Do not use them !!!!! run very far away as fast as you can ... they moved my daughter and first they were 2 hours late and when they finally got there the movers were high .. they moved at the most slowest pace I guess due to the drugs .. she was going to have 2 pickups one at her previous residence and a storage unit we cancelled off the storage unit and when we called to see if they would refund any money due to them not needing to make an additional stop they were going to charge her an additional 80.00 to remove the stop!!! Paid over 1200.00 then to beat all the movers lied about the time they were done and they charged me more... called them to try for a refund of the extra billing and they are horrible to get a hold of she calked everyday for over a week.., finally someone called but said nope we not refunding ..... Very disappointed -- loaders at starting point and unloading guys different at new location. No follow through on job-- Just interested in getting finished. Unloaders didn't unload a special glass insert for a table. I called within one hour of job completion. They assured me they would find and get to me. After being ghosted, I called and they said since I didn't complete an inventory of items loaded, so they couldn't help. Out of the kindness of their heart and good customer relations, they wanted to give me $50. Insult as I could never replace for that!!! read more

EDIT: No one from the company ever called me. They care more about looking like they care than actually doing anything. Bellhop answers the question: "What if I hired an Uber Driver to move all my precious belongings?" I seriously question the manner in which this company qualifies individuals to move furniture. I had a move from Northern Virginia to Richmond and it was explained two different teams of "professional" movers would appear at the start point and end points of the move. The team that showed up at my old home came equipped with tools and did a fine job efficiently moving our furniture - there were some dents and dings and they put a small hole in a door without telling us - but I guess it could have been worse. Maybe a three star experience. The team on the other end? It was like hiring the neighborhood kids off the street to unpack a moving truck. I swear not one of them weighted more than 140 lbs. soaking wet and I was forced to help move some of the heavier furniture. They just sort of showed up, none of them knew each other or had ever worked on a move together. There was almost no communication and, while every one of our boxes was clearly labelled, within minutes they just sort of started putting them where ever (unless I intervened). Of course it was hard to oversee them since this group of rocket scientists didn't bring any tools and were completely unable to reassemble any of the furniture the first team had disassembled. I was frantically attempting to remove legs to furniture with a tiny screw driver that didn't fit up my stairs - something a professional team with tools could have handled in minutes without much effort. I was up until 1am, literally making my bed, after I finally discovered the box that contained tools that I owned. When the team decided that they had met the narrow conditions of moving all the boxes out of the truck and across the threshold of my home, they promptly left. The team leader, who was trying his level best and was working with a bad couple of teammates, made some decent efforts. But I could see in his face that he knew this was all hopeless. The scene they left was absolute chaos along with marks on multiple walls. I'd concede the move was a bit difficult since my new home has narrow hallways and stairs. However, a company with experienced and "professional" movers would have done a much better job and made the experience much less stressful. But I should have known that Bellhop isn't a real moving company - it's a gig-economy website/app using a business model of exploiting under-employed, unqualified individuals and I bet they think they are super innovative while they do it. Honestly, it would have been more efficient if I just asked a Grubhub driver to kick me in the groin a few times and given them a $1,500 tip. If that's your bag, by all means give Bellhop a shot. But I would hurry since a company this poorly conceived isn't going to be around for very long. read more

Book 2 "bellhops" to help me move the last few things I can't get by mself in the car. Confirm the booking. Rent the van, show up early, and no bellhops. Call the company, they say they will get back to me in ten minutes. 20 minutes later I call, still have no idea. At 2:41 I get a call saying they are not going to be able to assist, but they will gladly help me find someone who can help. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking on what should have taken 30 minutes tops and my 6 hour van rental. Feels like an Uber for movers. Just deal with a real company. These guys are unreliable. Gotta go, this desk isn't gonna move itself, and Bellhops ( should I say Hellhops?) sure isn't going to help with it. read more

We have moved several times and this is by far the worst truck loading job we have ever experienced. When we got to our destination the movers that unloaded the truck (different company) we're laughing and taking pictures at how bad our truck was loaded. Boxes were smashed, furniture was not properly wrapped and thus scuffed or damaged altogether. On top of all that we had to end up selling a sectional sofa and office chair because they couldnt fit it in the truck when we used the exact same truck and had even less stuff from the prior move. read more

I have additional pictures of the damages done to my bed frame, bedroom dresser, kitchen table, and hardwood floors in my living room. Beware if you decide to hire this moving company! They sent me a settlement offer of only $308 after they damaged thousands of dollars worth of my furniture and flooring. The document they sent me for the settlement agreement did not even show how they arrived at this figure, so I'm assuming it was completely arbitrary. We moved on June 22, our movers didn't wear any personal protective gear during our move. They had to change our time 2 hours before we were supposed to begin and then arrive more then 30 mins late. Our driveway and main road was damaged when the truck backed in, leaving a 2 foot gouge half an inch deep. We were then charged for 18 hours of work when they were there for less then 4 hours. Our bill was more then $2000 over what it should have been, then when they fixed it they tried to charge us as if our team arrived on time. It took almost a week to get the right form to fill out, with less then a day to do so before their damage policy would have run out (because no one would give it to us). We were told that we would have to contact Mr. D. They neglected to mention he was our driver. I thought I was talking to their insurance company and the driver never corrected me either. So when he said he'd get it taken care of I thought it was going to be the correct way. We were 10 mins out from getting home when we got a call saying someone would be out today (July 5th) to look at it and possibly fix it. We arrived home to a mostly dry badly done tar patch. I feel violated by this company, by the driver and by whatever handy man stopped by and did work on my property without us being home. No I didn't expect our driveway to be redone but I did expect to be home and have CHOICE as to what was done on my property, to my property. This company is boasts that they have unmatched value, legendary service and epic punctuality. But they tried to over charge us by $2000, they ran us in circles for two weeks and were more then an hour and a half late to our expected time. They have not taken responsibility for what happened or how things were communicated and have done nothing but blame the driver and blame me. This place was great the first time so we called them back. Unfortunately this time we were quoted a price then miraculously the price went up $310!!! The first move entailed many pieces of furniture, this time it was boxes, First time 6 movers showed up and we paid less then the quoted price. This time 2 movers showed up and the time was drawn out apparently. Bit of advice, if you present a quote to a customer, explain the process in detail instead of surprising them by doubling the bill. Your excuse that we we're quoted two hours doesn't mean a thing if you don't relay that to your customers. The employees at this company are very polite. Introduced themselves and shook our hands. However be aware that they don't know how to pack a truck. I was inside the house helping the bellhops and my husband was outside taking care of garage packing. Lesson learned is that you the consumer should be at the truck making sure your stuff gets packed properly. The amount of damage to our things is unknown as we haven't unloaded the truck yet. But we already see damage to our kitchen table because it's in the back of the truck. read more

