How my nails are doing. They are all splitting like this and bending back. So painful

Regular mani
Morgan B.

I got a regular manicure, it was pretty standard but there was about a 20 minute wait. I asked if they had time for a manicure and they said yes, I wish they had just been upfront about the wait. They were apologetic after the fact. The manicure didn't feel rushed which was appreciated. It was $18 for a regular manicure which is a bit steep in my opinion. The place is a bit messy but didn't feel dirty if that makes sense. I don't know if I will go back considering one of my nails already chipped (could have been my fault)

Went to this place due to convenience as it is close to where I live. I've gone in the past and noticed the meritocracy, but it's fair for the price. But this is probably the worst manicure I've ever had -- I got the common combo of funny bunny and bubble bath for a gel manicure. I got this manicure on a Tuesday and noticed right away it was bubbly and honestly a bit sloppy around the edges but let it go because I'm really not that picky when it comes to nails. However, it was peeling by Sunday hanging on by a thread and chipped by Tuesday. My gel usually lasts me upwards of 3 or 4 weeks so this is unacceptable. I have a black tie event to go to this weekend and hoped these would at least last until then. I will not be returning to this establishment.

Gross I know but this is the first time I have ever gotten an infection from a pedicure in my life.

I used to like this nail salon and go weekly because of its proximity to my children's school. This week the nail technician cut the skin around my toe so badly that it ended up getting infected. I had to go to the doctor to get antibiotics and possibly go back to get it drained. I got a mani pedi Friday and by Friday night my toe was throbbing. This was NOT the first time they have cut me while trimming cuticles. Now that I think of it the nail technician (i hardly ever see the same person) usually cuts me just about every time. Otherwise they do a nice job doing my nails but I'm going to steer clear for a while or if I have no other choice I'll tell them not to cut my cuticles. If you go it's safer to tell them to just push back your cuticles.

Powder gel.... very nice

This place is fantastic, Clean, excellent customer service, and detailed. Rita took her time with my nails which I appreciated, I hate being in a rush! I had a regular pedi with powder manicure (it's worth it and better than gel) they charged me $74. Just an FYI the powder lasted me 3 weeks so it's not too bad!

Dream is now my go-to nail salon in the Murray Hill area. The staff is great and friendly. Vast selection of Essie colors. They offer a loyalty program that gives you $5 off, after your fifth visit. In comparison to other salons in the area, the prices are right. My favorite thing about this nail salon is they open the nail tool package in front of you so you know it has been efficiently cleansed after other clients. I have been to countless other salons in Manhattan that claim to sterilize but rarely see them actually open the tools.

Terrible. No ombre and the ends are visible.

Saying I am disappointed and dissatisfied is an understatement. I came on the recommendation of a friend. I requested a pedicure and a sns powder dip ombre. I was quoted $65 for sns powder dip. My pedicure technician said she did not know how to do sns powder dip so she switched seats with my friend's technician who confidently claimed "I know how to do." This SECOND technician was not attentive. When she started applying the base coat, I knew something was wrong. Instead of applying evenly, she just slapped the polish on my nails like it was glue. There were moments when applying the first powder dip, she would look around to talk to other technicians and not look at my nails when painting. It became obvious she did not know what she was doing. I believe Yenny who is the main technician or manager came to even demonstrate for her on one of my nails how to gently tap the powder onto the edges for an ombre effect. The technician just threw clumps of powder on my nail. The fan was on and when there was a light breeze, the powder kept flying off the two brushes she was using. Eventually, she became frustrated and gave up. She didn't even say one word to me and got up after calling for another technician. She also kept knocking the two brushes off the jars, which fell on the floor. I did not realize until afterwards that she used the same two brushes on my nails. Very unsanitary. Now, the FOURTH technician came and tried to finish what the third started. She did not know how to do sns either and was struggling. She claimed it is difficult to do ombre effect on short nails, but I disagree. I have gotten sns ombre done at other nail salons without an issue. She ended up cutting my cuticles and I was left bleeding on two fingers. After 1.5 hours of 4 technicians, I was expected to pay 4 people tip in addition to the $105 for my regular pedi and sns powder dip ombre, which is not even ombre. It looks like a regular gel mani. I don't know how the total came out to $105 even if there was an additional $8 quick dry charge. It was an unreasonable amount to charge and very questionable. $65+8 quickdry=$73 for not what I asked for. Btw, this "sns ombre" cost is without extentions. So then, 24+8quickdry=$32 for a regular pedicure?? Please look at the photos and ask yourselves if that's what you would pay that much money for. Before I left, the friend who referred me called Yenny to complain as the situation was just ridiculous. Yenny apologized to me saying she is the only tech who specializes in sns powder dip and acknowledged the other girls did a bad job. She said I did not have to tip for additional 2 people. I still paid for the service, which was not what I asked for, but given that I have family members who work as nail techs and know what a labor intensive job it is, I did not make a fiasco about it, but this was not right. I am really appalled that Yenny would even allow the techs to do a service they do not know how to do. I felt like I was a guinea pig for a training session. How I was treated is inexcusable for a first time client. No client should be treated like this. I paid for premium service only to find out they don't know what they're doing and they thought they can get away with it. I have never experienced such dishonesty from a nail salon. I had high expectations for this place and this was my first manicure since getting engaged in May. I feel like I've been robbed. I would NEVER recommend anyone to get their nails done here. P.S. the nail technician who did my pedicure and ended up doing my friend's nails told her there would be an additional charge of $15 to paint another layer. This was the technician's response when it was asked of her to paint the spots that she missed on the nails. After I wrote my review, I read other reviews here where the business owner Suki refutes the accuracy and authenticity of client reviews. Especially the ones saying clients were told something can be done only to find out the technicians are inexperienced and straight up lying like what happened to me. If you are reading this, this is your sign to stay away from this salon.

