Great products and ambiance, tough experience. Came in for a gel French manicure and was impressed by the initial customer service. Michael is awesome, attentive and friendly. During the service, there was a bit of language barrier; when the specialist had me check the first French tip, I asked for it to be a little bit thicker and she made it thinner, but re-corrected once her colleague corrected her. Overall, left happy with the experience and excited to return. However, the two nails started to chip the next day. The salon was more than happy to schedule me for a quick fix when I called, but the nail tech was obviously exasperated when I arrived. I showed her the nails and she began soaking off one, but immediately took off after that. When I politely showed her the other one, she angrily asked why I didn't tell her before (I did, very clearly, verbally and visually tell her) and kept irritatedly sighing. I get it--communication struggles are frustrating and starting off with a fix first thing in the morning was unideal for her. Just a shame when it was an $88 manicure. Might try this salon one more time with Hilda (sounds like she is the best), but new clients should be careful with who they book with to avoid a similar experience. read more

While the service was good, it was not impressive enough for a gel manicure to be $63. I got my nails done on Tuesday and this is what they look like on my non-dominant hand on Saturday. Usually gel manicures last me about a week and a half so this... left much to be desired. I stopped back in today (Sunday) and the receptionist said she couldn't fit me in to get them soaked off for another 3 hours and insinuated it wouldn't be free. I like the concept, but there are many other salons in the area that are MUCH cheaper and higher quality. read more

Ive been quite excited to try this place, and was hoping for the price, upscale vibe that I would be given an equivalent service. Unfortunately my nail tech was aggressive, rough and started cutting and only then asked me if she should cut. She asked me where I was born and many additional personal questions about my health. I felt like I was being treated by someone at a salon whose prices are much lower, and they aren't as advanced in their customer service. I'm quite disappointed as I brought a friend along, and my nail tech kept interrupting our conversation to loudly ask these personal questions or tell me about her own personal life- I wasn't engaging as I was trying to catch up with my friend. Additionally, my friend was given a nice cup of tea and no one asked me even once. I'm confused why I received this sub par service all around. read more

Have been here twice, and had a wonderful experience both times. It's easy to relax here. Great music and also a good vibe. Staff is great from beginning to end. I had Hilda, she gets 5 stars. The second time I came she remembered how I liked my nails trimmed so I was able to relax during the pedicure and actually read. I live on the UES but it's worth the trip to come to a non-toxic polish salon. There should be more places like this IMO. Scary stairs to upstairs bathroom was my only issue, but for normal, balanced people, they should be fine. read more

The booking person was accommodating and squeezed in a second service despite my last minute booking. he also offered me tea refill many times. Relaxing, low-key vibes here, and the people who work here are all lovely. My pedicures always look great and last three weeks or so, which is standard for my pedicures. I also really like that they use mini-fans to dry your toenails so you don't have to haul yourself up after you're finished and sit at a table to dry your nails like at other places. Edited: My most recent gel pedicure (for which I paid, with tip, about $140) did NOT last, in fact it peeled directly off my toes within days. Unfortunately, I am done with Sundays. If you want a clean, pretty place for a less toxic gel pedicure, this is not a bad option. (I only do hard gels on my fingers as I find soft gels damaging, so, I don't get manicures at Sundays.) They are also still sweet and friendly here. The bad: that pedicure, which is after all pretty much JUST the basics, with no fancy rose petals or added massage or any of the fun stuff, will cost you around $110 BEFORE tip. Sundays now charges for gel removal (most salons don't charge to remove gels *if* those gels were done at the same salon) and they charge $18 for said removal, which is literally the most I've ever seen a salon charge for the less than five minute process of taking off these nontoxic gels. If I'm going to walk out of a nail salon almost $150 lighter, I'd like something a li'l bit more special, and that will actually last. I must not be the only person feeling this way, because Sundays is usually pretty empty these days. It's too bad - on the hunt for a new pedi destination! read more

