I had about an hour to get my nails done before a black tie event last month and AA Nails Spa was the closest nail salon to my hotel. I called ahead and was able to walk in late on a Wednesday afternoon. The place wasn't especially nice. It had a sort of shabby, unloved feel, bare bones with the various treatments on offer posted on printer paper taped to the walls. I was happy with the service, though. The same woman did both my manicure and my pedicure, and she was gruff in a warm, likable way. She was also a great masseuse. I appreciated that the mani/pedi came with a few solid minutes of massage, including a luxurious little shoulder rub. I got gel on both my hands and feet, since I didn't have the time to wait for the polish to dry. My nails weren't perfect, but they looked good, and the job was quick. The manicure lasted a good three weeks before I picked it off, and pedicure is still going strong after a month. If you're looking for a nail salon in the Financial District, AA Nails Spa is fast and decent and open to walk-ins. I'm glad I was able to squeeze in a visit. read more

Well, I went there to have it done and she ended up doing my nails with however the hell material she wanted to! she put "gel powder" instead of acrylic but I let her finish bc I was alredy there and that product seemed to be as good as acrylic, I was in a rush for a dinner that night. I picked 3 different GEL colors, and NO designs NO stones or anything extraordinary just the 3 Gel colors also She offered me $10 dll for a 10 min neck massage which I agreed and to finish she told me she was going to "charge me cheaper" bc for each different GEL color she charges 8 dlls ?!!! So I ended up paying for my nails $ 95dlls !!! (Including the back massage) Which I paid ... after a week and half my index finger nail broke in half so i waited 2 more days until i got off from work to go have it fix, so i went today with my daughter and once the lady that did my nails saw me she gave me this strange look and i asked her "hi, do you remember me? i came with you not so long ago you did my nails one of them broke" and she said to me "looong time ago " i said "no, almost 2 weeks ago and i need it to have it fix please", she made me sit and wait and she didn't even do it for me ... another one did which it was probably one of the ladies that help her clean her spot bc she seemed to have NO CLUE of what she was doing while working on me and besides putting on my nail whatever the hell another material she picked and ALSO changed the gel color to another color whatever she wanted that I didn't ask for, the service they BOTH gave me was HORRIBLE both of Asian bitches was bursting with laughs in my face !! as the other one was doing crap on my nail, I hold it and was not disrespectful to both of them bc my daughter was next to me , but they have guts to ask for TIP ?!! after the crap service they giving ??... I only go here when I'm desperate and running out of time. I am writing this review while at the pedi chair. Come here only if you are desperate! Why do I go here then? Well if I'm traveling or have an event and realized I only have 1-2 hr to get my nails done and I know this place will do both gel pedi and gel mani in less than an hour! Also the "special" prices will get you in and they will want to upgrade you to their menu of spa pedi. It is annoying and it's like darn, I'm already spending $90 on both and you still want me to upgrade! Wtf The woman is very brisk and pulls your feet roughly. They do the bare minimum and focus on polish to get you in and out even though the place is almost empty. When I have time, I go down to Fulton Street area or even lower east side. Don't expect stellar or even modest customer service or spa like behavior! They are very quick! Ps: too quick! I generally overlook the poor customer service (including, as others have mentioned, the constant loud complaining about customers under the assumption that no one understands) because this place is convenient and will usually see you if you call ahead. But yesterday was the last straw for me. A nail tech left an acetone soak on my fingernails while I was getting a pedicure and completely forgot about me, and the woman doing the pedicure was actually annoyed that I insisted on her removing the acetone foils for me at the 40-minute point because my nails and skin were burning. You can see in the photo what the result was. There was no apology - just more eye rolling and complaining. It also appears that there is no sterilization of tools between uses. Came here with an open mind given the reviews. I'm pretty no-frills for manicures and pedicures. I went on a Thursday and I'm writing this review the following Wednesday. I was going on vacation and went in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The person doing my nails was quiet which I appreciate, but she did try pushing for massages and spa pedicures. The services were fine, my gel manicure looked great initially. A few days later however, one of my nails chipped and the color started looking brown. This has never happened to me before and I'm sure it has to do with the quality of the nail polishes or the lamps. The pictures are day 6 of the gel manicure. I had no issue with the pedicure, the color is still intact. I would say go at your own discretion, but I wish my color stayed intact for my vacation. read more

