Much better lighting and seating options compared to the old location further down Main. The menu is pretty extensive, so there's options for everyone and because they cater to the business crowd, the food comes out quick. Be prepared to wait for lunch or supper as this popular spot gets busy! Staff is very friendly and service is excellent- just like it used to be at the old location. Lots of fun drink options and a great place for larger groups. If you're in Winnipeg, definitely sit on the patio for the limited summer they get. Parking isn't an option during the day so opt to walk or take transit unless you want to pay for a spot in a lot. Evenings are easier to park so you can easily walk over from some of the side streets. Connects to the business towers and all of the great underground shops of the Winnipeg Square.

That said, the dining room is elegant and open. Service was great - our waiter was attentive and prompt. All that said, the food was pretty mediocre. My Medium-Rare steak came out Medium and was fairly tough - it's sirloin which already isn't a particularly tender cut. When you go through the door, you can go upstairs to the "dining room" or stay on the main level for the "lounge" ... I chose the lounge and sat on a cozy comfy loveseat and read my book. I found Bailey's a conflict ... it definitely has a pub feel to it (but not all that exciting draft selection) and pub grub but it also has a fine dining menu too. There are gambling machines in this area too. My server was Dorota. While she was attentive, she wasn't overly warm. My meal came with Southwestern Chicken Soup, which was good and hearty. I was hungry so ordered prime rib. I ordered it as well-done as possible but it was fairly rare. It came with lemon roasted potatoes which were good but not very lemony. The Yorkshire pudding was good. This restaurant was just okay, not great. I'll be checking out other places during my stay here rather than going back.

Tip: Get a free original grand slam or build your own grand slam on your birthday…read more My first Denny's dining experience happened in Winnipeg. There used to be a Denny's on Ellice Avenue at St. James Street. I went there often when I lived in this city. I recall saying to my friend that we needed to go to Denny's for dinner. I liked the alliteration. That location has since closed for good. However, this Denny's isn't too far away from it. This eatery is a part of the Sandman Hotel and is near the airport. I came here on my birthday for lunch. You can choose from a free original grand slam or build your own grand slam on your birthday. There was lots of parking in front of the hotel. I found an available spot to park my vehicle and walked in. It didn't take long for someone to greet me and lead me to a booth. Nancy was my server. She was efficient, friendly, and exceptionally competent. I let her know that it was my birthday. She smiled and nodded. She didn't ask for proof, which was refreshing. She let me know what my options were. I kept it simple and ordered the original grand slam. My original grand slam consisted of these items: - Scrambled eggs - Bacon - Sausage - Pancakes The only item that I paid for was a Diet Coke. I got unlimited refills. Nancy was attentive, making sure that I always had Diet Coke. It was cold and fizzy. My food was delicious. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. I loved having bacon and sausage. I didn't have to decide. I got both! They were yummy. I loved my pancakes. They were fluffy with butter on top. I got a bottle of maple syrup, which I happily used. Perfect! I paid for my drink and tipped generously at the table. I paid with a credit card. Done! I used the washroom before I headed down to the south end of the city. It was clean. No complaints! It was great visiting this Denny's. I had a memorable experience on my birthday. I'll be back when I'm in Winnipeg again. (284)

We had the "Rae's BBBQ Burger... The Extra B Stands For BBrisket". A juicy 6oz. fresh all beef patty topped with two strips of Rae's signature thick cut maple bacon and a whopping 4oz. of Canadian BBQ beef brisket, smothered in velvety basil horseradish cheese sauce, served on a buttery toasted pretzel bun with grainy Dijon aioli, red onion, tomato, butter leaf lettuce and tangy house made bread and butter pickles. Damn it was gooooood! Messy but SO worth it! Ask for extra napkins cuz you'll need 'em! Shoestring fries lightly salted and crispy! For appetizers we had the Beet Chips tossed in Rosemary sea salt with caramelized onion goat cheese dip and a Chorizo dip made with spinach, artichokes and 3 cheeses served with grilled flat bread! Now can we have a minute to talk about this Chorizo Dip?? TO DIE FOR! Hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten. I want that at my last supper! Order it! I'm telling you it will change your life! ... and how could we leave without having one of their desserts?? We had the Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake! Pure Bliss on a plate! The graham cracker crumb is more like a ginger snap cookie taste. Light and not too sweet! The caramel topping added just the right amount of sweet to balance the tartness of the cheesecake. A home run! Impressed to see the owners & managers pitching in bussing tables, taking orders, and checking in on patrons. 5/5 's for the food & service! #YumYumWpg #raesbistro #raesbistroandlounge #Winnipeg #leburgerweekwpg #eatlocal #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness #AdventuresOfWendyAndShae @ Rae's Bistro + Lounge

I was coming home with two friends after a day at Bird's Hill Park, and decided to stop by here so I can try here for the first time. The ambiance here is quite upscale with the lighting inside. I had the seafood linguine, which came with a garlic toast. It was really good, though at a slightly elevated price. I would say for the north half of the city, this is the best upscale cuisine. However, I would rank this below Cafe Carlo and Tre Visi. Not to take away anything from here though, it's still a great place to dine. Service was excellent throughout here.

The restaurant is slightly upscale, with a wealth of food options at somewhat higher than average prices. I was torn between a few items, but I settled with a starter french onion soup and an entree of chicken tenders and fries. I've had lots of french onion soups in my life. This one was quite good; the gruyere cheese was plentiful and was gooey, which is how it should be. The chicken tenders were crispy with plenty of batter. The honey dill sauce is on the creamy side, which I didn't like as much but I can imagine others preferring the creaminess of the sauce. It won't be a place that'll be on my regular visit rotation due to location and price, but I'd definitely have this in my list of suggestions for a special occasion.

On two of the occasions, the food came before I had a set up at the table, and the server disappeared, leaving me with no cutlery and a meal rapidly getting colder. The first time this happened I contacted the restaurant management and said that rather than leave a bad review, I would like to speak to him about it.
