Hi. I will be concise in my review. It was the worst customer service I encountered with since being in the US. On the phone I was told that "I don't care what is the issue you should drop off your car for the day". It shouldn't be the approach towards the customers it is just so unethical and unprofessional. On August 28, 2018, I dropped my car off at the dealership because I thought my car was missing. It is 9 years old with the same sparks plugs that I purchased the with. Understanding that this was two days before a holiday weekend. the technician at the dealership said he thought it was the transmission and wanted to keep my vehicle for five days before anyone looked at it. This was unacceptable and if it was a transmission issue, I wanted a transmission expert to look at it. Long story short, after speaking with Matt at the Capital shop, I dropped my vehicle off with him. Matt and his team are the best! Not only did he repair my vehicle (yes it was missing and Matt and his team did a complete tune up on my vehicle), they had me back on the road the same day. Talk about customer service! Bad review: Friends, as you know, I give rave reviews for businesses and rarely publicise negative experiences. I have owned a lot of cars and I've never had the negative experience like we have had with Aamco (Capital Blvd specifically). We purchased what we thought was an Aamco factory certified remanufactured transmission because we asked about that specifically. Turns out it's not, it was from a company that owns a nationwide junkyard that gets 1.3 stars due to lack of quality and warranty honoring. This is not our first rodeo with mechanics and that's why we asked specifically. Had we known this, we never would have purchased this transmission. The transmission did not work right from the beginning (didn't shift right) and they refused to fix it. In my opinion additionally, they didn't even diagnose the problem correctly. We may not have needed the transmission in the first place---in the opinion of other shops it was a timing issue causing the transmission not to shift correctly. This is clearly from my notes because before this, I did not know this level of detail about cars!! Buyer beware. Again, in my opinion, it seems all they are interested in is selling you a transmission like the guy that sells fake rolexes out of his jacket. Doesn't matter if you actually need one. And, once they have your money, our experience is that they don't have to take ownership of their mistakes. Companies make mistakes, I understand that. I could at least respect them and give a good review if we had been offered what we consider a fair resolution. Dropped my car off here Friday Oct 28 for transmission issues at 9am. They tried to get to it same day but were busy so they said they'd look at it Monday. Long story short, I get the car back Friday November 4 and the vehicle is working top notch! :) Saturday November 5 - I go to get the GPS out of my center console only to find it GONE along with a few other items. I realize the area of town is not the best and it's easy to be annoyed and post a 1 star review, but I am giving this a 5 star review as I got a call from the owner of two AAMCO locations and he explained a few things in detail which made sense. I will be working with him to sort out the issue with my stolen items but that is beyond this review. What is important is the shop got to my car as soon as possible with the amount of work they had, it was fixed at a reasonable price, and the car itself is now running perfectly again. I had a great customer service experience with AAMCO Transmissions. I took my car in to have a an alternator replaced. The work was completed in a few hours and the car ran great. The next evening mu to my dismay the car shut off on the way home. the car shut off 5 miles from my house. I gave the manager a call he gave me a call right back late that night and ask me to bring the vehicle in and so it could be evaluated at his Cary Location. Once I brought it in he determined that I got the rare defective part and proceeded to fix it right away, even with a bay full of cars. On top of that he even replaced my battery at no charge. Which was no purchased at AAMCO. All of this while I waited, I was back on the road in an hour or so. Customer service at its best. Thanks again Matt and the team at AAMCO Transmissions. read more

The folks at this Aamco Transmission are first-rate. On my first visit, I believed that I had a transmission problem based on information given to me by another mechanic. Matt at this Aamco correctly diagnosed the problem as unevenly worn tires. It took about 5 minutes, and no charge. I returned recently for replacement of an O2 sensor and damaged seatbelt. Car now runs great. We have a new seatbelt. The cost was incredibly reasonable for all the work required. read more

I had a problem with my Explorer that Ford could not fix and ultimately cost me a new transmission. When the new transmission started going bad again I took it to ford and they still could not diagnose the problem. I brought the car to Matt and based on my description he told me he thought it was not a transmission problem but something else which could ultimately cause the transmission to go bad. I left it with him and the next day he called me having fixed the problem without touching the transmission. Had Ford correctly diagnosed this to begin with I may never have had to put in first transmission. Thanks Matt. read more

they induced me and my wife into buying a transmission that they deceptively said was an aamco factory(Chevy) certified remanufactured transmission. we asked specifically,as we research everything and they said aamco remanufactured their own. it's a lie. aamco doesn't remanufacture their own.its a lkq transmission,we have proof from lkq,a nation wide salvage yard.terrible reputation, reviews. we never would have bought it.the transmission never worked right and check engine light came on nearly immidiately. over the course of few weeks we took it back numerous times,only to be put off. we asked for serial number and info off transmission he refused. we got suspicious it may not be right transmission.Someone told us the truth. if I wanted a junkyard transmission,I would have bought one.they refuse to make situation right. if you've bought one from them pls. notify attorney general,we are. read more

I brought my car for air condition repair, I decided to go to this place due to a good review from yelp. I went there, I did not get the good customer service that they talking about in the review. Well I said maybe he just has flat affect or his personality is just like that. Then, they told me to leave the car coz it might take them couple of hours or a day but they will give us update. Well I did not hear from them till the next day, then they try to fix it. I was told that They inject dye to find the leak, it might take weeks, months 2 years and when i feel that it is not blowing cold air to bring it back. I drive it thr next day and still having same issue and called them again because whatever they did, it didnt do anything. I brought the car that day about 1 pm but told them that we cannot leave the car because we need it the next day. They have the car for 3 hours and when I called them they said thy still cannot find the leak, and I can pick it up and They are going to refer me to another service center that specialize in the kind of car I have. So I paid for nothing. I am very lenient and dont usually give reviews but this I cannot let go. If you dont specialize on something you should have told me in the beginning and refer me to somebody you know that specialize on that and not try to fix it when you dont even know what you doing. I needed a complete air conditioning service on my BMW. I took it to AAMCO on the recommendation of a friend and was beyond pleased with every aspect of my experience. I worked with the owner, Matt and he was terrific! They were friendly, knowledgable, timely and very reasonable. Usually I can find a combination between those 4 things, but I got them all at AAMCO. They took my car back as soon as I got there and it was back in no time. The air conditioner is working perfectly now, just in time for our hot weather. Even my husband was extremely pleased...and that says a lot! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone! read more
