Three different meat choices -- sweet and sour ribs, dry breaded pork, or sesame chicken -- with rice or noodles, and with Chop Suey, and consomme to start. $9.99, and you could also get another or extra order of meat for an additional $3.00. No regular menu in effect, or at least we weren't offered one I ordered the sweet and sour ribs, and it took me back to 1973, when I lived in the bush, in a town with no Chinese restaurant, and we were all cooking from recipes from Wok with Yan! The rice was okay (it's hard to screw up fried rice); the Chop Suey reminded me of the two can format of Chun King, and the ribs were like those cooked in a pot on the stove by my mother, with the ketchup/brown sugar sweet and sour sauce, and the meat with rubbery bones and all! I had the Sesame Chicken on the side as an extra; it was dry, with no sauce. And no soy sauce or salt and pepper on the table? Like, WTF? All in all a rather pathetic experience. We ordered three dishes to share: - pinakbet with bagnet - calamari - pancit bihon guisado All dishes were good, but my favourite was the pinakbet with bagnet. It contains an array of vegetables including eggplant, squash, bitter melon, okra, and garlic stems that's cooked in shrimp paste, onions and tomatoes, and topped with crispy bagnet aka pork belly that is first boiled and then deep fried till crispy.
