I figured it was because of the holiday and decided I'd book one when I was back. You can imagine my surprise when I get a text, on Thanksgiving day, an entire hour after my appointment from Margot asking if I'm coming to my requested appointment. I texted her back with a question mark and screenshot that my last approved appointment request was the first week of November and that my appt request for Thanksgiving was never approved nor did I receive a text for it. She responded with a photo of her calendar, which showed the entire day blocked and a question mark showing the unapproved status of my "appt". I pointed this out to her. She ignored it and said she's open until 6pm. I said unfortunately it's a national holiday I am out of town. Had my requested appointment been approved and confirmed I would be there, but since it wasn't I have not planned to be. She then blocked me from ever booking another appointment. Not sure how this is remotely acceptable considering it was her mistake. Incredibly unprofessional/immature behavior. Which is a shame because she was a great technician. A client can't know they have an appt if you 1. Never approved the appointment request and 2. Never confirm the appt.

The same happened to the girl next to me. It took maybe 30-40 mins for her to remove it, which isn't normal... By the time she was done, my nails were as thin as paper. So thin that one of them split and then she goes "Oh im going to have to fix this its broken" and I go "It wasn't broken before, you filed them down too much". I was almost in tears at this point because i take very good care of my nails and try to protect them from bad nail salons, but this salon has done me the DIRTIEST, like worse than QQ Nails. The rest of the manicure is fine, she does the french and once she's done i flip over my nails and all of the french is tilted. At this point i say nothing because what am i supposed to do now. The apex on the nail? Nowhere to be seen. Every nail is all lumpy. She flips over the iPad, and mind you I've been here now for maybe 4 hours, and the total is $180. GIRL, i had calculated total price before coming and it was around $130-$150. The tip was AUTOMATICALLY $25. This has been the absolute worst nail experience ever and i am a SEASONED nail girly, i've gone through all kinds of nail salons, this takes the cake. Literally 7 days later one of my thin frail nails broke. The gel started chipping from day 5. Horrific, -100/10. They have ZERO reason to be charging that much for horrible nails.

They had a lot of appointments available for the same day and so I booked it and I'm so happy that I did. This location is pretty large, they do all the manicures in the front and then have a huge back area with a row of pedicure chairs... They were probably 5 to 8 chairs. This is a great spot for a group of friends to get their nails done together Since they're able to accommodate so many customers. I paid through ClassPass, but of course took a look at their pricing menu and everything is very well priced. I am pretty specific about my nail shape and how I like them painted and the woman who did my nails was super understanding and made sure that I was happy with the finished product. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back!! So happy classpass helped me find this spot. Also it's right by one of the best Targets in the city if you need to run some errands there before or after your appointment:)

Dina returned towards the end of my appointment and helped Elle paint my other hand as another client was coming in. She was accommodating enough to mix two shades together to make the perfect red. I was happy with the work but I believe that this business has discriminatory practices. I barely said a word, was patient, kind, and tipped well. On the way out Dina told me about the four hands service. When I went back to book I was blocked. I messaged Dina a few times and got no response. Upon further exploration, I noticed a review on Vagaro that indicated Dina told another client she would no longer see her because he nails are long (although her IG showcases some long nails.) At least she got the courtesy of being notified! I also noticed that her IG almost exclusively consists of clients that aren't POC. She was also very curious to know how I found her shop (Reddit). Dina blocking me for no reason and deciding not to take my business is not only unkind but when aggregating the data points doesn't pass the smell test. Businesses discriminating against customers in NYC is illegal. If I have time I'll reach out to the NYC Department of Consumer Protection and I urge anyone else who's had a similar experience with her to do the same.

Run don't walk to her services. Only bad thing is that you should be prepared for people to stop you on the street. Every new design I get people compliment and say it's so unique and special.
