Lastly, RCC makes you feel important because they involve the customer by explaining their vehicles concerns in terms a non mechanic will understand. It is very difficult to find an honest Mechanic, specially one that stands behind their work. Future customers, BE WARNED of their FAULTY AUTO PARTS!!!! I had my wife's 2012 Scion XB serviced at RIVERSIDE CAR CLINIC they replaced all four spark plugs. After 3months my wife's vehicle started to misfire. After being stranded in the middle of nowhere, I located the nearest Auto shop to discover that the spark plugs RIVERSIDE CAR CLINIC used, two of the four had fallen apart inside the engine causing the vehicle to misfire. I followed up with RIVERSIDE CAR CLINIC and was advised that they would not reimburse me for the emergency repairs from the shop I went to. But they would take care of me by covering partial cost. Obviously after being ignored for an entire month they finally told me they could not do anything for me. This review is LONG overdue. I used to have a lot of respect for this place. They seemed honest and gave me a good price for the things that I needed done. I was told by another mechanic that my brakes were almost 90 percent worn and that I needed to change them ASAP. I think they assumed they could rip me off since I am a girl. I went to Car clinic to ask them what they thought and they were honest about it (at least that's what I thought). I got my brakes changed June of 2016. They serviced my Mazda and everything seemed great. That month I noticed an intense squeaky noise coming from my brakes. Mind you, this was NOT the typical squeak that you get from dust on your brake pads. The sound was very high pitched. I took it to them to check but they found nothing. Eventually I just learned to live with it. Fast forward a couple months and I noticed my brakes didn't feel like they were working correctly. I commuted to Newport Beach for work 4 days a week. I spent a LOT of time in the car. 3 days before my wedding, I am out running errands with my 8 months pregnant sister and nieces in Orange County. I am on the 405 on the way to Irvine and I depress my brake pedal and NOTHING HAPPENS. I don't feel the car slowing down or anything! At his point, I'm confident something isn't right. I exit and park at my fiancés house. I explain to my brother-in-law (who was driving another car) what I felt. He insisted that he drive the car home to Riverside. He rolls down the driveway and immediately tells me this car isn't right to drive. It is a weekday around 8 PM. there are NO repair shops open. I finally get ahold of somebody in Laguna Hills and slowly take my car to them. They put the car on the lift and raised it up. Guess what? Riverside Car Clinic forgot to tighten the caliper bracket bolt on my rear right caliper. I guess this bolt attaches the caliper to the tire. The caliper was dangling from my tire. It was NOT secured as it should have been and risked severing the main brake line. The two mechanics there said it must have not been tightened because it takes a lot for it to completely come off after it's been fully tightened. They proceeded to check the rear right tire and that bolt was barely hanging on. I asked if there was a way that this could be a result of anything I had done. They said no. This was straight up NEGLIGENCE on their part. I literally could have died had something way worse happened on the freeway. I ended up having to leave my car there until things got situated. This was seriously the last thing I needed just days before my wedding. I called Car clinic the next day and spoke to Bruce and spoke to his son, neither of them really seemed to care just how serious this was. They did offer to pay for the work done by the other mechanic which was the LEAST they could have done. I am not asking for any special treatment but considering what a horrible mistake this was I was hoping they would step up to do more. They never bothered to follow up with me after any of the phone calls I had made to them. I have never been treated this way. As a girl, I am used to mechanics upselling me on things that are car related because I don't know much about them...but not completing work? How do you guys seriously operate this way? Do not bring your car here! We brought it in to have our brakes changed but they said they just needed to be cleaned and our transmission had a slight leak. We left with our brakes squeaking even louder and our transmission leaking twice as much. Brought it back to have the brakes changed and the leaking fixed. They again just cleaned them and said they left a bolt loose on the transmissiion causing the leak! This time we left with our brakes clunking. Brought it back and they said the drums needed to be replaced so we replaced the drums. We left and the rears were clunking even louder. Brought it back again and this time had them replace the shoes and drum interiors as well. When we left they were still clunking. This was not even issue until they cleaned the brakes. Now we're left with an even bigger issue. read more

