I've been here a few times and EVERY TIME I'm going to pay the woman at the desk twists her mouth and wrinkles her face when she sees people are paying with a card. First off, It's rude and arrogant to ask and almost command your customers to pay cash, we pay however we can and want. I know there is a sign asking people to pay cash, BUT still the customers are paying your rent, you should change your attitude. This will be the last time I go here, not even sure how they are still in business while they are commenting under their breath and making faces. read more

Rude staff. Every single time I've gone there they've demanded cash when it's not a cash only place. I will not be going there anymore as the service is awful and the quality of nails are not up to par with the price. Don't waste your time read more

Service was awesome. Walked in desperate, super calm cool vibe from the outside. They took me right away, Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Nail tech really took her time and was so nice -- full trim of cuticles, cleaning of the underneath, shaping, base coat, two coats of color, one coat for the tip in the other color, curing, hand massage, cuticle gel, and BACK MASSAGE!!! Whole thing was $65....cheapest manicure and best I've had in years. They took photos of my hands after. One hour from entrance to exit. I think if you want a fantastic experience fast as heck and last minute, fabulous option. I literally have a same day big event and they put me right. Even gave me a $5 dollar off coupon for next time. Yah big fan. Worked out great for me. read more

I have never gotten nail extensions or powder in my life but i am going to a wedding this weekend w silver as a color theme so i wanted to go all out w silver nails. I don't think they do chrome super often bc a lot of the staff were observing the process and the manager took pictures of my nails at the end. Another girl saw my nails getting done and it inspired her to get chrome too! I love coming here it's a nice environment and great for someone like me who likes simple cute nails. Great range of colors. I don't need to make an appointment in advance. Friendly staff. Regular and gel manicure r super cheap. They have a punch card u can use, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I went today because i needed to get a pedi but was in the city and decided to get a quick pedicure and found this shop. They had me waiting for 15 minutes to sit down after telling me a 5 minute wait. Then when i get seated i waited another 15 minutes to get seen by someone. Finally when they're doing my toes, i asked for square and French tip, she doesn't file straight, all my toes are curved and slanted, the French tip Line smudged all over and it all looks like a big hot mess was made. My 3 yr old niece could've did a better fucking job! I spent an hour and 40 minutes in there in total paid 57$ for a REGULAR PEDICURE!!!! And gave the girl a 10$ tip and i got home FURIOUS with how my feet looked of just an hour after leaving the salon. read more

Mumu Nails Spa - Absolute disgrace. - Nail Salons Near Me - New York, New York

One of the best manicures I've received in Manhattan. I am still rocking a manicure I got from MuMu 16 days ago and it hasn't chipped at all, which I'm not sure has ever happened to me before. I wondered if it was just the polish I choose, but I realized my pedicure (a different, regular polish) has held up perfectly. 10/10 recommend! read more

The initial experience and customer service were nice. Unfortunately I paid $84 for Gel-X nails that didn't even last 24 hours. Within a day of me staying home and doing pretty much nothing with my nails, my first nail came off in the shower. I came back to the salon where they re stuck the fallen extension to my nail. Within 3 hours of fixing that nail, another one fell off while eating dinner. Luckily I was able to go back to the salon where they re stuck the other extension to my nail (This was yesterday). Now today I've lost 2 more nails, 1 while fixing my pants and the other when washing my hand. I've had gel-x extensions from other salons and they last me around 3-4 weeks, so this is extremely unusual for me. I've never lost a nail in a matter of 1-3 days before and I've had acrylic, nex gen, and gel-x all done. The staff themselves are nice and attentive but unfortunately the product is sub-par. read more

As for it being clean that it is. They need to have a more design styles and different types of polish. It is pricey because they are in the East Village area so it's to be expected. If you want to have a regular mani and pedicure it's good. Gel go some place else. read more

