Probably the best seafood restaurant in the city. Great food, excellent service and reasonable prices

Tried to phone in reservation - called 2X no one picked up so ended up making online reservation for 4 @ 530 - showed up early - no record of reservation. Good thing I was early. Tip: Happy hour specials are between 3 pm and 6 pm on weekdays. My recent trip back to Winnipeg focused on a few eateries that I used to frequent when I lived in the city. After I took in a movie at Scotiabank Theatre across from CF Polo Park, I decided to dine at this Red Lobster. It was a short drive over. This restaurant has been here for eons. Months after moving to Winnipeg, I dined here with a friend. Things haven't changed much. I got here just past 5:30 pm. Red Lobster shares its parking lot with Olive Garden. I managed to nab the last parking spot by St. James Street. There is more parking across the street near the pharmacy if need be. I've never needed to park there. The beautiful thing about being a lone diner is being able to get seating faster during the dinner rush. I got a two-seat table. Yay! I arrived during the last fifteen minutes of happy hour on a Wednesday. It's between 3 pm and 6 pm on weekdays. I looked at the happy hour menu. It was up my alley. I got these items: - Tropical white sangria - Seafood-stuffed mushrooms Kody was my server. He was polite, attentive, and nice. My only alcoholic drink on this trip was the tropical white sangria. I don't know whether staying in Steinbach rubbed off on me or if I was thoroughly hydrated with non-alcoholic fluids. I felt like sangria, so I got a glass. I loved it. It had Barefoot moscato with pineapple and mango juices. It also had a splash of Sprite, which added bubbles to this drink. It was all good. It was fruity, fizzy, and yummy. The seafood-stuffed mushrooms came out next. I love this appetizer. It's one of my favourites. The seafood stuffing is divine. I love mushrooms. Having the stuffing housed in a set of mushroom caps, topped off with melted monterey jack cheese made this starter so perfect. Classic. Delicious. Happy! It was tough figuring out what I wanted as a main. There were seafood boils that were fairly new. I saw a couple of boils come out in bags at the table across from me. The corn on the cob looked amazing with an assortment of seafood. There was so much food that I couldn't do with after downing an appetizer. Instead, I went with the seaside shrimp combo. I hadn't had shrimp for a while. It had Walt's favourite shrimp, garlic shrimp, and shrimp linguini alfredo. I got to choose a side that came with this combo. I got green beans. I love this shrimp combo. I don't know who Walt is, but I do like his favourite shrimp that is lightly battered and deep-fried. The exterior was consistently crispy and the shrimp were plump. My favourite is the garlic shrimp. I love garlic. I love butter. I love shrimp. I don't want you sitting next to me afterwards. It's pure deliciousness. The shrimp linguini alfredo was so creamy. I don't normally order it, but it was worth indulging. The linguini was al dente. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. Everything was coated in the best alfredo sauce. So good! Green beans are one of my favourite sides. I loved them here. They were the perfect side. Kody came by to get me Diet Coke refills. I lost track of how many I had. Each glass had ice in it. It was perfect with everything that I ate. He asked whether I wanted dessert. It wouldn't fit, which made him laugh. We got to talking about what I had planned on doing afterwards. I had already been at CF Polo Park, exercising my credit card. I thought that I may grab a few snacks at the local grocery store was in order before heading back to Steinbach. I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and tapped my credit card. Done! I used the washroom before I left. It was clean and nicely maintained. It was great coming back to this Red Lobster. It's the only one in Winnipeg and it's still wonderful after all these years. (283) read more

The service is top notch! The menu is, of course, seafood oriented but there are other options. Personally, I recommend the clam chowder.

We have not been to red lobster for several years. We didn't find the food as good as it used to be. Everything seemed to be very salty.

I had supper at Red Lobster. There is a hockey game this evening and the arena is downtown. I figured the restaurants would be jammed around there so I ate a restaurant away from the downtown core. I'm not a fan of seafood but I figured Red Lobster would have chicken ... and they did. I created my own combo and ordered two fire-grilled chicken breasts with mashed potatoes. I thought $21.99 was a lot for what I got. The potatoes were warm and good, though a bit salty. The chicken was hot when it arrived. It had a funny rubbery texture and was salty also. The highlights of our meals were the coconut shrimp and the stuffed mushrooms. The texture of the coconut is hugely present so if you aren't a fan of that be wary. I had the lobster linguine and felt the flavors were very plain. The lobster was a tad rubbery. The juices and sauce from my dish were excellent for dipping my biscuits, though! Mm. Those biscuits. Crumbly and cheesy and garlic. If not a bit dry. It's expensive for the quality (low mediocre). If I went back if probably wait until there was some deal on shrimp so I could devour all the coconut shrimp. read more

