This white male in unit 106 started harassing my family and I while we organize our own unit. He was very disrespectful & obnoxious for no reason. I'm emotionally traumatized by him, he had no business raising his voice to me when I was trying to de-escalate the situation. 1st of the customer service at this location was extremely rude, I was left outside in the cold waiting for the the "manager" to open the door for 15 min while coming back from her lunch break. After finally being let in I was told my unit was locked by the manger because they failed to take a copy of my ID during the check in process. This was after she sarcastically tell me I could've gotten 1/2 off for only renting with them for 18 days. She then to proceed to tell me I have to walk through the entire building to get toward my unit because I can't walk through the inside door with her because of "security purposes" Anyways. After finally getting into my unit to my surprised everything had a layer of rat poop on it. After opening up my boxes I ended up replacing $400 worth of house hold items and rewashing and disinfecting everything I can . read more

So far so good, AAAA! After months of boxes piling up in our guest room, I finally decided it was time to snag a storage unit. I don't know that I've ever seen the bf as happy as when i told him we were getting our guest room back (...ok maybe that's an exaggeration but he was really freakin' happy). It was seriously at the point of having to jump over cardboard and squeeze between containers in order to even enter the room. Yea, it was bad. Now I've rented storage units before, but this time I decided to do a little shopping around before committing to a storage facility. I had two non-negotiables: 1) a climate-controlled unit and 2) easy accessibility with long hours 7 days a week. After looking at a few other options, I finally ended up at AAAA on Chamberlayne Ave. Sure, it's not the best location in the world, but I'm not planning on being there alone at night so convenience trumps atmosphere. From the moment I walked in the office door, I was impressed. The entire facility is climate-controlled and the main office even offers a business center complete with free wifi, printer and fax service, and a conference room that customers can reserve for business purposes. Doubtful that I'll be needing these, but still a cool feature to have available. As if that wasn't enough, they also accept shipments on your behalf if you leave them a key to your storage unit. Now that feature I might actually take advantage of, since I have a lot of boxes mailed to my home. Imagine not having to cart multiple boxes to storage every few weeks! For me, that's a spirit-lifting concept. I met with Leonda and she was extremely friendly and professional and honestly played a large role in my decision to rent with AAAA. Service is everything and I really appreciated her answering all of my questions and showing me multiple units before I made my final decision. As for the units themselves, AAAA offers a variety of sizes depending on your storage needs. I only needed a 5x5 space, so I ended up choosing a unit that is actually situated above another unit. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like that, since it requires using movable steps to access. But I've been there twice since first renting the unit and it's actually super easy to move the stairs and not inconvenient in the least. As I mentioned earlier, the entire building is climate controlled, so that also means that individual units aren't accessible by car (the only bummer in my book). But there are a few different entrances (depending on unit location) and they have push carts on which you can load your belongings. They also have security cameras throughout the building with 24-hour monitoring, as well as intercoms in the hallways if you need to call the main office from anywhere in the building. Oh, and like most storage facilities, you're given an individual access code upon rental which allows you to enter the building during access hours. Speaking of access hours, the building is accessible from 6am-9pm seven days a week. Perfect for my needs! If you're looking for self-storage, I'd totally recommend checking this place out - the rates are competitive, the facility is clean, and the staff is wonderful. We have stored furniture and household items here for almost a year. We love the cleanliness, climate control and the friendly staff. We have very easy access to out units which is good as we have been adding to what we have stored and moving items in and out. Love the controlled access doors that make it safe and easy access. Plus, we use the moving carts that are located in the facility almost every time we are in and out. Cannot recommend AAAA Chamberlyne storage highly enough. We have used other storage facilities in the past and frankly, none of them have been even close to as nice as this facility. read more

When my bf had to leave for the summer, we had a couple weeks notice to pack up his apartment and move it into storage. We first went to Uhaul which were all unavailable. Frustrated, I google searched other storage units in the area. I am so happy I did, because I had the best experience at AAAA storage!!! Now, at first I was a bit apprehensive because the area isn't the greatest. I usually never venture out to Northside, but all my worries were gone once we spoke with the lady at the front desk, Leonda. Just so you folks know, she is the biggest reason why I think this storage facility is so awesome. She is extremely nice, helpful, and addresses all your questions/concerns. I was also so impressed with how clean and new the facility is. The rate was really good, and we ended up keeping most of our stuff in there for about eight months. During those 8 months, we visited the storage unit frequently. Sometimes to get things out, sometimes to put things in. At one point, the access code stopped working and Leonda gave us HER access code because she felt so bad. There was never a time when our needs weren't met. We were even allowed to bring our 8 pound 13 year old deaf dog who hates walking under any circumstance. For some reason she LOVED this climate controlled storage unit and would run up and down the aisles. It was the cutest thing. Finally when we decided to part with Richmond and move to New York, it was very easy getting all of our stuff from the unit. Our movers were able to nicely back into gates where the doors are. The rolling carts were abundant and available (as always) and we were able to get everything out efficiently and quickly. Unfortunately, we forgot to take off the lock on the unit door when we left which meant we weren't "moved out". My bf called Leonda, who was again delightful and offered to close it for him if he mailed the key to the lock. Super accommodating, nicely maintained building, and overall exceptional facility. I am glad to have been driving past the AAAA self storage facility on Chamberlayne Ave. The location is so close to the city and highway. I feel comfortable that my items are in a secured place. I have used outdoor storage facilities and I was not happy with it. I personally do not like bugs (any kind), and I really dont want the bugs to get in my items. I am happy with my new storage place and I would recommend this place to anybody. I had a gap between my 2 leases and I knew I needed a storage unit for the month so I started doing some research and found AAAA Self Storage on Chamberlayne Ave. When I went in the woman in the office was very helpful and friendly she got me set up very quickly. The unit was clean and transporting things to and from my vehicle was made easy with the carts they have.
