Came here for a mani pedi 8 months ago. This place gave me a fungal infection in my left big toenail that I've been dealing with ever since. Never experienced this before in my entire 36 years. The tech also ripped the skin off one of my fingers and made it bleed profusely. I had a big puffy wound on my finger for a week. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

Best Nail experience since before Covid! still do shoulder massage very fast meticulous don't need cash not too expensive (a little more than I pay at my usual spot, but the service is worth the extra $10 for sure!) My favorite nail salon in the city, and very reasonably priced. I love this place and their Flatiron location equally. Basic manicure + pedicure is just around $50, which is unheard of in Manhattan. Super clean environment with calming music, and free water. You get a simple hand and shoulder massage with your manicure too. I've been to a few spots in the city, but this spot is the only one where my manicures actually last ~1-week before chipping. They pay a lot of attention to detail, and will redo with even the slightest imperfection. Highly recommend, and I will be a returning loyal customer :) read more

A hidden gem tucked away on the 2nd fl of a small building in Midtown East. Cute space and very clean. My nail technician, Yu Yu, was very meticulous and detail oriented. Loved that you have a wide open view of the street from the 2nd fl while getting your manicure done. The large windows make the space feel airy and light. And they're affordable too! $30 for a regular pedicure and $16 for a manicure. read more

Horrible pedicure service and gave me the most painful ingrown toenail I've ever had in my life. I came here less than 2 weeks ago for a spa gel pedicure. The technician had absolutely 0 attention to detail. The spa pedicure came with a 10 minute foot massage and the technician was just aggressively rubbing my feet like she was trying to light them on fire for 5 minutes until I just told her to stop and cut the massage short. The gel job was very sloppy so much so that after a week they looked like a 3 week old grown out gel pedicure so I had to go spend $100 less than 2 weeks later for another gel pedicure (at Rescue Spa because I will never be coming back here). Worst of all, the technician gave me what has been the most unbearably painful ingrown toenail I've ever had from her sloppy toe cutting work. I literally had tears running down my face trying to cut the ingrown nail and even days later it is still in pain and I can't wear heels. Do yourself a favor and AVOID AT ALL COSTS for a pedicure. read more

Summer Nail Studio stood out to me due to the good reviews. Now that everything is slowly opening up, I decided to spoil myself and get a couples' pedicure. My boyfriend and I chose the summer oasis pedicure. My nail technician got started and my boyfriend was just sitting there for at least 20 minutes before the other lady showed up to start doing his feet. Ok, no problem, maybe she was using the bathroom or on break, but at least give us a heads up. When she came, she rushed EVERYTHING; the "mud masque" was probably on his feet for about 30 seconds before she rushed and rinsed it off...With a mud masque, we were expecting some type of mud or clay; nope, it just looked like dirty grey water. The magic exfoliator, also, was on his feet for about 30 seconds. When she started to clip his nails, and actually cleaning up the nails, she just clipped away, rinsed his feet, and said he was done. His feet looked like they did when we first got there-- DISAPPOINTING! This place is only getting two starts because my nail technician did an awesome job. However, I definitely will NOT be returning! read more

I spent a really relaxing one hour at this studio getting a pedicure with a friend. The interior is bright and easy on the eyes, with gentle piano playing in the background. The massage chair was soft and kneaded my back while I was getting the pedicure. We made a reservation for 3pm on a Sunday. When we got there the salon was empty, but around 3:30 another 7 people slowly trickled in so highly recommend a reservation! I had the gel pedicure with massage. It started off feeling a bit rushed / aggressive, though I may just not be used to having my nails filed down. My technician tested the color on one nail and asked me if it was okay -- thank goodness because the color came out more nude than I had hoped -- so I chose another color. The end result was clean and beautiful. The massage was too gentle for my taste but I failed to communicate that, next time I'll ask them to go a little harder. I can't speak to the cost as I'm not quite sure what the "market rate" is, but the pedicure job was done nicely! read more

I forgot to take a picture when I first got my nails done but it's over 4 weeks later and my nails are still great. They are only grown out, no chipping or breakage or that annoying peeling/lifting. I got a gel manicure with Grace and she did a wonderful job! I paid $37, it took about an hour (I made an appointment beforehand), and she gave me a little shoulder massage! Hello Ruby, Your reply to my review, very unfortunate, unprofessional to say the least. There was no disrespect to the Technician, yelling demands as you mentioned in your post, simply not true. The frustration came from you, when ask to redo the poor, chipped gel manicure. Don't charge $50 for a manicure, and when it's all chipped, don't be surprised when there is an ask for a repair. I am sorry your business is struggling, is this why you, the manager, took my money for a gift card, then would not honor an appointment for a service. Yes, I asked for the reimbursement of the gift card, sorry this request made you react very poorly. You mentioned a mutual respect, where is the respect for the customer, supporting your business. Maybe improve on your services, and appreciate your customers and you might see some success. It truly creates a relaxing atmosphere. However, I've noticed that the quality of the mani & pedi has declined over the years, which has made me hesitant to return, even though it's in the most convenient location for me. These days when I returned, it's just for last minute color change to avoid more damage. I referred a friend to join me for a mani/pedi once, and she also mentioned that while the ambiance is great, but the owners should get their own mani & pedi done by their technicians, which I completely agree with. While I usually don't like getting my cuticles pushed or cut, I really appreciate that they respected that preference. However, when it comes to removing polish, it's done very recklessly with a lack of attention to detail. On several occasions, they've scraped the skin around the nails--sometimes cutting it to the point where it bled and required a bandage. When I mentioned this to the hostess after she asked for feedback, she dismissed it by saying I have sensitive skin. Since when is it normal for skin to be scraped during a mani/pedi? Additionally, I've had gel mani here twice in a row, and the technician over-shaved to the point where my nails ended up paper-thin that I have to ask the technician to apply extra coats to make up for it. One time, the technician even touched my skin with the machine that is used to shave the gel polish off. I've also had my skin scraped during pedicures, which is concerning. Every time I get a gel mani, within two weeks, the polish would start to lift on the cuticle side, which shows a lack of precision during the application. My friend got a regular mani & pedi here, and one of her nails chipped within a day. While I still love the atmosphere and the owners, the decline in the quality of the services, especially regarding polish removal, nail care, and attention to detail, has made me hesitant on coming back.

It's crucial to remove gel X correctly to prevent damage, and I don't understand how they can offer this service without knowing how to remove it properly. The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
