Quick service and tasty food. Love their lunch specials. Check out their spicy thai chicken. Definitely a revisit.

Thai Spicy Chicken

The lady at the counter was a little rude. Asked for the water and she pointed to the left without looking at me. I asked for the cup and she pointed her finger again to the left without looking at me , just looking at the cash register. She looked annoyed. We ordered Thai spicy chicken and it was delicious. Then I ordered soda in the counter, tried to pay by card and the same lady said not nicely, we don't accept credit card for just the soda. I think the place will have more customers if the lady was a little nicer because they have good food. I ate here maybe twice before years ago and the lady who worked there before was much nicer and they had more customers, too. The food price is not cheap. Casual dining, they have 4 1/2 tables and chairs. Not busy for a Sunday afternoon, maybe 3 dine ins and 1 take out order in an hour. Lots of parking. Customers pay for their food, it is not free, so be nice .

Food is not fresh. My dad and I got food poisoning. Save yourselves and do not purchase from this store.

If you don't care about ambiance and put value on food/taste. This is by far the best Thai food place. My regular place to go for Thai food.

Ask the Community - A Thai Express

Are they halal?

Yes! This restaurant is halal (May 21')

Is it still under construction?

I didn't see any construction going on. The food is so good and fresh, seemed smaller in portion.

The menu is massive with special sandwiches, sort of like Ike's. From what I saw, order in the store is by kiosk. The staff were busy when I arrived but they quickly helped me and confirmed my online order. And they shared when to expect the order by since I arrived early. I appreciated the clarification. The portions are large! I got the cheesy bread and it was good!

I walked into this deli today hungry and wanting something very simple: a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. Instead of being greeted by a person behind the counter, I was directed to a kiosk. The kiosk was surprisingly limited and frustrating to use. I could not find an option for a basic turkey sandwich without scrolling through a long list of pre-built combinations that did not work for me. There was no easy way to customize and no visible option to simply order something straightforward. What made it worse was the complete absence of human interaction. There was no opportunity to ask a question or clarify an order. It felt transactional in the worst way. I was not alone. The couple next to me also gave up and left without ordering. We all walked out without ever speaking to a single person. If you are going to replace staff with kiosks, at least make the system intuitive and flexible. Sometimes people just want a simple sandwich and a quick, human exchange. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed..

I'll go into detail for each: - the kubideh combo (chicken and beef) were the juiciest and fresh kabobs you'll find around. Serves with very well made white rice that'd be delicious on its own - Texan burger was so rich and juicy with a spectrum of flavor that'll make you overeat - the manto dumpling was easily the best one I've had though I haven't had too many this one definitely was cooked to perfection - very friendly staff that goes out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction - it's a clean, well kept and cozy place to sit - nice outdoor seating with effective heating - bathroom is also clean

My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.

When I walked in and approached the counter, the workers turned on the menu screens right away. I went with the combo kabob featuring chicken and lamb. I was told I could pay later and sit wherever I liked, which was a nice touch. I watched as they took the kabob skewers straight from the refrigerator and placed them over hot coals--done the traditional way, which really adds to the flavor. When my plate arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see the meats still on the skewers. It made for a cool presentation. The dish came with fluffy rice, a fresh salad, and bread, along with a spicy sauce and white sauce that complemented everything well. Both the chicken and lamb were tender and packed with flavor. My only small complaint is that I wish there was a bit more meat on each skewer. The interior was clean and spacious, and parking was easy. If you're ever in Newark and craving solid kabobs, this spot is worth checking out.