I went to sundays on my vacation in new york because the meditative manicure sounded AMAZING even though thats what i booked, I had to ask for it like three times and it didnt feel like a very zen experience. that being said, after spending over an hour in the salon two of my nails were already chipping by the time i walked ten minutes back to my hotel. they kindly took me back the next day where i spent more of my vacation getting my nails fixed. however, the same evening they were already chipped. this has never happened with my nails before and they really need to use better products and set up a more zen experience read more

This is for the UES location. I had a pedi and the nail tech cut me. When I said I was bleeding she was unconcerned- didn't apologize or get disinfectant. On top of that, she cut the nail so short it's uncomfortable. I emailed the manager three times about this, but got no response. I'm definitely not going back. I emailed asking for a refund, but... crickets. The front desk staff is lovely and they really tried to help- it's a shame that the managers are so unresponsive. Please avoid this place. The worst part was that another patron spent the entire time on her cell phone. Despite the sign saying to talking in cell phones, no a single employee asked her to stop. Ruined the whole thing. Was really looking forward to trying Sundays Nail Studio. At first glance, it's a cute, chic salon. Unfortunately, my overall experience was pretty dissapointing. Service was horrible---the technician did not seem interested in interacting with me and did not remove all of the initial polish I had on. She also began my manicure before helping me remove my rings (which is pretty standard at any nail salon I've been to). The shape of my nails was inconsistent and not attractive. Each finger nail had a slightly different shape :/ Overall, just felt like I was another being rushed through. The manicure itself was one of the worst I have paid for. I could have done better myself---considering my old polish was not fully removed and there were air bubbles in the polish. Cuticle care was reckless----I asked for my cuticles not to be cut because they are sensitive, and the technician cut anyway and made one of my fingers bleed. Overall, I do not recommend Sundays. You can find much better service, higher quality and wider-choice of polish selection for the same cost at another salon. It was overpriced and disappointing. Last note on nail polish selection, they only carry their own polish. The color selection was not great. If you're someone who is used to the top colors (Chanel, etc) of the season, they don't have that. read more

Pedicure was nice and the technicians were kind, but after the polish was supposedly dry, I left the salon and it immediately smudged. I was wearing open toed shoes and walking carefully, but somehow an entire foot ended up with dented, wrinkled polish. I made an appointment for a touch up the next morning. Afterwards, the same thing happened. I ended up spending four hours of my Saturday fixing and re-fixing this mess. Unacceptable for a $70 dollar pedicure. Extremely frustrated. read more

This was the second time I was in this salon. My toe nail fell off immediately after my first visit. The visit I had yesterday was also rough. I had a new technician who kept using my knee caps and legs to get up and down from the seat provided to nail technicians. My nail technician was unable to get up and down by herself. I didn't know this going in or have this information disclosed to me. Anyway, she would put her weight on me when she needed to move (did not ask permission or explain) and she never apologized or acknowledged a problem. I've been going to Sundays since 2019. I've been to all locations. Pros: they are beautiful and spotless. I really feel like I can relax nd enjoy myself. The chairs are more like deep lounge chairs and not massage chairs but I actually prefer them. All of the technicians are so kind, gentle, and patient. Cons: as everyone has made it clear: the nail polish. As much as all woman want to be as natural as possible we need the chemicals to make them stick. Once I left with a pedicure and went straight home sat for 2+ hours put on sneakers and every toe was damaged completely. Now the staff was so kind and asked me to come back for an entire free pedicure which I really appreciated. What I do: In the winter I do try and take a few weeks at a time with no polish on my toes. I think they do a great job shaping and cleaning the toe nail so I go there when I don't do polish and go around elsewhere for my pre vacation pedis! read more

The lifestyle they advocate for is sustainable and so important in our day and age of constant hurry and action. I love to just rest and have a session to myself at the studio. This nail salon is always hopping and I was really looking forward to coming in for a visit. The space itself is very cute and the receptionist and nail tech were friendly. I was satisfied with my pedicure. To be honest, I think you get a much better bang for your buck at a no-frills salon. The level of service was about the same, and Sundays is pretty pricey.