Jessica is the absolute best, Hannah is also amazing. Jess does my nails every time I go, and I am constantly getting compliments about how good my nails look (and if they are real or not-which they are). I do the powder dip healthy nail. I swear by Jessica. Update: Have to switch nail salons because they have been botching my nails every time. Also it's really dirty here. It always has been and I ignored it. When she was done my eyebrows were completely different, thin as could be, no arch, the same width all the way around and half moon shaped. I am so upset. WORST OF ALL, they RIPPED one or two layers of skin off my eye lid. I will now have to get antibiotics in order to prevent bacteria from getting under my skin and deal with scabs under my eyebrows. My sentiments about this place are just mediocre. My nail lady was not the friendliest. The quality of the nail polish was not the greatest. Luckily my friend brought some colors of her own, so I used hers on my fingernails. For my pedicure, I had to ask my nail tech to scrub a little more because she hadn't scrubbed enough. In short, attention to detail was way off. She also put a lot of nail polish on my toes because she didn't paint them well and was going to add a top coat right on top of three coats of thick white polish, so I had to stop her. I suggested she do my manicure and let my toes dry a little before she adds the top coat.... she continued to add the top coat and I had to ask her again to kindly stop. I feel that someone providing a service that has to do with a person's appearance should be very careful, detailed, and take into consideration that we are paying for a service that can be done anywhere else. It seems like they just don't really care. Also, if you're going here bring cash. They give you a nasty look if you pay card.... yet it's 2018..... read more

stopped by here after work today after getting recommended by someone. i called to make an apportionment and came late but i was seated right away. the customer service is HORRID. at least for the nail tech i had. she was so into her phone she kept getting distracted with her phone, pausing to file my nails to answer a call, tried to talk and file my nails simultaneously and quickly filing and being SO harsh with my nails and eventually jusr my skin (my poor cuticles) she then hangs up and finished filing and buffering. SHE KEPT LEAVING ME AND STOPPING HER WORK TO WHISPER TO HER COWORKER AND PICKING UP HER PHONE AND THEN TEXTING. the tools look like it needs to be sanitized and clean. they don't wipe in between customers at all. needless to say, cleanliness and customer service was horrid and needs more improvement. she then QUICKLY did my nails, paint, dip, paint, dip and half a**ed painted it. and picked up her phone again. she put her phone down to read a message she got and then tried to file while not looking at my nails but her phone. i let out a huge sigh of irritation. like come on now. this is ridiculous and unprofessional. she was so quick with the job and literally buffered my nails so much and my cutlets are non existent and way too push down and it stung when she applied the last cost of the OPI finisher. i'm so so GLAD my nail job came out very well. i was losing my patience so bad with the rushed and harsh job, and the constant looking at the phone without watching and doing my nails carefully. my cuticles STINGS from being cut so short. 3/5 stars because the customer service i experienced from my nail tech was awful. if you want to talk on the phone so bad don't work. cleanliness needs a lot more work. also, she and another lady couldn't stop talking about the customers in the store especially in particular of one lady who was minding her business and getting a pedicure. i don't understand their dialect but understood their mandarin. ALSO, i noticed how accommodating and nice they were to their White clients. they didn't take out a nice new nail filer for me but they did to three White women clients/customers. They paid no attention to when doing my nails. so AGGRESSIVE so rushed and harshly filing my nails and she wasn't even cutting my cuticles - she kept using the nail drill which caused my skin to bleed and sting because it's cut now. she was so sloppy, so rushed, so distracted from her phone, gossiping with her co-workers, looking and breaking her neck to look at the customer(s) that her co worker was pointing out. so ridiculous. i only tipped 15% and she didn't seem pleased. i only even tipped 15% because my nails came out nice despite my poor cuticles burn now because she was filing my skin. i wanted to tip $3 or none because of how not focused she was while doing my nails. WORST experience I have ever had at a nail salon! The woman who did my nails was SO rude and didn't bother to get all of the nail polish off before putting the gel on, she didn't clean up my nails after she was done. I asked her if she would and she just looked at me and threw the paper towel in her hand down. She still did not clean them up so I asked if I could have a cotton ball and she aggressively grabbed my hands and started wiping. After she was "done" (still so messy and awful looking) she told me I was done and walked me to the counter where she snatched my card charged me and didn't provide an explanation of charges. On top of the terrible service, the salon was DISGUSTING. The only reason I stayed after I walked in was because I had a gift card. There is so much clutter everywhere and it's so dingy and dirty.