Massage chair

Stopped by for get a quick chair massage. I tried make appointment my favorite massages therapy shop but there's wasn't available for today. I really need massage for my neck and back problems. I went to a lot of places for get a massage and this place was one of my favorite place for get a quick massage. I've been here few times since last year also I've got nails or pedicure here last year but honestly I didn't like they nails or pedicure service cuz they're not available great design for what I wanted for my nails or pedi. I tried 30mins chair massage today and it was amazing. Rosa was sweetheart and really did amazing job with me. If you pay cash here, you can get a 5% discount. I payed them to cash and got a discount. It normal cost $37 but I payed $32 without tip. I have a tip $15 to Rosa because of I really loved she's massage. It worth, you should try chair massage even if you don't get a nails or pedicure. Stop by this place when you are in the area.

Came in for a regular manicure/pedicure which is usually $35. They took me right away even though I was a walk in, but I noticed a lot of women coming in after me with appointments having to wait their turn. The nail tech Rita tried very hard to up-sell services to me for example $4 extra for Zoya nail polish. Since when is Zoya an add-on?? Instead of the basic mani/pedi why don't I add on the "signature" pedicure? she said. I told her "No, keep it basic." Halfway through the pedicure I noticed she was giving me the "signature" pedi even though I said no I want to do the $35 basic mani/pedi... but I just thought maybe there was miscommunication because of language difference and just let it slide bc she had done most of it anyways. But then she just kept trying to make me pay more for different add-ons and I got so annoyed. It's so loud in there because everybody is yelling at each other trying to figure out how to accommodate all their walk-ins and appointments. Ended up paying $65 and I left pretty pissed off. Would never recommend or go again. Day later, the nail polish on my entire index fingernail lifted off. L o l I have no other words.

While this nail salon is very clean, I am not impressed with the quality of their work especially given the price. A gel manicure is $35 and chipped after 6 days. This has never happened to me before. Gel always lasts 2-3 weeks on me without chipping. Really disappointed.

My nail tech used a drill to "cut" my cuticles and left them all bleeding. My nails had scabs for three days and are still a mess.

It truly creates a relaxing atmosphere. However, I've noticed that the quality of the mani & pedi has declined over the years, which has made me hesitant to return, even though it's in the most convenient location for me. These days when I returned, it's just for last minute color change to avoid more damage. I referred a friend to join me for a mani/pedi once, and she also mentioned that while the ambiance is great, but the owners should get their own mani & pedi done by their technicians, which I completely agree with. While I usually don't like getting my cuticles pushed or cut, I really appreciate that they respected that preference. However, when it comes to removing polish, it's done very recklessly with a lack of attention to detail. On several occasions, they've scraped the skin around the nails--sometimes cutting it to the point where it bled and required a bandage. When I mentioned this to the hostess after she asked for feedback, she dismissed it by saying I have sensitive skin. Since when is it normal for skin to be scraped during a mani/pedi? Additionally, I've had gel mani here twice in a row, and the technician over-shaved to the point where my nails ended up paper-thin that I have to ask the technician to apply extra coats to make up for it. One time, the technician even touched my skin with the machine that is used to shave the gel polish off. I've also had my skin scraped during pedicures, which is concerning. Every time I get a gel mani, within two weeks, the polish would start to lift on the cuticle side, which shows a lack of precision during the application. My friend got a regular mani & pedi here, and one of her nails chipped within a day. While I still love the atmosphere and the owners, the decline in the quality of the services, especially regarding polish removal, nail care, and attention to detail, has made me hesitant on coming back.

The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