Went to this location yesterday, walked out. A table of 30 had just walked in before us, so we understood they needed a bit of time to get them situated. So they told us to wait about 5 minutes and they would get to us, no big deal. Restaurant was essentially empty other than that large group. So we sat, watched another couple come in right after us, and get sat immediately, while we were ignored. Excellent service during rush hours too. Im a huge fan of their cheddar biscuits they arrived as expected hot and fresh even though it was crowded the server was very friendly and attentive my order arrived on time without wait and the shrimps were fresh. We had the best time celebrating my son's 14th birthday! The food was good as expected. Our server Racquel was amazing! She's probably the best server I've ever had. Simply adorable and very personable. She was attentive, entertaining, and knowledgeable. My son ordered the king crab for the first time during crab fest but he didn't know how to properly crack open the crab legs. Racquel took the time to demonstrate and made it look so easy and fun! I only gave 2 stars as the service was horrible. we went for my birthday. After getting sat down not one person came to our table. The majority of the waters and waitresses were too busy talking to each other to be bothered by the customers. After 15 min a waiter from across the restaurant came up apologized for not being waited on he said he would look for our waiter in that section as his was on the other side. He ended up being our waiter despite 3 standing around doing nothing. our starters were forgotten and taken off the bill 2 of use ordered just steak and crab legs but were charged for another meal we didn't order and given a cream crab sauce for our steak which we didn't eat. we were supposed to get two sides only got one. The food was good but not worth the price. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. our waiter did feel bad he forgot a lot he gave us complimentary brownies for our kids. read more

We had a great experience at this Red Lobster location! Our waitress, Fran, went out of her way to make sure we all had an enjoyable time, delicious meals and helped us make some pretty good meal choices. She was very personable and easy to converse with, and had a great spirit. She recommended to me the Wagyu beef burger (I'm unable to eat fish) which was, for a lack of better words, AMAZING. For $15 that was a pretty damn great burger if you ask me. We always try to make it to Red Lobster when we're in Winnipeg and our experience here this time ensured another visit from us next time we're here. As always it is a zoo at supper time. Not sure why though after the meal we had. A group of seven. Attentive service with average food I splurged for the steak and lobster. My jaw is still sore from trying to chew the steal. Well cooked but talk about tough. Same for the lobster tail The other dishes were good to fair. We all believed the Mac and cheese had a striking resemblance to Kraft Dinner! A nice touch was they 'comp'd' my dish. On the funny side, we kept mentioning it was a big anniversary celebration. For a while, the now-closed Leila location was the closest one to my house. About once a year we would give it a chance, and every time we would leave in disappointment. When my mother-in-law comes to town, she likes to go to the Polo Park location. We've been a number of times in recent years, and every time it's really good! Our server is always great for adding to our experience, the food is always prepared quickly and never disappoints and you definitely don't leave hungry. I know seafood is expensive, but the value for what you're getting compared to what you're paying for pasta and sauce next door is definitely there! If anyone is in the same boat as me where the Leila location turned you off of the chain, I urge you to give the Polo Park location a chance! read more

Portions are super tiny for price. One ice cream scoop-ful of mashed potatoes and a handful of greasy shrimp later... almost 20 bucks. Also had a bowl of gritty clam chowder. The waitress seemed depressed. Asked if we needed anything else, we said not right this moment (we were having coffee) and she brought our bills??? If it was possible I would give this place a zero for stars. Portions went down, prices went up. This used to be the restaurant my family and I would go for celebrations. The food quality has gone down. The worst part is what happened to my mom. My brother and I wanted to treat our parents to a date night. So we sent them to red lobster. My mom had gotten sever food poisoning from the seafood. (This kind of poisoning messes with your nervous system as well as brain) she was so sick it really scared us. My mom phoned red lobster a couple weeks after to inform them what happened. The only reason we called was to hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. The manager was a complete jerk. He acted as if we just wanted something out of it. No apology. He only said I guess I Can send you a gift card. My mom declined the gift card. She's been turned off from seafood since that incident. If you want good seafood especially crab legs go to alloys on Fridays for their buffet. Better food, safer food and better prices read more

Typical chain joint. Never had any major issues. They once seated myself and my wife separately (we arrived separately) but they more than made up for it as they comped our appetizers and offered a free dessert. So the service was great. If you are a person who enjoys fresh crab, lobster, scallops and much more seafood dishes then Red Lobster is the place for you. The Red Lobster in Winnipeg is in a good location. It's right across the street from Polo Park, and right beside Olive Garden. Red Lobster always gives me a sophisticated feel. It was dark and over the table you would have your own light. We waited 5 minutes while they got our table ready. She took 10 minutes to grab our drinks and come take our order. we all started with the Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms with White Cheddar Cheese -$9.99, and I ordered the Ultimate Feast which includes- 1 Lobster Tail, 5 Snow Crab Legs, 6 Garlic Shrimp, 6 Walt's Shrimp, served with your choice in side. Instead of the Walts Shrimp I asked for 2 Garlic Shrimp and for my side I had a Baked Potato-$32.49. As we waited, the waitress gave us their famous biscuits. Supper came in around 7 minutes. The food was delicious, everything had great flavour and was prepared very well. The mushrooms were done very flavoured and cooked nicely, The baked potato was very tough and could have used some flavours to it but everything else tasted great. Everything was delicious and enjoyable. The only problem I would have is the waitress. She didn't come and check on us, she took a while to bring our drinks, etc. At the end of the night I paid $39.53. So if you are looking for a place to enjoy good food, and great atmosphere and just treat yourself to a good night, I would recommend Red Lobster. read more

i came here many times with my children, yes there is sometimes a one hour waiting list but staff gives us a buzzer for our table that gives us time to go to polo park mall and look around.... also staff is extremely nice to us and they always describe our meals making our mouth water. im First Nation and i have never been discriminated here or treated unfairly because of my color unlike some restaurants that are very racist. food is always great and succulent and the prices are usually around $30 - $80 just for two ... depending on your choice of food. i will be going there again this friday to show my sister and her hubby how yummy the food is there :) read more