That was a great experience. Blaize and Harry helped me move from local to local. They are nice and efficient, but the company should buy more and upgrade tools for them. They didn't have electric screwdrivers, it took up a while to reassemle my bed together. Their cart had one missing wheel, which made big furniture moving harder. But in general, I had a great experience here, and I recommend them to customers who don't have a lot of things to move, just like me. read more

Disappointed. The first time I used movers and I was really excited to have the help finally. The quote provided seemed reasonable and I expected it to increase at least slightly, but not by $400+ when it was said and done. I was working along side the guys, moving as much as I could myself but they still seemed, put out? One guy kept muttering about my "shitty ikea furniture" and another just seemed tired. I was lugging furniture and boxes and he'd grab a bag or 2. The disassemble/reassemble of furniture was really attractive and I only had 2 pieces, my bed and my sons basic af "shitty" ikea crib. But while I was at the store getting snacks and drinks for the guys they "put" the crib back together. Thank god I checked it right after they left. There are 4 holes and 4 screws, again - pretty basic. But somehow they just laid the frame in and balanced it. They put the crib inside out, screw holes were clearly on the outside, and they did not bother to use an Allen wrench that they had originally used to take it apart to fix. Thank god I noticed it before I laid my child in it that night. Tearing through boxes to find your tools right after you get in your new house is not something you want to do after paying others to do it. I wish they had at least warned me. And then when I called regarding it, the office said they would call me back to discuss and never did. Just took $50 off my bill, which is already an online promo/code I was planning on asking for and available to anyone. Huge bummer. read more

I had to move our daughter remotely because we can no longer lift heavy items plus with COVID, I had to rely on a team to move her things remotely. I was absolutely stressed until all of her things were in her new place. Well, the Bellhop team was fantastic. They even waited so that they could get all of her things into her place which was delayed for them to enter once they all arrived. So we went over our 4 hour window, but thankfully they remained with her and her things and they were able to complete the work with an additional 40 minutes. Everything goes so smoothly it's actually really impressive - they call you the day before to confirm, come right on time (mine even came a little early), start the timer on their app, move things, finish. Then you confirm the total move time and later pay by the link that's sent to you via email! Simply genius! My movers were current students at VCU and they couldn't be more friendly and helpful. They were booked for an hour and got everything done in 40 minutes... and I love that this is a men-only service, because not every move requires a truck. This service is awesome! We used this for my Dad who is in his 70s and was moving to a new home with a couple of heavy pieces so needed more help than just two of us. I booked two Bellhops on Saturday night for Monday at 9 am and had absolutely NO problem at all. The communication via email and text is timely and very helpful in terms of preparing us for the move and then finalizing the payment. The captain bellhop called in sick Monday morning so headquarters quickly arranged for a substitute who then called us on his way with an ETA as he was going to be about 1 hour late. In the meantime, the other Bellhop was already at the house helping my Dad unload some pieces. Both Bellhops were friendly, truly professional, efficient, and just fantastic. 4th time using this company....and THE LAST!!! booked 3 movers, truck and 4hr job to move 775sq ft. 1 bdr apt. on a Wed. 2 showed up (3rd got hurt on earlier job...no call to let us know this) told us they couldn't move the big pieces of furniture w/ 2 guys would have to book another move to come back to get sectional, dresser and bed frame w/ headboard and footboard. At destination....only ONE guy showed up..other mover had a 2nd job he "had to be at". WTH!! So 1 mover, my daughter and her BF finished the move to the new 3rd flr. apt. Had to schedule a 2nd move for Sat. (3 days later) to get rest of furniture. SEVERAL calls later to finalize billing etc......(which ended on Sunday) they insisted on charging me for BOTH moves...which should have only been ONE.....my total discount approx. $65 less than the ORIGINAL charge of $608. Definitely not professional movers, just able-bodied college guys. They were very enthusiastic and hard working but made some basic errors packing the truck that ended up damaging several pieces of furniture. I had a large supply of furniture blankets and told them to use them to cover the furniture (obviously?). They ended up only using half of them and I had several pieces of wood furniture with damage as they made a cross-country trip with no padding or protection. Bellhops did refund the price of the whole move. Just expect these guys to be able to pick up boxes. Anything beyond that and you need very specific instructions and to watch them the whole time. read more

The guys they had were really good, just the scheduling wasn't great. My original bill also reflected that both guys had shown up for the entire time.