Got a chair massage while my daughter got the tricolor manicure she'd been talking about for weeks. Not too busy, clean, spacious, clean and peaceful atmosphere. Relaxing music, a big plus. Staff seem unhurried and skillful, her nails look nice and the chair massage was pretty good. Especially after what this establishment must have been through the past few years, I think anything less than a positive rating for this place is unkind. We experienced only positives here! read more

Did my mani a couple of hours ago. Is this even a manicure? Sloppy layering the color over the nails, which wrinkled a couple of hours later. Two nails on the other hand chipped. I used to have a salon in Europe years ago. This is NOT a real manicure, it is a joke. And don't get upset that I leave you a bad tip. Because you need to at least try to do a good job or go to training and learn how to do manicure. Oh, and the nail polish was diluted. Stay away from this place because it is really of a low quality. read more

Mumu Nails Spa - Dip French manicure with red tips - Nail Salons Near Me - New York, New York

I have gone to MuMu for 2 years loyally, but only recently they have begun to not paint all the way down to the base of my nail, making them look grown out after a few days.... They also have begun to get annoyed at me when I ask them to fix little things, like a crack in my nail that they were just going to paint over. When I told my manicurist for a certain shape, she did the wrong one and then got mad at me when I corrected her. They also butcher taking off dip and gel, making your nails super thin. I will be taking my services elsewhere. read more

Do not come to the salon. Came in for a gel manicure on a Monday: I told the technician that I had powder gel on some nails (because some of the nails were broke and the powder gel was keeping the nail intact) and I wanted to keep it on. She did not listen and kept trying to file it off. When I finally told her she had to leave it on or my nail would be too short, it was too late and there was hardly any powder gel left. It took 45 mins for her to just take off my old gel!!! Then she messes up the filing. I have no idea how would you describe the shape, BUT NOT ROUND. The next day I already had one nail chipped and one nail broke because they had removed the powder gel!! I returned to the salon and had it fixed for free. However now five days later, I have two nails where my the gel came off and one chipped! Unbelievable. Do not spend your money here. read more

I was walking by and decided I wanted a polish change, this salon from across the street, looked really nice, I decided to drop in no matter what the cost. Boy, was I shocked when she said a polish change was $10! Yes, please. Loved this shop, the nail techs seemed mostly Japanese, my absolute favorite thing about Japanese people is their politeness. Everyone was super nice, no one had the I don't want to be here attitude. Clean environment with a modern look. Not only did she do a great job on my nails, she also used a new file and a tiny individual buffer and gave me a quickie massage at the dryer! If I lived in NY this would be my spot! Thanks Mumu, see you next visit! read more

Ran into this salon super last minute just to get my nails done on a time crunch and would definitely not recommend. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating but it is extremely overpriced for less than quality work. I got gel French tips with extensions and could not even choose the shape or length. The timing was pretty quick but I also got so many cuts along my cuticles on multiple fingers, you can see the nail adhesive on most of the nails in a really cheap and unappealing way and the actual nail itself I saw wore away with weird indents within a day of wear. Definitely not worth 100$ would never go back lol. Posting this on a Monday morning after getting them done the Saturday before. read more

I will start with the fact that this place is VERY clean and you get a good manicure for a very good price in nyc. I came in at 12 pm on a sat and they sat me down right away. I got a regular French manicure for $19, pretty good price in new york! I saw that all the tools came from a sanitized pouch which i was really happy about because i'm a clean freak when it comes to my nails and nail salons. The girl cleaned up and shaped my nails really well considering what a bad state they were in. The french manicure was very neat and looks very pretty in my opinion. What was interesting was before she started painting, she pulled out these one time use gloves with lotion, they also came in a sealed pouch which she kept in the like towel heater thing. So when she put them on, the lotion felt so great on my hands. Anyways just me gushing cuz ive never seen something like that before. Anyways, the place itself was very cute and zen-like, they also had a mini cafe attached. pretty good overall. read more