I spent over 40 years turning wrenches for a living, but now I'm old and give out, time for someone else to maintain my vehicles. I was first impressed that Bruce is an ASE Certified Master tech, which means he has had lots of training and lot of experience in order to pass the rigorous tests required to obtain that certification. I started out with minor service and repairs when I first went to the clinic, but not long ago my A/C went out on my three year old Chevrolet. Chevrolet wouldn't cover it under warranty, but they graciously offered to replace the compressor and service the system for only $1400..... I took the vehicle to the Riverside Car Clinic and the same repair was made for $650, a little less than half as much. I wasn't charged for paying rent and expenses on a huge, multi million dollar business that the Chevy dealer was charging for..! That was just before summer hit, and in the three hot months since, the A/C has been keeping us cool through all of these 100+ degree days that followed. Bruce was undoubtedly the rudest business person i have dealt with.They replaced front wheel bearings less than 3 weeks ago.Front wheels locked while being driven by my granddaughter.After speaking with Bruce's who told us to have car towed there we complied.Bruce thentried to deny that they were resonsible for front caliper missing bolt,also tried to say we replaced caliper after they did bearings. WE WERE REQUIRED TO BRIG PROOF THAT CAIPER REPLACED 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE WORKING ON CAR!He as very rude and ugly during phone conversations.Did eventually fix car as he had no other recourse. I called and spoke with Bonnie the female owner of the shop told me too come within 30 mins. So I showed up 35 mins later and the second owner Bonnies Husband Brad walks up too my car dazed and confused and said that he didn't receive any calls about anybody coming down in 30 mins. He then takes a big Sigh makes a big deal and says that he will help me "I guess" I wait 20 mins for him to finish with another customers car but too me seemed like he was chatting it up with his best friends and didn't care how long he left me too wait. He then proceeds too turn my car on and hook up the system too scan my car and decides to leave it running with the battery on not knowing what's going on and won't tell me anything. Finally after asking 9 times what's wrong he proceeds too then take another 20 mins too help another best friend customer out and left me with my car on for 40 mins. Then he says he has too charge me 150$ just too pull codes online when Bonnie his wife/ owner told me it was going too be for free he not only did that but took parts off of my car when it didn't need too be taken off RIVERSIDE CAR CLINIC YOU ARE THE BIGGEST FUCKING JOKE IN RIVERSIDE CA !!, if I could give a half a star I would. HONEST AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP! Super high quality automotive repair/service. These guys are excellent and honest. I had been here before for service on my ChallengerRT but today I was sure I had a coolant leak. They checked it out and found it was just AC condenser. I've been "hosed" so many times by bad shops in the past. I was convinced it was coolant but they showed me on the lift how it was not. How easy it would have been to set me up with new hoses or a water pump, or radiator flush - but they're HONEST. Didn't even ask for a dime to check it. I even told them I needed to rotate the tires but the mechanic showed me how I was fine. I finally got an oil change at a great price. There's no one that will touch my Challenger outside of this shop and it makes me feel good to know I have a shop with the highest level of integrity for the time when I actually have a serious problem! We took our 1965 Chevy Malibu to Riverside Car Clinic, that we are restoring, to have a window roller replaced. The car sat on the lot for over a month, which is normal while trying to track down old car parts. My husband went to the shop just to check in, and found that the car was infested - infested - with rats. They chewed through door panels, seats, floor mats, wires, arm rests. The engine has dulled from all the rat urine that dried on it. There was so much urine and fecal matter that you could smell the car on approach, and the car was surrounded with rat droppings. The car is a health hazard at this point. It has to be stripped and pressured washed, new interior - which was in pristine condition when we took it in. Then it has to be put back together. The cost will be in the thousands to repair this damage. The lot takes no responsibility for this, said it was our fault because of some entry point under the car, and the fact that the windows were down. They knew about the windows, as that's why we took the car in, in the first place. There is no way they couldn't see the rat droppings around the car, or smell it, as they literally had to walk by it every day. It was gross negligence on their part, and they made no effort whatsoever to make it right. I would never recommend taking a vehicle there. Absolutely no integrity! read more
