I have used Jon's services twice. Once to re key the locks when we bought our home and again to repair a door handle/knob that stopped working this week. This handle was not keyed so I did not know if Jon would be able to help me or not. Turns out he can help with just about anything concerning locks and door knobs or handles. He fixed the problem for about half of what it would cost to buy a complete new handle and lock set. Jon is fast and reliable. He gives you a time to expect him and usually arrives ahead of time. Working at a small nursing home, having a secure alarm system is very important. Ours is an old Detex key alarm system (the alarm is controlled by a manual key, as opposed to a digital key pad). We had been having trouble with the lock mechanism and gave Jon a call. He returned our call and was able to come over within an hour. He looked at the alarm and immediately knew how to fix it. He re-keyed both systems in the facility and even gave us extra copies of the keys, for an extremely reasonable price. Wow did I get lucky. Jon was incredibly friendly, kind, and cordial from the moment I called until I said goodbye. I called at about 6 or 7 on a Thursday and luckily his company showed up as the first one on the list on google maps (sorry yelp I use both) that was open. His attitude throughout the job was determined and you could tell he has a great deal of knowledge. He walked me through any questions I had and also showed me what the problem was. Here's the best part though, this was for a sliding door lock that was ordered custom and a replacement gear would have to have been mail ordered. However some 5-7 years ago he was working on a similar door and hung onto the older parts. When he took the lock apart we could see it needed a new gear, which was conveniently located in his toolbox (no special order necessary). I can't believe how lucky I am to be sitting here in the comfort of my chair WITH my door securely locking from both the inside and the outside. He even made a quick return visit (he was back at my door in 10 minutes) after there were some issues with the functionality and he took the lock apart made a few adjustments and we're good to go. His prices are very reasonable, he offers to not charge for certain things that others might, and I can't believe how quickly he was at my house and available. One thing I really appreciate when doing business is when you find someone who is a truly genuine, kind guy who has much more empathy for his customers than most companies. Really was a pleasure to do business with him and even just to get to have a conversation. He will have my future business although hopefully I won't need help too often. I had a key broken off in the front door lock. Jon took care of it and made 3 extra keys for no additional charge added to the original quote. Thank you John, you were great today and I appreciated your prompt response. I had just moved into a home where the keys had been in a lockbox and used by realtors and contractors. I was uncomfortable living in the home since every lock had the same key and it had been used by many. When I purchased the home I got an American Home Shield warranty, what a joke! One of their services is to rekey your house when you move in. I called them as soon as I was moved in the home and told them I needed the locks rekeyed. I was uncomfortable and concern for my safety. AHS took a full day to call me back and it was 9 PM when they called. They told me it would take five days for them to get a locksmith to my house, really? The next morning I decided I would take matters into my own hands and called John, he was amazing. We called three locksmiths over the July 4 weekend. Jon from AAA Lockout Specialist was the only one who called us back. We made an appointment for the following Friday and he showed up at the door on time. He installed a new lockset and deadbolts on our door and entry gate -- he even installed new hinges on the sagging gate! He made us extra keys, too. I had asked him to look at a pocket door lock that kept sticking. He took the lock with him to figure it out. He made a followup appointment and arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Woo Hoo! He had fixed the pocket door lock and installed it in minutes. He also fixed another deadbolt and installed a strike plate. Once he was finished, he cleaned up the wood shavings on the carpet. What a guy! His service charge is $60 and his prices to install locks seem very reasonable. We were very pleased with his work, his promptness, and his helpful nature. Nice guy! Thank you, Jon. I cant express my gratitude enough! I locked my keys in my car on Tuesday at Target and kept thinking of what to do, who to call. My boyfriend was in finals and my neighbors were unavailable. I was at Target for a couple hours, and to top it off it was raining all day. I called but the first time the call was missed. Jon called back minutes later, I DID NOT EXPECT IT, and we spoke. Being a typical broke College student in the area, I just cant afford to lock my keys in my car much less anything else.
