Fast and professional service I waited less than 30 mins and he had the door unlocked in less than 2 mins highly recommend

He does come out right away or when he says he will but he is too overpriced for small things. It shouldn't be $129 just to dismantle a small lock on a small file cabinet which he did very quickly. Oh and he only gave a price right then and never beforehand and since he would already charge for coming out, what else would you expect to do?? read more

Great reliable service inside out. I used them when I locked out myself And to finally upgrade my lock to keyless. Mission finally accomplished. Thanks to Mr. Tim and Tim Jr. read more

A Thorough Locksmith - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

I came here since I need a mailbox key made and they don't carry this type in many hardware stores. They are located next to a dealership so you need to actually be looking for it if not you will miss it. I came and the guy working there was very friendly and helpful. He explain how he didn't have the exact key but could make me one that should work and if it didn't to come back and he would get me a refund. I thought that was a fair deal but I was very lucky the key worked and I didn't have to return. read more

Tim was very friendly and courteous. He fixed the deadbolt on my apartment door. He was upfront about pricing and the exact work needed to be done. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of a locksmith. read more

Awesome Locksmith! I went in today to get 2 Blanks cut (I purchased the blanks from Ebay and needed a place to get them cut to the size my master key). There were a few hardware stores nearby that I think would have been fine but wanted to take it to a locksmith just out of caution. I went in today and was out within 2 minutes. Very affordable pricing for the job as well. Thank you guys! read more

OMG being a real estate agent I CANNOT stress enough on the fact, how important it is for me to have perfect keys cut in one go every single time. These guys! Never failed me yet. Very conveniently located, parking lot is a little 1 min walk from their store, priced a tad more than home depot, who manage to screw up my keys almost every time. I would rather pay more with the guarantee that my keys are always perfect. They also email receipts. Annnd, incase you lost the keys but have the #'s of the cut, they can make a key with that itself. 'Ain't that cool? My go to guys! Thankyou from Raj the www.walkableLiving.com realtor :) read more

Our daughter bought a condo in Jersey City and I offered to find a locksmith to replace the deadbolt. I called the shop a couple of times and spoke with both Jonathan and Tim. Each was courteous and knowledgeable. We set an appointment the same day as closing. We needed to change the appointment because of a delay. Tim accommodated our new timeframe. He changed the deadbolt, and also fixed the bent doorframe. He also rekeyed the other lock to match. All work was done quickly. Price was reasonable and as discussed. A very positive experience. Thank you! read more

Just had a 5 star experience, so had to get on Yelp and write about it! My husband called ATL, was provided a quote, and in about 1 hour, Johnathan was here changing out our locks. He was super friendly and did the job pleasantly and quickly. We asked for 3 keys, he gave us 4. All around nice guy! read more

AMAZING!!! After my super was not able to get my door open I called these guys - I was not disappointed. To start, they are very transparent. Before I hung up the phone he made sure I knew their prices and that I was ok with them. He said he would arrive between 30-45 minutes and was here in 20! What I really appreciated was that he made sure to try and pick my lock first rather than just destroy it because he didn't want me to spend more money than was necessary. After a few tries the lock was open! Great experience and would highly recommend their services to anyone! read more

These guys are top shelf service. They are friendly and fast. They know there stuff from the time you get on the phone to the appointment. They help you in every way to let you know what the options are for your needs. Thanks guys...You ROCK!!!!! I will definitely refer you to all my friends and clients. read more

I locked myself out and was pissed! I called them based on their Yelp reviews and proximity to my home. The guy who answered the phone was great. He told me the cost and how long they would take to get here. It was very reasonably priced. The guy worked quickly and made sure to check my key to make sure it still worked after he picked my lock. He called the office to charge my credit card and I was immediately texted the receipt from Square. These guys are professionals! I made sure to add them to my contacts. read more

Locksmith was very friendly and came out to change our locks even though he was done for the day and even beat us to our house. He gave us a better lock than we had originally and didn't try to work us over for $. We will be using this company again! read more

We needed to get all our locks replaced as one of our keys was lost by a contractor working on our home. I called A Thorough Locksmith and was able to speak to someone immediately. I not only was able to go through the issues but able to upgrade to a keyless entry at a great price! There honesty during this process was amazing. I was able to text a few pictures of the locks so that they had all the information they needed. When Jonathan came by it was also a friendly honest experience. He had an opportunity to upset me due to a door issue that I had. Instead he worked around it and was able to use the deadbolt that was lesser in price. I am very happy with the service and the total client experience. I highly recommend! read more

Lost my car key so I needed to replace it. Tried to charge me a ridiculous amount. Lowered his price to $45 but didn't guaranty it would work. Called me 20min before normal closing hours (5pm) and said the key would not work and that my only option would be to get the $150 key. Luckily my car was well parked so I waited till the next day to find another locksmith. Found one who charged me $40 and works great. read more

Fabulous customer service - responsive, friendly, top notch work, reasonable pricing and available 24 hours. I highly recommend Timmy and will definitely use them again. read more

Called A Thorough Locksmith due to a lost car key for a 2005 VW Golf. The staff is very friendly and professional. You can easily tell they knew what they were doing. I had a lot of questions before they started the process and they didn't hesitate to answer any of them. Their timing is reliable. The locksmith, Tim, was able to make a key for my car but unfortunately it was not able to start the car due to issues with programming it, BUT before he started the process they informed me that Volkswagens are tricky to deal with so I give them credit for that. He recommended that I should go to the dealership to get the key programmed and only charged me $50 for everything, which is a deal compared to dealership prices. Overall experience is 5 stars but it's only fair to give 4 since I was not able to leave when everything was done. Although, I would definitely recommend these guys for anybody looking for a trusting locksmith! read more

A Thorough Locksmith - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

From initial contact to completion of the job, Tim and Jonathan were responsive to all my questions and concerns. My complex required a COI prior to commencement of any work, which they were able to supply in advance via e-mail. Once he arrived at my door (exactly at the specified appointment time), Tim skillfully rekeyed my lock quickly. I used to struggle with the old key at times in order to gain access, but after his repairs, the new key worked much more smoothly. The price initially quoted via text was honored and fair. I have no reservations about recommending this locksmith's services for your security needs. read more

Tim is the best!! He comes quick, works smart and is a delight. He did a great job getting in my unit and then told me about a great new lock and installed it too. If it has a key or a lock you should use them! read more

I just purchased a home in Jersey City and wanted to get the doors re-keyed, some locks replaced and prepare for putting august locks everywhere. Tim came out for the same day service call and was able to help bring sanity to the mess of locks and keys that inherited from the previous owner. 10 re-keys, some new locks and a bit of handyman work later I was left with exactly what I wanted and needed. I can't say enough about the quality of workmanship and the the foresight that Tim brought to the table when evaluating and executing on the job I wanted done. Excellent work! read more
