Nicely designed interiors. I walked in and I think the manager was the only person available to give me a gel mani. I loved the immediate result but on Day 4 one of my nails chipped which surprised me. I was only traveling and hadn't been washing dishes or doing anything strenuous with my hands. For the price, I would have expected a longer lasting gel mani. The technician doing my pedi was new, in which I thought she would be more meticulous, but the result was less than up to par. And they were able to accommodate pretty last minute appointments for two. However, the lady who did my pedicure basically shaved off the back of my ankle towards the Achilles tendon and only stopped when I flinched because it hurt! She answered my many questions before I put down a 20% deposit to hold a weekday appointment for three. The atmosphere was very calming, without too many people being booked -- there were only 2 others in the salon with us during our 2 and a half hours in there. The salon experience at Zeno was a memorable, relaxing way to catch up with friends while being pampered with ginger lemon tea, foot scrubs, and carefully drawn nail designs. I was so happy with my yellow daisy nails and my friends with their French manicure and ombré extensions. Their team worked hard to make us all happy. Amanda was fantastic with the pedicure and the foot massage felt heavenly. Great experience at Zeno! I was a walk in on a Monday early evening and was seated promptly. I got a regular manicure ($20 plus tip) and am very pleased. My manicurist seemed to really care about doing the very best job she could, and my nails turned out great. I really liked how clean and upscale this place looked. A basic mani/pedi was $57 - that's about $10 to $20 more than the usual places. Desperation made me say what the hell so I said yes and off we went. It was worth the extra money. The place was much nicer overall than the interiors of almost all the other chains and questionable salons up and down every street and avenue. And the service was great. I tried this place once for gel and definitely never plan to go back. Keep in mind that they charge you extra to remove nail polish before applying a new coat. My gel started to chip after 6 days and when I went in to have it fixed, she said it's been over a week so it would cost extra. I've been getting gel for the last 2 years and it usually lasts a month. A good nail salon should be able to fix a chip without a problem since the reason it chipped so soon is because of lack of quality. Unfriendly, pretentious and poor quality. I got a deluxe pedicure with Monica which included the following: Foot bath / mask / nail trim & shape / cuticle care / callus treatment / sugar scrub / hot towel / hot stone / 10 min massage / polish. The regular price with regular polish is $70. You get to pick a scent kit to use during your pedicure which has all the scrubs and lotions that will be used during your pedicure aka no community jars (see photos attached). Monica didn't rush my pedicure (it lasted about 40 mins), she didn't draw blood and she did a great paint job. They have a million powder dip and gel colors to pick from. I went on a Thursday aftertoon and it wasn't crowded but there was a steady flow of traffic, just call and make an appt; you cannot make one online. A few things I noticed that may not matter: -The massage needed help- just imagine a shin rub for 10 mins....ehh pass! I didn't come here for a foot/leg massage so I didn't care. -When she was done with the heavy lifting of the pedicure (aka pre nail polish) she went over to the sink and actually cleaned the reusable things that she used during the pedicure like the tray to catch liquids and dead skin, the cheese grater foot scrub, etc. Odd..how about we finish the entire pedicure first and do that while I'm at the dryers? -The music isn't tranquil, but they aren't playing loud techno music either so it works. -The design and layout is super modern And it looks newly renovated/opened......think nail high top bar (without purse/bag hooks- the nerve lol) upholstered captain chairs instead of the old school bulky ones that vibrate, and sink basins (they don't use the large plastic liners in the tub) instead of a massive foot tub. Did a walk in for a gel manicure. I've gotten gel manicures all over the city and paid all kinds of price points. Zeno nails did not fit the bill. Walking in, the shop is nice and clean, so I'll give them that. My manicurist did not do such a great job on my nails. I told her that I didn't want to cut my cuticles too much but she still ended up nicking me and she didn't even seem concerned at all - just walked away to get some infalab to stop the bleeding, but she touched the tip of the bottle to my actual cuticle, which is a pretty unsanitary thing to do. She also never prepped my cuticles with the cuticle oil before she started cutting into them. I got a classic which should've included: Nail trim & shape / cuticle care / hot towel / massage / polish for $45. After prepping, she told me to go wash my hands at the sink and just put the hot towel next to me to dry my hands? Usually at the nail salon - they use the hot towel to wipe of excess lotion after they massage your hands. Also, there was no massage whatsoever to speak of. She just placed a tiny amount of lotion on the top of my hands - that's it. Overall, the polish looks nice. The shape is okay. I definitely would not come back because for $45 - I can get much better service elsewhere. read more

One of the hardest parts of moving neighborhoods in Manhattan is having to find a new nail salon that you love. Finding Zeno was a huge blessing - I actually liked it more than my old nail salons! It's a bit of a walk from my apartment, but worth it. The salon is very new and modernized looking, with tons of color options from great brands like OPI and Zoya. Once you walk in they take your temp/sanitize, and offer you water or tea. They were very prompt in getting me in for my appointment. My gel mani regular pedi was great and they really took their time with everything - no one was rushing you out to try to get to another customer.