Do not go here! The employees and especially the manager have a horrible attitude. There is no friendly greeting and the manager acts as if she is doing you a huge favor when you are paying them a for a service. The most horrible energy, they rush you out and the results are awful - crooked nails, cuts while cutting cuticles, aggressively handling hands. I won't be returning, and thankfully there are plenty of great nail salons with nicer service within a few blocks of this horrid establishment. I really wanted to give this place a chance bc of it's proximity to my apt (I've gone at least 6 times) but each visit is more horrible than the last. To the manager: Please be kind to your customers and stop acting so entitled! read more

Was in the area and stopped in for a sunday night pedicure. The salon itself is really clean, quiet, and cute! I was greeted right away and seated for my spa pedicure. Update a few months after last update: They are finally using cuticle oil!! Hurray! However technique with the cuticle pusher needs improvement. Great, clean, peaceful salon experience! However, like some other reviews on here, I had a problem with the gel chipping a few days (3) after getting the manicure, but the salon was willing to fix it when I called and explained (as long as I didn't come at a busy time). Not the best to have to go back and get a touch up after the fact, but definitely appreciated given the price of a gel manicure! read more

Nice, clean salon. Two stars because my nail color started to chip and peel less than 1 week! I got the zoos polish, which supposedly should last 14 days. read more

My go to place for mani pedis. All the staff are great and nice. Competitively priced. Good selection of colors and open late.

I went in for a simple manicure, it was super quick (20 minutes) and they did a great job. It was also very inexpensive so I think this place is a winner. - fast - quality - super clean (all utensils came out of a closed sterilized bag) - very friendly - well ventilated! - very relaxing environment read more

DOESNT DESERVE ONE STAR. The staff is trash. I had to file my own nails the way I wanted them because the nail tech refused to do it how I asked her to. Not only did she refuse to do it, when one of her colleagues showed her what I wanted, she got loud with her and myself and snatched the file out of my hand. Also, they are NOT using the correct powdered gel (SNS). They use a cheaper material known as dental acrylic. It took another salon TWO HOURS to remove the "SNS" they put on my nails. My nails now are incredibly damaged and I will never go back there. Plus they are expensive for no reason. read more

Best nail salon I've tried in New York so far. The space is CLEAN, the room is relaxing and the service is good. First time I went, I got the spa pedicure (that's like the premium one with an extended massage and some other extras.) I've also gotten gel mani and chair massage there on other occasions. The only negative I noticed was, the massage that comes automatically with the manicure is extremely short (I overheard another customer comment on this while I was there; it's not just me!) But, overall every other service I've tried has been excellent. Another thing that really impressed me was, I accidentally gave the cashier an extra $20 without noticing and she told me instead of just pocketing it which she easily could have done. I always appreciate honesty like that. Overall great place! read more

I came in for a gel mani and regular pedi. My manicurist was Jenny and I didn't have an appt which was no problem on a weeknight after work. My pedicure was really efficient and felt great and my mani was really thorough and nicely done. It wasn't cheap but there's lower options in the area as well as higher so I'm happy paying for quality. What's most important is how incredibly clean and sanitary it is. You have absolutely nothing to worry about and the salon is beautiful. Additionally, there's a HUGE selection of gel colors and regular. I doubt you'll have to ever bring your own color - they truly have everything. The only reason I didn't give it 5 star is because the pedi and mani massages left something to be desired. But I'm OK with that, I had an anti-aging hand mask (included) and that was quite nice. I was looking to ditch my local salon and now I know where I'll be going more regularly. read more

Mumu Nails Spa - Regular Mani. Poorly done. - Nail Salons Near Me - New York, New York

Very pretty and reasonably priced salon! They are super nice but warning they don't really know how to remove acrylics as well as some other salons, especially for the price ($15 charge) and they kind of rush through the manicure so you end up with air bubbles. They do however use keratin gloves so your hands are super soft afterwords and they have you pay beforehand so there's no smudging :) Not the best manicure but would return just for the ambiance and good deals! read more
